The book-report Human Development: the reality beyond the numbers addresses issues related to the Development Index (IDH), of Brazil, in a general context, and the city of Bauru, in the local context. The “IDH” is a number that serves as a comparison between countries, in order to measure the degree of economic development and the quality of life offered to the population. The classification, if high, can be readily used as a means of aggrandizement national and if low, can be used to highlight the weaknesses national. Understanding the role of media as an agent capable of promoting social debates of great importance, this book-report aims to discuss the concept of human development beyond the numbers commonly reported, prompting debates on the issue of human development: whether in relation to social issues, public policy or the role of the media in the process of contributing to the formation of public opinion. Sistema jagunço: localismo e universalismo em Grande sertão : veredas

Under different perspectives of interpretation and analysis, the notions of localism and universalism in the fictional production of Guimarães Rosa have been strongly explored by the criticism, especially in Grande sertão: veredas [The devil to pay in the backlands], in which these two dimensions – overlapped and complementary – become more intricate and profuse. Taking the analytical line of historical, social and political dimensions of the novel for granted – not regarding it as an essay or strict allegory of the country – the present study proposes a new reading of the composition with the interpretation of the articulation of these two dimensions in the forming of the “jagunço system” (ROSA, 1970, p.391), that is a concept created by Guimarães Rosa and which transcends the historical and sociological reality. The articulation of the social, political and cultural elements figure in Guimarães Rosa’s fiction and becomes an issue for wider debates and reflections, so that the particular element of the novel enables a universal survey. Based on diverse critical apprehensions of the novel, this paper aims to investigate the levels of the literary composition in which the local-universal articulation associated with the representation of the jagunço is constructed. In order to do that, the theoretical study is based on three dimensions of studies: a) critical essays about Guimarães Rosa, the totality of his work and specific critical essays about Grande sertão: veredas [The devil to pay in the backlands] and the “jagunço system”, b) theoretical apparatus concerning the history, the politics and the Brazilian culture related to the cangaço; and c) theoretical subsidies for the study of the narrative

Cette étude se propose à l'analyser la matière onirique dans les contes fantastique de Pierre Jules Théophile Gautier (1811-1872). En raison des singularités concernant à la période historique de l’auteur, c’est-à-dire à l’époque romantique, la fréquence thématique du rêve se montre essentielle à la compréhension de l'esprit de l'auteur, l’icône de mouvements postérieures, bien en raison de l'évolution artistique et stylistique qui lui a conduit à avoir des relations polémiques avec les idéaux du progrès bourgeois et avec la conception utilitariste de l'art de l’époque, contre laquelle il a opposé la théorie de « L’Art pour l’art ». On a comme l’objectif de montrer que la critique féroce de Théophile Gautier à l’idéal progressite de l’époque et aux limites de la condition humaine occupe une place importante dans ses récits de rêve, soit par la réorganisation des éléments du réel à travers le rêve, soit comme un des moyens d'échapper aux limites de la réalité qui n’était pas toujours vu positevement par les rationalisme

Realidade em crise: uma cobertura in loco da crise econômica na Espanha

Em um contexto globalizado, onde os acontecimentos possuem alcance mundial, torna-se necessário avaliar a eficiência do chamado Jornalismo Internacional na divulgação de informações. A singularidade do olhar jornalístico tem sido comprometida neste ramo, uma vez que a modalidade está cada vez mais ligada às agências de notícias, que apresentam uma cobertura pasteurizada dos assuntos em questão. O objetivo geral deste projeto foi contribuir para o enriquecimento das informações sobre a crise de origem econômica na Espanha, por meio da produção de conteúdo in loco, e retratar os reflexos deste contexto na vida da população europeia, nos âmbitos cultural, econômico, político e social, a fim de comprovar que é fundamental a presença do correspondente no local do assunto reportado. Além disso, constatou-se ser necessário reportar os efeitos da crise na vida comum dos habitantes da Espanha, uma vez que os meios de comunicação tradicionais se limitam a fornecer uma visão tecnicista do assunto, por meio de números e estatísticas. As notas, notícias, entrevistas, fotos e vídeos produzidos foram publicados em uma página experimental criada no Facebook, de modo a avaliar a eficácia das redes sociais enquanto novas plataformas do jornalismo digital

Interpretação tectono-estratigráfica do reservatório Quissamã (Eo-meso-albiano) nos campos de Pampo, Bicudo e Bonito, Bacia de Campos

Hydrocarbon accumulations occur in marine carbonate reservoirs of Quissamã Formation (early to midlle Albian), southwest Campos Basin. We investigated Pampo, Bicudo and Bonito fields, in order to understand the tectono-structural framework of oncolite/bioclast coarse-grained calcarenite reservoir and the calcilutite-marl-shale sealing interval (Late Albian to Turonian). The database of eleven wells from those fields allowed to elaborate structural sections correlating the Macaé Group – both Quissamã reservoir and Outeiro seal, the latter corresponding to the tectonic deepening phase of basin evolution. Based on density and electric logs, it was prepared structural sections of the carbonate reservoirs with consequent identification of porous zones and oil-water contacts. An extensive 3-D seismic database (~300 Km2) allowed to map three reflectors which represent the limiting units of Macaé Group

Uma avaliação do uso do NCRP 151 na realidade brasileira

Medical Physics is an interdisciplinary field that applies concepts and laws of physics in medical practices. Currently, one of its main applications is the use of ionizing radiation in the treatment of oncological diseases. Due to its wide use and highly dangerous, many of radioprotection procedures should be adopted with the objective of protecting human beings from harmful effects of radiation. Thus, you can better enjoy the benefits that the practice can offer. The methodology proposed by the National Council on Radiation Protection 151 (NCRP 151), relates technical information necessary to Structural Shielding Design and Evaluation for Megavoltage X- and Gamma- Ray Radiotherapy Facilities. However, many parameters used to calculate the shield are based on estimates only, and it is an international standard that may not be adequate to the Brazilian reality. Thus, the central idea of this study is the collection of data from the routine of the Radiotherapy Service of the Real e Benemérita Associação Portuguesa de Beneficência, in particular equipment cobalt therapy Theratron 780 (Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd.) and the linear accelerator Varian Clinac 2100C for measurement of workload, number of patients, fields, and dose factors to determine the best use of barrier protection. Caracterização estrutural da porção central da Bacia de Santos e seu embasamento continental adjacente, através de interpretação de imagens de satélites e geofísicas

The Santos Basin is located in the Brazilian continental margin and includes the coast of Santa Catarina, Paraná, São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro states. Its northern limit is the Campos Basin through the High of Cabo Frio and the southern one with the Pelotas Basin through the Platform of Florianópolis, totaling an area of approximately 350,000 square kilometers in a water depth of 3,000 m. The Paranapanema Lineament has WNW / ESE direction, and extends from the area filled by the Paraná Basin, on the border between the states of Sao Paulo and Parana, lasting up to near the ocean floor along with the fracture zone of Rio de Janeiro. The Capricorn Lineament is a feature inherited from the separation between the continents of Africa and South America, and is the main structural feature NW / SE of the Santos Basin center-south region. These two structures together with other ones with continental origin may be associated with structural features in the sediments from the Santos Basin. This work aims to characterize the structures operating in the central portion of the Santos Basin based on subsurface data in the offshore area (2D seismic) together with data from the surface of the continental basement in a way to correlate the Santos Basin structures with the continental regional traits. This data interpolation showed that the structural features of the continent operates on the submerged zone, the seismic sections show these structural trends for the Paranapanema Lineament / Fracture Zone of Rio de Janeiro, Capricorn Lineament and two fault zones that exhibit structures typical of a transfer zone

Considering this premise, the study talks about the communication inside companies, pointing out the current trend of outsourcing this process. This paper is based in integrated communication, mainly stated by Margarida Kunsch, and in brazilian communication consulting data. Besides, a communication agency was chosen as a study case, which helped at information search for the issue, and as subject to discussion. The study tries to analyze the process of communication service, when executed by an outsourced firm, the pros and cons, from a Public Relations perspective

The work’s objective is to point out the difference between rural / urban and country side / city, drawing on the historical process of formation of the terms and analyzing the current dichotomous and continuous, to clarify the concepts of education in rural and rural education, in an attempt to differentiate these types of education in accordance with the schools. Also works with the different conceptions of children, adolescents and youth of the rural that are mostly students from schools in the 1st and 2nd grade. Caracterização dos reservatórios do grupo Macaé no Campo de Garoupa - Bacia de Campos - por meio de interpretação sísmica e perfis de poço

The study area is the Garoupa Field, located 75 km from the coast of Rio de Janeiro in bathymetric elevation of 125 m and it is the first important offshore discovery of the Campos Basin with hydrocarbon production in the Albian carbonates. The high significance of carbonate rock reservoirs for the global oil industry and its degree of complexity, combined with the fact that the Garoupa Field is a mature field, make this research project interesting to develop a re-exploratory vision of the study area. The objective of this paper is to characterize the physical properties of the Macae Group reservoirs in the Garoupa Field through well correlation techniques, petrophysical analysis and seismic interpretation (3D), in order to evaluate qualitatively and quantitatively the response of geophysical data to the presence of carbonate rock reservoirs. From the analysis of well profiles (gamma ray, resistivity, density and sonic) it was possible to identify six reservoir levels in the Quissamã Formation. As a result, the reservoirs have good correlation between the wells in the Garoupa Field and show lateral facies variation. In the seismic interpretation, structural contour maps were generated in time (ms) from the top of the Macae Group and two horizons that correspond to the reservoir levels. These maps show that the oil producing area of this field is a structural high located at the west of the interpreted seismic cube, and it was classified as a rollover limited by lateral faults forming a horst. The seismic attribute maps show a good response to the reservoirs of the Garoupa Field because they are associated with amplitude anomalies, verified by the correlation between the physical properties of the reservoir rock and seismic data through cross plots, with emphasis in a linear correlation between the resistivity profile and the values of Maximum Absolute Amplitude and RMS Amplitude attributes

Plano real e a nova realidade brasileira

This paper analyzes the Real Plan and its effects on two administrations of President Fernando Henrique Cardoso (FHC), a period which extends from 1995 to 2002. To this end, the study includes a brief review of the problems faced by previous plans, especially the Cruzado Plan and the reasons for the belief that it has been successfull in relation to inflation control. Additionally, seeking to describe the process of moving to the new currency towards stabilization, the paper describes the theoretical foundations of the Plan. In sequence, it defines the backround of both international and domestic monetary reform which was one important part of the Plan and therefore the reasons for the implementation of the monetary reform. Subsequently the paper deals with the effects of the Plan on the economy as a whole, covering also the way the economic measures were taken concerning the Mexican and Asian crisis, the policies used fot the exchange rate, interest rate, fiscal accounts, balance of payments, among other factors and the relationship between them. Hence, it describes the immediate and the long-term consequences of stabilization program in terms of output, employment, public deficit and debt. Therefore, it is important to note the various junctures to which the economy was exposed, and also to point out the challenges and obstacles arising from these changes for growth, which was sometimes fast, sometimes slowing down - the so-called stop and go. Of course, facts as the moving to floating exchange rate regime, the adoption of inflation targeting regime and the adoption of fiscal responsibility law along with the primary surplus policy were able to create a new economic environment and to contribute to later success of the Cardoso years

Interpretação da fadiga muscular por meio da eletromiografia durante corrida em esteira

O presente estudo teve como objetivo identificar a fadiga muscular por meio da amplitude e freqüência do sinal eletromiográfico (EMG) do músculo vasto lateral (VL) e reto femoral (RF) do membro inferior direito, durante protocolo incremental de corrida em esteira e nas contrações isométricas submáximas realizadas no início e após cada velocidade. Participaram deste estudo 07 voluntários saudáveis, do gênero masculino, experientes em corrida na esteira, com idade média de 25 anos (± 4,3), sem antecedentes de doenças músculo-esqueléticas nos membros inferiores e de antropometria semelhante. Foram realizadas três contrações isométricas voluntárias máximas (CIVM = 100%) de extensão do joelho para posterior determinação da contração submáxima de 50% da CIVM (CI-50%). O protocolo de corrida foi composto de um aquecimento de 5 minutos (9 km/h), e após iniciou-se o teste com velocidade inicial de 10 km/h e incremento de 1 km/h a cada 3 minutos, até a exaustão voluntária, havendo uma pausa entre cada velocidade de aproximadamente 2 minutos. Antes do início da corrida e após cada velocidade realizou-se uma contração isométrica com 50% da CIVM (CI-50%) de 5s de duração. No sinal eletromiográfico coletado durante a corrida, os valores de RMS (Root Mean Square) dos músculos VL e RF foram obtidos no período correspondente a um ciclo completo da passada a 10% e 100% do tempo analisado (120 segundos finais de cada velocidade) por meio de rotina específica (Matlab). No sinal eletromiográfico coletado durante as CI-50% (5s), os valores de RMS e FM (freqüência mediana) foram obtidos no período de 1s (intervalo de 1 a 2s). A normalidade dos dados foi determinada através do teste de Shapiro-Wilk. Utilizou-se teste-t de Student para amostras pareadas, e o nível de significância (p) adotado foi de p<0,05. A realidade contemporânea das relações institucionais: desafios e oportunidades para as Relações Públicas

The contemporary organizations establish complex networks of relationships with their audiences. However, it is the socio-historical setting of the organizations that allow that their internal structures, management and culture as well as their interests and goals in relation to the macro social environment to be understood. To understand what is currently proposed as institutional relations, it is necessary to search on that socio-historical source the progress in the studies of management and organizational communication aiming to prove the assumptions underlying this strategic role within organizations. In order to do that, this project raises ethnographic aspects of the institutional relationships to see what is proposed by the organizations and, therefore, highlights the lack of detailed studies in this area. From this survey, it is clear the possible role of public relations in contributing to studies, plans and execution of institutional relations according to the basement in the humanities and communication processes of networks of relationships between organizations
