One of the biggest environmental problems of today is the climate change. Experts affirm that this global warming is related to the greenhouse effect. Its causes are directly related to human activity, especially the use of fossil fuels. In this context, companies around the world are challenged to improve energy efficiency in order to reduce the environmental impact and work toward the so-called tripod of sustainable development that focuses on the social, economic and environmental aspects of a business strategy. The first step a company can make in this regard is to conduct an inventory of emissions of greenhouse gases (GHGs). The reduction of GHG emissions in a refinery can be achieved by replacing steam turbines with electric motors to drive big machines, this reduction is achieved by relieving the steam consumption for electric power available or purchased. An important aspect associated with the reduction of GHG emissions is the best performance of the Energy Intensity Index (ERI). The objective of this study was to analyze the feasibility of the blower motorization in the regenerative cycle of a fluidized catalytic cracking unit at a specific refinery. For development work, two methods were used, the initial screening and optimization scenarios with the help of software Butyl. The results indicate that after a certain cost of natural gas this substitution becomes favorable. In addition, there is a large reduction of CO2 emissions avoided by burning fuel

The objective of this work is to compare how manifests the ideological positioning in the hegemonic media productions, according to Gramsci's conception, in relation to the radical alternative media, proposed by John Downing. Depress��o e apoio social percebido por m��es de crian��as hospitalizadas

This study was performed as a requirement of the final course in Nursing. The study is cross-cutting, in order to identify associations between socioeconomic factors, education, child hospitalization in the ICU or not, degree of depression and level of social support (material, affective, emotional, informational and positive social interaction) and how to identify subgroups of mother - child vulnerable. Constitute themselves as subjects, mothers of children 0 to 17 years, 11 months and 29 days in hospital after the second day of hospitalization in the pediatric unit of a State Hospital Interior Paulista. Data collection was initiated after obtaining the assent of the Research Ethics Committee, as well as signing the consent form. We used the following instruments to collect data: the data form for socioeconomic and hospitalization; Beck Depression Inventory and Medical Outcomes Study (MOS). We obtained the result that there is a strong association between availability and social support and income per capita and the degree of depression, but did not find an association between time and hospital stay and whether the child was admitted to the ICU or not. We conclude that it is necessary to establish treatment services from the patient���s family, plus an appropriate social service support to meet this big demand for mothers who need support

Qualidade de vida e vulnerabilidade social na percep����o do idoso

According to data from the World Health Organization, the older population will grow sixteenfold from 1950 to 2025 in comparison to a fivefold population growth in the same period, which is referred to by UNO as the ���Ageing Era���. This places Brazil in the sixth position in the contingent of older individuals worldwide, with a number that is higher than 32 million. Considering how topics such as quality of life and social vulnerability are important in face of the growing older population, these topics must be furthered studied so that they can be understood as important variables for both better clinical practice and scientific research. To describe the social vulnerability and evaluate the quality of life of older individuals in a population hospitalized in the internal medicine ward of Bauru State Hospital. This is a descriptive qualitative study that was conducted by means of interviews and using Bardin���s discourse analysis. The inclusion criteria used in this study were: individuals at 60 years of age who were mentally capable of answering the proposed questions. Two categories concerning Quality of Life and Social Vulnerability emerged from the interviews. The following emerged from the theme Quality of Life: ���Life as something important��� and subcategories that involved feeling useful in society, having a supportive family, independence, optimism and joy and survival. Also, the following emerged from the theme Social Vulnerability: ���Negative recognition of older individuals in society��� and subcategories that involved lack of respect, functional disability, family indifference, housing-related insecurity, an inefficient health care system and loneliness. Quality of Life and Social Vulnerability are largely discussed themes in the present scenario. Habita����o social e parcelamento urbano em Presidente Prudente - SP

Este trabalho discute sobre como a habita����o social vem sendo desenvolvida no Brasil e apresenta uma proposta de loteamento urbano para as classes sociais menos favorecidas economicamente na cidade de Presidente Prudente. A id��ia do projeto �� a de comparar um loteamento com vias ortogonais, lotes privados e espa��os de lazer p��blicos bem separados, com uma proposta cujas unidades habitacionais estariam dispostas de forma a criar ��reas verdes integradas ao conv��vio social. Para isso foram considerados aspectos sociais, econ��micos, formais e funcionais. A elabora����o do trabalho come��ou com estudos sobre o tema e com levantamento bibliogr��fico, quando nasce essa inquieta����o sobre habita����o social no Brasil, verificou-se a car��ncia de bons projetos arquitet��nicos em uma rela����o quantitativa. A partir da��, foram analisadas diversas pesquisas e propostas que relacionam a urbaniza����o brasileira e a forma como ela se apresenta com rela����o a unidades habitacionais, com interesse social, ou seja, para pessoas de baixa renda, com foco na cidade de Presidente Prudente (S��o Paulo). De acordo com esses estudos, foi feito um levantamento de poss��veis ��reas de implanta����o de um loteamento onde foi constatada a exist��ncia de um terreno n��o edificado, em uma ��rea com infra-estrutura e dentro do per��metro urbano. An��lise da qualidade de vida de pacientes com a doen��a de Charcot-Marie-Tooth tipo 1A

A doen��a de Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) �� a mais freq��ente das neuropatias heredit��rias, mas a sua hist��ria natural �� pouco conhecida. Apesar da maioria dos pacientes apresentarem uma evolu����o com caracter��sticas mais ���benignas���, �� associado �� doen��a com um comprometimento funcional, o que pode ser acompanhado de limita����es e incapacita����es. O presente estudo teve como objetivo avaliar a qualidade de vida de pacientes afetados pela CMT1A. Considerando que a qualidade de vida pode sofrer influ��ncia de vari��veis s��cio-culturais, um estudo neste contexto mostra-se oportuno. Nenhum estudo de nosso conhecimento realizou tal avalia����o no contexto brasileiro. Fizeram parte deste estudo pacientes com CMT decorrente da duplica����o 17p11.2-p12 (CMT1A) que foram avaliados quanto ao comprometimento funcional por meio da aplica����o do SF-36. Esse question��rio �� utilizado internacionalmente para aferir a qualidade de vida dos indiv��duos. Os resultados obtidos foram submetidos �� an��lise estat��stica. Como resultados n��o se observaram associa����es entre o g��nero e os dom��nios avaliados para a qualidade de vida. Os dados obtidos revelaram que a qualidade de vida dos pacientes com CMT1A se mostrou comprometida principalmente quanto aos seus Aspectos Sociais (p = 0,02) e Aspectos emocionais (p = 0,04). Adicionalmente, houve uma tend��ncia ao comprometimento da Capacidade Funcional (p = 0,08), sendo que os outros ��ndices de avalia����o de comprometimento f��sico se mostraram preservados. A presen��a ou aus��ncia de ocupa����o parece influenciar os Aspectos Sociais apresentando uma tend��ncia de diferen��a significativa (p = 0,07), possuindo o grupo com ocupa����o valores superiores. Apesar da CMT1A apresentar piora cl��nica ao longo dos anos, a idade mais avan��ada n��o implicou em uma pior percep����o da qualidade de vida no grupo de pacientes estudados no presente trabalho... This project aims to study the influence of information technology in the construction of new forms of citizenship. Examine the phenomenon of bullying behavior that makes people teased, laughter, sarcasm, irony, among other types of attacks. This is not only physically, but with moral violence, emotional or psychological. When there is an effective intervention against bullying, all individuals in the group start to suffer with this situation, which can lead to psychological disorders, hampering the progress of relations as well as team sports, over a period of training and competition. This article analyzed a sample of athletes in order to find behaviors that characterize the extent of bullying and can see the consequences of it, as early drop out. Through the results it was concluded that the actions that characterize bullying are present in very high performance football and may even lead to drop out the sport. We also evaluate the environments frequented by teams can become enhancers of this phenomenon, they are times when athletes have a living space and one that may become amenable to the events, plus the fact that many athletes have already thought about leaving the sport because to bullying
