There have been many researchers dedicating themselves to analyze behavior to get solutions to social problems. The practice of childhood sedentary lifestyle is a complex problem that evokes a public health concern. This article exposes a work field in which researches identify, describe and analyze verbal reports about effective contingencies at school. It introduces the practices of three teachers of physical education and their 62 students. The results suggest that actions that can support public policies toward mitigating health risks.

This article refl ects about the action of the school speech therapist presented in a panel discussion proposed by the Public Health Department entitled: “School time of inclusion: common teaching, special education and speech therapist’s action” during the 19th SBFa’s Congress at the WTC Sheraton in São Paulo. The refl ections triggered aimed to provide elements for the systematization of actions from different sectors guided by ethical principles, theory and practice that enable collaborative relationships between educators and speech therapists. The text mantained the order of presentations that have focused on: 1) the challenges of speech-language intervention in the processes of inclusion and exclusion of the school: from the promotion of oral and written language, to the approaches of the so-called language disorders; 2) the interface between Speech Therapy and Education; 3) the role of the speech therapist in the context of Inclusive and Special Education. The authors support the position that the work done at the interface Speech Therapy and Education has the potential to contribute to school’s inclusion processes that will be capable to subvert the discriminatory logic that imposes in daily school the binomium inclusion / exclusion. The theoretical and methodological approaches presented by the authors are supported in a humane and civic vision care, training and social participation.

Introduction: public health politics and education privilege school for disease prevention and healthpromotion activities. Objective: this paper describes inter-sector action for childhood accidentsprevention, teachers’ assessments and the knowledge of the students involved. Methods: it wasdone in a kindergarten City School in São Paulo interior. Thirty students from the Pre school secondyear, in the 5-6 age range and the teacher through a signed Consensus Term. The actions wereperformed in the classroom. Questionnaires were used with the teacher and school books with thechildren, formulated by speech and language pathology interns, who lead the actions in school.Results: the results showed an improvement in knowledge about children accident risks and formsof prevention by children and teacher. Conclusions: the educational activity was positively evaluatedfor both participant segments, being suggestive for other classes and/or schools, with health andeducation professionals’ partnership.

Objective: To characterize the communicative behaviors of children who entered in Primary School after the age of five. Methods: It was a descriptive study, held in a city at the countryside of Parana state (Brazil), in the years 2007 and 2008, in both school and home environments. Twelve children of both genders joined in the study, with age ranging from five years and two months to six years, besides their mothers and respective teachers. Interviews were conducted with mothers and a questionnaire for teachers. Afterwards, observations of the communication of children in school and home environments were conducted. Data analysis focused on those relevant to children’s development and school performance, trying to determine their communicative profile in school and home environments, from protocols regarding the indicators of communication means and functions. Results: The results indicated the presence of a child with poor general health, with complications from the pregnancy period, with motor and language delays and low school performance. It was also observed that all children used verbal means to communicate and the highest frequency of communicative functions appeared in home environment, indicating an important aspect to be considered in the stimulation of communication of these children. Conclusion: Data from this study showed that the children benefited more of contexts planned with family interlocutors.

É notória a crescente preocupação com os aspectos éticos e morais quando se refere à Educação no Brasil. Não poderia ser diferente com a Educação Física escolar, já que se trata de um componente curricular obrigatório dentro da Educação Básica. Apesar da tentativa crescente de conscientização da importância dos valores enquanto conteúdos explícitos na educação formal, não se têm claro quais deveriam fazer parte do planejamento dos professores. Esta pesquisa teve como objetivo geral realizar um levantamento de artigos em periódicos científicos da Educação Física que abordassem valores e atitudes presentes na disciplina. Em outras palavras buscou-se mapear e analisar quais valores e atitudes são esses na Educação Física, no contexto escolar. Para a seleção dos periódicos científicos analisados, foram seguidos os seguintes critérios: revistas específicas da Educação Física; trabalhos propostos à publicação julgados por pareceristas; acesso tanto ao resumo quanto ao trabalho na íntegra; acesso a todos os números das revistas publicados entre os anos de 1998 e 2007. A análise quantitativa constatou que o número de artigos científicos que abordaram o tema valores e atitudes nos últimos dez anos foi pequeno. Entre aproximadamente 1000 artigos analisados, foram localizados apenas 40 artigos. Apesar do número reduzido de artigos, observou-se uma tendência no aumento das publicações a partir de 2002, seguindo tendência da área da Educação. Valores como alteridade, socialização, voluntariedade, estética e saúde apareceram nos artigos analisados. O tema de valores e atitudes é discutido na produção científica da Educação Física, embora ainda de forma incipiente, e os temas analisados são bastante abrangentes.

Introdução: A prevenção e o controle das DCNT’s adquiridas com a prática regular de atividade física podem contribuir para a melhora da saúde dos indivíduos, e consequentemente, pode colaborar na redução do uso dos serviços de saúde e nos gastos referentes a esse serviço além de refletir uma melhor qualidade de vida do indivíduo. Objetivo: 1) Descrever as consultas realizadas pelos participantes do programa e 2)Analisar a influência da atividade física na utilização dos serviços de saúde. Metodologia: Esse trabalho é de caráter retrospectivo e transversal, e foi desenvolvido em Unidades de Saúde da Família no município de Rio Claro, SP. Dentre as 250 mulheres participantes do Programa de exercícios físicos em unidades Básicas de Saúde e Unidades Saúde da Família (USF), com faixa etária acima de 20 anos, foram selecionados dentre essesparticipantes aqueles que possuam prontuários nas sete Unidades Saúde da Família, totalizando 48 prontuários. Foram analisados 1350visitas às unidades no total. Foi analisado o uso dos serviços de saúde através do número de visitas ás unidades de saúde comparando os dados encontrados no ano anterior e no ano posterior do início do programa. Foi utilizado o Termo de Consentimento Livre e Esclarecido para os participantes da pesquisa. Foi realizada análise descritiva dos dados, utilizando-se frequência, média, desvio-padrão máximo e mínimo. Foi realizada análise de comparação dos dados contínuos. Resultados: O grupo participante do Programa Saúde Ativa Rio Claro eram em sua maioria idosos, com alto número de doenças crônicas, principalmente hipertensão (60,4%) e diabetes (37,5%), no entanto, menos da metade com uso de medicamentos para essas doenças. A maioria das consultas eram agendadas (61,7%) ou eram realizadas para triagem/acolhimento (23,0%), com uma menor frequência para controle de pressão arterial ou glicose (5,2%). Even though we have an advanced protective legislation regarding children, the maltreatment perpetrated against them is still considered a public health problem in our country, with significant rates in the 0 to 6 years old range. This practice results in serious damages to the development of the assaulted individual: mental health, social adaptation and integration, and even repetition of the learned model. The school, although required (art. 245, ECA) to denounce and notify suspected and/or proven cases of violence to the eligible public agencies, has a very low percentage of participation in these notifications. Therefore, the objective of this study was to map the conception, placement and forwarding done by kindergarten professional about suspected and/or proven cases of maltreatment in their students to determine how such phenomenon is known, recognized, (re)constructed and (re)produced in social relations. The surveyed institutions were five kindergarten public schools, located in a mid-size city in the state of São Paulo. The adopted methodological procedures were the collection and analysis of quantitative-qualitative data, based on the anthropological research method on urban social groups. To collect the data, we used the following instruments: the questionnaire (38) and the interviews (6), applied in the period of October/2009 to May/2010. The analysis of the obtained data indicated some factors that hinder an effective positioning in fighting violence: professionals report the presence of suspected maltreatment (45%), however, the allegations are not investigated; the lack of knowledge and/or distorted concepts about the legislation, and also indicators of the presence of maltreatment, of its negative consequences to the development of the child, the false belief in the sanctity of the family and that maltreatment only occurs in the ghetto, in the lower classes... Introduction: Physical inactivity is identified as the fourth greatest risk factor of mortality worldwide. Little is known about how physical inactivity alters the demand for use of primary health care services, and it is a subject which demands further investigation. Objective: This study aims to determine the influence that physical activity has on the demand for use of primary health care services. Methods: This is a retrospective and cross-sectional study. The Rio Claro Active Health Program (SARC), studied in this research, is a partnership between the Municipal Health Foundation and Universidade Estadual Paulista Julio de Mesquita Filho (UNESP), represented by the Nucleus of Physical Activity, Sport and Health (NAFES) department of Physical Education and coordinated by Prof. Dr. Eduardo Kokubun. The study was carried out on residents of Rio Claro of both sexes seen at SARC. To assess the influence that physical activity had on the demand of the use of health services a questionnaire was given to participants who had attended the program since 2009. This questionnaire contains questions concerning the level of physical activity, health service use, number of both blood pressure and glucose measurement takings, number of spontaneous and scheduled medical visits, number of medications taken, number of illnesses and hospitalizations, comparing the data found in the previous year and the year after the program began. An informed term of consent was used for research participants. Descriptive analysis was carried out, using frequency, mean, maximum and minimum standard deviation. The goal of this study was to identify some of the new responsibilities that have been assigned to the elementary school teachers , under the mediation of continuing education courses . We start from the idea that these courses , especially those offered by the SECADI, are proposed teachers and aims to train them for a performance at school that exceeds the activity of teaching in the classroom . The teacher has been summoned to attend these courses in which is prepared to act on school performing tasks rather related to the care of students than teaching , assisting them in their basic needs such as health, protection, inclusion and human rights. Asked ourselves if there was a reconfiguration of the responsibilities of education professionals in order to make use of oneself given by the State. We chose as sources of research documents the SECADI such as legislation , manuals and instructional materials that will proceed to the analysis , in each course , the target populations privileged , purpose, remuneration and certification , pre - requirements to participate in the courses and duration ; partnerships involved if the courses are face , semi-distance or distance ; activities that teacher should develop in school after completion of the courses ; loads hourly . We will seek to analyze the documents and materials of School programs that Protects, School Health Program , Network Education for Diversity. The theoretical and methodological framework is dialectical and historical materialism, from assumptions which we choose as the class character of society in capitalism and alienation as a phenomenon that affects the work in all its manifestations . The practice of regular physical activity has been widely recommended in the literature, indicating an improvement of the physical and psychological activities promoted through the routine of workers. In this sense, physical activity has become of great importance in the workplace, for the prevention of injuries caused by normalizing bodily functions and staff providing relaxation and socialization, basic elements of daily life a worker. This study aimed to analyze the effects of a active break program in the routine of workers in their mood and stress, even checking the influence of physical activity on quality of life of participants. We selected 15 individuals of both genders, the restaurant staff University, UNESP - Rio Claro-SP. The activities lasted four months, two times a week, at the beginning of the workday, for 15 minutes, followed by stretching and playful activity. The evaluations were answered a week before the execution of the program and lists of mood states have been answered before and after the activity, and the end of working hours and also at the beginning and end of the days when there were no interventions. After analyzing the results, we concluded that the participants have a good index of perception of quality of life with total score of 76.6 for mental and physical health and that all assets are considered in accordance with the recommendations of 150 minutes of physical activity per week. More than 50% of them have symptoms of stress found mostly in the resistance stage, and no changes were found in the mood states when practicing active break or not. We conclude that the changing of moods can be associated with the fact that workers are already active, another reason may be due to low number of participants in the study, given other studies show that there is a change and that active break interferes positively in mood states of individuals
