Um experimento de campo com diferentes níveis de irrigação e nitrogênio foi conduzido no Centro de Ciências Agrárias da Universidade Federal de Alagoas com o objetivo de determinar a função de produção e as isoquantas de produtividade agrícola da cana-de-açúcar com base nas lâminas de irrigação e doses de nitrogênio (N). A precipitação pluvial efetiva durante o ciclo de produção foi 1.037 mm e a lâmina de irrigação bruta máxima foi 873 mm. A produtividade agrícola ficou entre 118 e 188 Mg ha-1, média de 160 Mg ha-1. Na isoquanta da produtividade agrícola média da cana-de-açúcar, a taxa marginal de substituição de água por N é 0,36 kg mm-1 (na interseção das retas de 25 kg de N ha-1 e 760 mm de irrigação) e infinita (na interseção das retas de 125 kg de N ha-1 e 390 mm de irrigação). A quantidade de água e nitrogênio de menor custo para produzir 160 Mg ha-1 foi 390 mm de irrigação e 112 kg de N ha-1. A regressão polinomial de segundo grau apresentou ajuste médio (r2 = 62%) para a produtividade agrícola em relação às lâminas de irrigação e doses de nitrogênio. A resposta da cana-de-açúcar à adubação nitrogenada aumenta em proporção direta com disponibilidade hídrica do solo.

The present study aimed at evaluating the productive performance of Leporinus macrocephalus fed with different levels of inclusion of poultry viscera meal replacing fish meal. The experiment was conducted in a stove located in the Universidade Estadual do Oeste do Paraná during 45 days. We used 200 fish with average initial length of 4.7 ± 0.37 cm and average initial weight of 1.407 ± 0.03 g, distributed in 20 net-cages. The experimental design was randomized with five treatments and five replicates with five levels of replacement of fish meal by poultry viscera meal (0, 25, 50, 75, 100%). The parameters evaluated were the productive performance and the chemical composition of animals. The inclusion of poultry viscera meal in the substitution of fish meal in the feeding of Leporinus macrocephalus can be used without impairing the performance of the animals.

The artistic gymnastics is a modality that associates arts with biomechanical gestures, and it has been prominent among children and adolescents. Its practice can lead to sports injuries; therefore, it is important to know the factors inherent to trauma for the formulation of preventive models. Thus, the objective of this study was to characterize sports injuries and to verify factors associated with injury in people practicing artistic gymnastics with different levels of competitiveness. Forty-six gymnasts were interviewed with mean age of 10.1±2.0 years for female participants, who were classified in two competitive levels, i.e, initiation and training. We used the morbidity questionnaire adapted to sports characteristics to collect personal, training, and injury data. It was observed that injury risk was 0.3 injuries per athlete and 1.4 injuries per injured athlete, in which the gymnasts of the training category showed a higher frequency of the injury (83.3%; n=10) compared with the ones in the initiation category (10.5%; n=4). For both levels of competitiveness, training moment and light severity were the most reported variables. In the mechanism, contactless was more prevalent in the training category (90%; n=9) and the direct contact was more common at initiation category (75%; n=3). Anthropometric and training variables were considered as factors associated with injury to the gymnasts. It is concluded that gymnasts of the training category have higher injury frequency. Anthropometric and training variables were factors associated with injury. Characteristics of the injuries depend on the competitiveness level of the ­gymnasts.

Futsal is one of the most popular sports in Brazil, played on five continents, in hundreds of countries, but is still a poorly studied sports science. Among the types of training used in the preparation of soccer players, the collective training is one of the most used because it is a simulation game. The application of the training load is often made in large quantities (volume) with exercise duration and intensity greater than what the athlete can handle. Thus, this study aimed to evaluate the intensity of physical exertion of futsal players of basic category during collective training. We evaluated twenty (N=20) soccer players from two teams with different levels of training. There were ten players on a team federated (FED) and ten players on a team for a project extension (EXT). Samples were collected at the respective locations of training. An evaluation of anthropometric and during collective training heart rate was measured and at the end of each training time blood samples were collected for analysis of blood lactate concentration and perceived exertion of the players. There was significant difference between the two teams only in fat percentage (FED=13,4 e EXT=21,2). The average heart rate during training was 174 ± 12.2 bpm, which corresponds to 84% HRmax. There was significant difference between heart rate and the percentage of HRmax in the two parts of training in both teams. The Federated team players remained most of the time in more intense intensity zone (above 85% HRmax), while the EXT players were most of the time zone of moderate intensity (65-85% HRmax). The rating of perceived exertion (FED=3,5 e EXT=3,2) and blood lactate concentration (FED=2.4 mmol/L and EXT=2.9 mmol/L) showed no significant difference between the two teams and between the two times. With the emergence of areas degraded by human activities, the chemical soil properties and silvicultural characters became important in understanding the succession process of tree species and planning of landscape restoration. This study aimed to evaluate the distribution of tree species in areas with different levels of human disturbance, relating silvicultural aspects to the soil chemical properties and characterizing the type of vegetation, for integration of genetic conservation program in situ. The study was conducted in the area of Research and Extension Experimental Farm (FEPE) from UNESP, Ilha Solteira, in Selviria - MS. Through transect, 64 plots were marked 50 m equidistant with dimensions of 10 x 10 m, where: 29 plots were in an highly disturbed area (HDA), five in moderately disturbed area (MDA), 15 in lowly disturbed area (LDA), six in riparian stream of Vestia river (Riparian Forest) and nine in the legal reserve. Soil samples were collected at two depths (0.0 to 0.20 and 0.20 to 0.40 m) for the chemical analysis and the assessment of silvicultural characters, such as height, diameter at breast height (DBH) and shape. The study of the natural distribution of tree species and edaphic condition in the different evaluated areas showed that: the soil chemical properties associated with the level of human disturbance and conservation of the areas are influencing the natural occurrence, species diversity and development of the trees. Height, DBH and shape are good indicators to assess the growth of the tree community and relate them to soil chemical properties; LDA and legal reserve presented higher natural occurrence, number of individuals and number of species. In the riparian forest, basal area values, height, shape and chemical soil properties were higher. From the 97 species found, six have the potential to be used in a program of genetic conservation in situ. They are: Astronium fraxinifolium, Terminalia argentea, Curatella americana, Cupania vernalis, Qualea jundiahy and Andira cuyabensis.

Show caves provide tourists with the opportunity to have close contact with natural underground spaces. However, visitation to these places also creates a need for management measures, mainly the definition of tourist carrying capacity. The present work describes the results of climate monitoring and atmospheric profiling performed in Santana Cave (Alto Ribeira State and Tourist Park - PETAR, Brazil) between 2008 and 2011. Based on the results, distinct preliminary zones with different levels of thermal variation were identified, which classify Santana Cave as a warm trap. Two critical points along the tourist route (Cristo and Encontro Halls) were identified where the temperature of the locality increased by 1.3 degrees C when tourists were present. Air flow from the inner cave to the outside occurs during the austral summer, and the opposite flow occurs when the outside environment is colder than the air inside the cave during the austral winter. The temperature was used to establish thresholds to the tourist carrying capacity by computing the recovery time of the atmospheric conditions after the changes caused by the presence of tourists. This method suggests a maximum limit of approximately 350 visits per day to Santana Cave. The conclusion of the study is that Santana Cave has an atmosphere that is highly connected with the outside; daily variations in temperature and, to a lesser extent, in the relative humidity occur throughout the entire studied area of the cave. Therefore, the tourist carrying capacity in Santana Cave can be flexible and can be implemented based on the climate seasonality, the tourism demand and other management strategies.
