At first, this paper presents the epistemological and theoretical bases that support the inclusion of an operational concept for the findability of information in the field of Information Science. In a second moment, it defines the key attributes and recommendations for the findability of information, with a view to their understanding in a practical perspective, from the epistemological and theoretical support presented. From a theoretical, exploratory, bibliographic and documentary study, the results reveal that epistemologically the findability of information fits in Information Science in post-custodial paradigm that focuses on access to information and is significantly influenced by Information and Communication Technologies. The theoretical conclusions of this concept focus on the evolution of the Web and from the perspective of the dimensions of language, where there is as pragmatic trend, as technological development that combines the actions taken by informational and institutional individuals in digital information environments. Given that these actions turn enable or not the findability of information, these individuals can be understood as mediators. Therefore, the concept of infocommunicational mediation is the basis for the findability of information. For its application in digital information environments, were defined attributes and guidelines which should be considered in the context of Information Architecture. The attributes characterizing the concept and guidelines point at practical actions for the design and for evaluation of the findability of information. Epistemological, theoretical and practical concepts addressed underpin the called operative concept in information science and should be further explored in this scientific field.

The current nature of World Wide Web (Web), which highlights the collaborative participation of users in some digital information environments, lead to development of guidelines with a focus on Inclusive Digital Information Architecture for a different audiences in multiples informational ambiences. This research proposes guidelines for a inclusive digital information environment, aiming to identify the elements of accessibility that allow the promotion of inclusion digital information, in order to highlight the references of the Architecture of Digital Information, the international recommendations and the structures representation of information (specially accessibility attributes), with the look of Information Science and New Technologies of Information and Communication. The thesis is as to the need to develop methodologies with guidelines that contemplate the elements of digital accessibility focused on the task of the user. The research problem is that actual methodologies and recommendations used for the development of digital information environments do not cover all the elements of accessibility with a focus on user needs. The proposition is to present, through a methodological approach (exploratory and descriptive), a theoretical-methodological proposal to promote elements of digital accessibility to the development of digital information environments, for users with or without special needs. The overall objective of this study is to contribute to the development of inclusive digital information environments, in perspective of union of theories, recommendations and technologies for the development of digital accessibility guidelines. In a theoretical dimension, the research covers a critical review of the specialized literature in the areas of Information Science and Computer Science and, in the applied part, the analysis and development of a proposal of guidelines for the architecture of a digital information environment with accessibility.

Obtaining accurate estimates of the volume of stacked wood is important in view of the increasing value of wood as raw material. Therefore, the forest companies have become increasingly concerned about the methods currently used to convert cubic meters for stereo. In this context, emerged the need of optimizing the measurement process and accuracy of the volume of stacked wood. For this, companies have been testing methods with greater efficiency, speed and low operating cost. Existing methods made through approximate equations, and also by determining the conversion factor, called the stacking factor (Fe), are questioned, due to errors and inaccuracies. The use of digital photographs is an alternative method that would minimize operator intervention, allowing greater control and speed the process, thus eliminating part of the imprecision of the traditional method. The use of the method is viable, due to present an error of about 10% while traditional methods showed an error of 17%

As concepções sobre a importância do ensino da educação física escolar sofreram inúmeras mudanças desde a sua implementação como matéria no currículo da escola. Segundo SOARES (1994), a cultura corporal de movimento, é o conhecimento que constitui o conteúdo da educação física, esta é representada pela ginástica, esportes, lutas, capoeira, atividades físicas de aventura, práticas corporais alternativas, jogos, circo e dança. Os PCNs trazem uma proposta de problematizar os conteúdos de ensino, elencando alguns dos principais problemas que a sociedade deve se atentar para se manter equilibrada, estes são denominados Temas Transversais. Este estudo tem como propósito é investigar as relações entre o Meio Ambiente e a Educação Física na perspectiva da cultura corporal de movimento, mostrando que é possível o trabalho de ambas temáticas em conjunto. Em paralelo a isso, o estudo também tem como objetivo a elaboração de uma proposta de organização dos conteúdos que relacionam algumas temáticas do Meio Ambiente com os alguns conteúdos da Educação Física. Para o (PCN/BRASIL 1998), o papel da educação em relação ao meio ambiente é proporcionar para o aluno a possibilidade da construção de um mundo socialmente justo e ecologicamente equilibrado. O que requer responsabilidade coletiva e individual de qualquer individuo planetário, interferindo no modo como a sociedade programa as prioridades no seu cotidiano. Esta interferência só será possível se houver a construção dos conceitos gerando uma assimilação de valores. Para isso, propomos uma organização curricular dos conteúdos da educação física juntamente com as temáticas ambientais. Esta proposta teve como finalidade abranger o segundo ciclo do ensino fundamental. Cartography is one of the languages that express the knowledge of the geographic space and, therefore, the official curriculum proposals have highlighted the importance of the geography teaching which articulates its contents with this language in primary education. So, we present an analysis of the content selected to the curriculum mapping specifications of the São Paulo faz escola material, specifically for the 6th year of Elementary School II, version 2009. From the perspective of qualitative research, with instruments and techniques of quantitative and qualitative research, we analyzed documents and observed little concern with the proposition works that present the physical and social characteristics of the state of São Paulo. Also, we noticed the lack of concern with representations in local and regional scales. The research brings many examples on the global scale. It explores few activities using graphics and charts. Despite bringing thematic maps in their entirety, it does not show an example of conical projection as well as cartograms and anamorphosis. The biometric characteristics have been used increasingly as a way to identify an individual, mainly for security reasons. Among them, the fingerprint is the most used biometric characteristic around the world, because it is relatively simple and very efficient. In this scene, there was a significant increase in the size of databases containing information on fingerprints, necessary to perform the recognition of a person. The task of classifying them beforehand has become extremely important as it reduces dramatically the size of the problem during a search, because it is not necessary to go through the whole database. Considering its importance, in the last thirty years, many techniques have been developed to try to increase the efficiency of the classification process. This project followed the rules-based approach and the Software Development Kit (SDK) VeriFinger 6.1 was used to assist in the detection of cores and deltas. Additionally, the classification was also implemented by means of directional map and the Poincar´e index. The project is a platform for education that provides a way where teachers can create and share educational content for their classes, and students can download that content to refer to it at any time. The solution is based on two Windows Phone 7 Apps: Kookaburra Teachers, where teachers can add content to their classes, and Kookaburra Students, where students can download and view the content of classroom. To realize the communication between these two applications, we use a Windows Azure server, that server is also responsible for processing some conversions, enabling real-time translation. This work aimed to investigate the possible contributions of the use of digital resources in the teaching and learning process of Commercial and Financial Mathematics concepts to high school students. Its development has included a survey of some researches on the topic as well as an experimental study of a qualitative type, in which the Webquest was used as methodology. It uses the computer, more precisely the internet resources, to assist students in building up knowledge. Eight meetings were held, in the after-school period, with a group of students of the second year of high school at a state public school in the city of Guaratinguetá. Aiming to evaluate the knowledge that students had about the theme, it was applied a diagnosis at first glance for further analysis and development of activities and interventions according to the students’ answers. Once the research data was analyzed, it was noted that the students had little knowledge regarding the basic contents of Commercial and Financial Mathematics, in addition to presenting difficulties in handling some of the digital resources used in the meetings. Nonetheless, from the students’ works, it was seen significant advances in understanding and building up knowledge on concepts such as percentage, simple and compound interest, savings, and sales involving prompt payment or in arrears
Políticas culturais, participação e educação: o caso da rede Arte Cultura Rio Claro - SP (2008-2012)

No atual momento as redes sociais, fazendo uso dos meios digitais/virtuais e partindo para ações no real/presencial, têm tido cada vez mais papel político importante nas transformações das relações humanas. Nestas redes há compartilhamentos de diversas informações, documentos e materiais com conteúdos que auxiliam na formação, assimilação e aprendizagem tanto pelos participantes diretos destas redes quanto pelos demais sujeitos e cidadãos influenciados pelas ideais elaboradas a partir destas redes. Este projeto pretende estudar a rede “Arte Cultura Rio Claro” no período 2008 a 2012 tendo como foco a realização da I Conferência Municipal de Política Cultural e as lutas pela criação do Conselho Municipal de Política Cultural. O trabalho abordará: as trocas e compartilhamentos entre os integrantes desta rede, a realização de encontros, reuniões, fóruns; o recebimento do Prêmio do Ministério da Cultura como ‘Articulação da Rede’ e a realização do Projeto “Tuxáua”; a realização das pré-conferências e 1ª Conferência Municipal de Política Cultural; a criação do Conselho Municipal de Política Cultural; entre outros. O objetivo do projeto é avaliar a rede como processo participativo, mostrando a relevância da política cultural para a educação não-formal de uma comunidade, principalmente por conta das pautas desta rede trazerem tanto a importância de valorizar a diversidade cultural, quanto a importância da participação cidadã nas decisões políticas

The use of physical characteristics for human identification is known as biometrics. Among the many biometrics traits available, the fingerprint is the most widely used. The fingerprint identification is based on the impression patterns, as the pattern of ridges and minutiae, characteristics of first and second levels respectively. The current identification systems use these two levels of fingerprint features due to the low cost of the sensors. However, the recent advances in sensor technology, became possible to use third level features present within the ridges, such as the perspiration pores. Recent studies show that the use of third-level features can increase security and fraud protection in biometric systems, since they are difficult to reproduce. In addition, recent researches have also focused on multibiometrics recognition due to its many advantages. The goal of this research project was to apply fusion techniques for fingerprint recognition in order to combine minutia, ridges and pore-based methods and, thus, provide more robust biometrics recognition systems, and also to develop an automated fingerprint identification system using these three methods of recognition. We evaluated isotropic-based and adaptive-based automatic pore extraction methods, and the fusion of pore-based method with the identification methods based on minutiae and ridges. The experiments were performed on the public database PolyUHRF and showed a reduction of approximately 16% in the EER compared to the best results obtained by the methods individually
