In view of theoretic increase in efficiency of nitrogen fertilizers for controlled release, this study aimed to evaluate the effect of nitrogen, using conventional urea and ureas coated by different polymers, in the leaf N content, leaf chlorophyll index, components production and grain yield of irrigated corn in growing season and second crop in the savannah region. The experiments were conducted at experimental area belonging to UNESP - Ilha Solteira, located in Selviria - MS in a dystrophic Red Latosol (Haplustox), clayey texture. The statistical design was randomized blocks, with four repetitions, in a 4 x 4 factorial arrangement, being four nitrogen doses (0, 40, 80 and 120 kg ha(-1)) applied at sidedressing and four urea sources (a conventional urea and three coated with polymers in different compositions and concentrations). The coated ureas are not efficient under the soil and climate conditions studied of the savanna, because they provided results similar to the conventional urea for the production components and grain yield of corn in the first and second crop. The increment of nitrogen doses increase linearly the leaf N content and grain yield of corn in the first and second crop.

The objective of this work was to study the intercropping of Brachiaria brizantha. Marandu with soybeans. The experiment has been planted in a 3 year prevailing area with no-tillage, in eutrophic Oxisol at Maripa - PR. The experimental design was a randomized block with five replications. For the forage study, four treatments were performed which consisted of seeding times brachiaria [early ( seven days before planting soybeans) joint (same day of soybean planting) and after (at stages V-3 and R-1 culture)] intercropping with soybean. To study the yield and crude protein and oil levels of the grain were adopted six treatments, which consisted of sowing dates of capim Marandu [early (seven days before planting soybeans), joint (same day of soybean planting) after (V-3, R-1 and R-5 soybean) and in single culture (single)]. The forager higher productivity of dry matter occurs with early sowing, however, the greatest reduction in soybean yield also occurs in this case. The sowing of Brachiaria until R-5 soy has no influence on the nutritional value of the forage. The intercropped of soybean with Brachiaria brizantha. Marandu has no impact on the leaf Nitrogen content, oil content and enzyme activity of soybean peroxidase. The highest yield of soybeans occurs when it is grown single or Brachiaria is sown in stage R-5. The crude protein content of soybean grain is reduced when brachiaria seeding is early or together with soybeans compared to single culture.

Nutrient accumulation curves help us understand the nutritional demands of a crop. The aim of this study was to evaluate the growth and accumulation of macronutrients by the sweet sorghum cultivars CVSW80007, CVSW80147, CVSW82028, CVSW82158. The experiment was conducted in a renewal sugarcane ratoon area at Uchoa county, SP, being deployed in January 2012. The plants were collected in 15 days intervals from the 10th after emergence (DAE). The greatest content of dry matter, N, P, Mg and S, was due to by the CVSW82028 cultivar, while the CVSW82158 extract the greatest amount of K and the CVSW80147 of Ca. The stalks represented the highs percentage of dry matter and nutrient content, except nitrogen and phosphorus, in which grains corresponded to the higher percentage of total absorption. The CVSW80007, CVSW82028 and CVSW82158 cultivars showed the following decreasing nutrient extraction N>K>Ca>Mg>P>S and the CVSW80147, K>N>Ca>Mg>P>S. Considering only the stalks harvest, the decreasing nutrient exportation is the same for all cultivars: K>N>Ca>Mg>S>P. Whereas the decreasing nutrient exportation sequence considering stalks and grain harvest is the following for the CVSW80007, CVSW80147 and CVSW82158 cultivars: K>N>Ca>Mg>P>S and K>N>Ca>Mg>P>S for the CVSW82028.
