Construções gramaticais e questões estilísticas no livro Piccoli equivoci senza importanza, de Antonio Tabucchi

The translation project of some short stories of the book Piccoli equivoci senza importanza, written by the Italian writer Antonio Tabucchi, was performed during the academic years. This thesis target is to analyze grammatical and stylistic issues of the short stories; to achieve this goal, parts of the original texts and their respective translations were used. The grammar section approaches important aspects as idioms, false cognates and different verb regencies between Portuguese and Italian. The stylistic part focuses on Tabucchi´s choices regarding the narrator, focalization, types of speech and interior monologues in his texts; these options characterize the Italian writer´s style and make his stories plots intense. As a conclusion it can be noticed that this work is relevant to give a forward step in the Italian literature studies field, because it contributes to an important author style study and provides the analysis of which choices compound the text and the effects they cause

Expressão de genes relacionados a cálcio e glutamato no hipocampo de pacientes com epilepsia do lobo temporal

A epilepsia do lobo temporal (ELT) é a principal forma de epilepsia, e a principal lesão desenvolvida por pacientes com ELT é a esclerose mesial temporal (EMT) apresentando perda neuronal, gliose e atrofia da região do hipocampo. Os íons cálcio são fundamentais para o funcionamento de inúmeras vias metabólicas em todos os níveis fisiológicos e desempenham papel fundamental nas respostas de despolarização neuronal. Foi comprovado que a ativação tanto de receptores ionotrópicos quanto metabotrópicos de glutamato promove o influxo anormal de Ca2+ para o meio intracelular, potencializando o efeito de excitação associado à EMT. O cálcio atua tanto como mensageiro celular secundário, quanto primário através da interação com um receptor específico na superfície celular, o Receptor Sensor de Cálcio (CASR). O CASR é expresso em diversas regiões do cérebro, incluindo o hipocampo, no entanto são desconhecidas muitas das possíveis funções desempenhadas por este receptor no cérebro. Ele pertence à família de receptores acoplados a proteína-G, e exibe homologia significativa com os receptores metabotrópicos de glutamato (mGluRs). Ademais, os mGluRs regulam a expressão da família de proteínas ligantes de cálcio neuronal, da qual faz parte a proteína VILIP-1, associada especificamente com o fenômeno da plasticidade sináptica no cérebro. O objetivo deste projeto foi determinar a expressão das proteínas CASR, mGluR1 e VILIP-1 em tecidos de hipocampo de pacientes com epilepsia do lobo temporal comparando com a expressão de tecidos de indivíduos normais. Os três genes encontraram-se subexpressos nos tecidos de pacientes com ELT, sendo que os tecidos dos pacientes, em grau crônico da doença, justificam tais graus de expressão. Uma viagem entre Tabucchi, Pessoa e Pirandello: proposta de tradução de Il signor Pirandello è desiderato al telefono, de Antonio Tabucchi

The present monography consists in a translation of the play “Il signor Pirandello è desiderato al telefono”, by the Italian writer Antonio Tabucchi. This translation is still unpublished in Brazil. The introduction emphasizes the relevance of this translation in the Brazilian literary context, due to its goal of dissemination of a piece that, besides presenting the contemporary author’s characteristics, shows the aspects of two important writers in the 20th century, Fernando Pessoa and Luigi Pirandello. The introduction also brings some biographical and bibliographical data about the involved authors. In the development section, before the translation itself, there is a selection of comments about the translated play, with the objective of contributing to the constitution of the Brazilian reader’s context. In our conclusion, there are the last comments about the translation and the importance of the monography to its writer

Crescimento relativo de Aegla castro Schmitt, 1942 (Crustacea, Anomura, Aeglidae)

Os crustáceos anomuros do gênero Aegla Leach (1820) são animais bentônicos característicos das águas continentais da América do Sul. Podem ser encontrados em arroios e rios de correnteza, ocultos sob pedras e detritos vegetais. Foram descritas 61 espécies desse gênero, que se encontram distribuídas pela região Neotropical com limites norte no município de Franca, no Estado de São Paulo, Brasil e sul na Ilha de Madre de Diós, na Província de Última Esperanza, Chile. Esses animais são considerados importantes elos nas cadeias alimentares dos ambientes líminicos, atuando como predadores de larvas aquáticas de insetos e são presas de aves, rãs, jacarés e peixes. Podem também ser utilizados como bioindicadores na avaliação de qualidade das águas onde ocorrem, uma vez que são bastante sensíveis a mudanças do ambiente. Apesar do expressivo número de espécies do gênero Aegla descritas, existem poucos estudos sobre sua dinâmica populacional, especialmente no que diz respeito a análises enfocando crescimento relativo. O objetivo deste trabalho foi caracterizar o crescimento relativo da espécie Aegla castro no município de Itatinga, interior do Estado de São Paulo. Os eglídeos foram coletados mensalmente durante um ano (Mar/07 a Fev/08) no município de Itatinga. Os animais amostrados foram obtidos mediante esforço de coleta e armadilhas. Para o primeiro método, os exemplares foram coletados com puçás ou peneiras posicionados próximos a pedras e seixos, os quais foram removidos manualmente para desalojar os animais que porventura estejam ali abrigados. No segundo método, foram instaladas armadilhas iscadas no final do período da tarde e recolhidas na manhã do dia seguinte. Constructions of ideal lattices with full diversity

In this paper, we present new constructions of ideal lattices for the Rayleigh fading channel in Euclidean spaces with full diversity. These constructions are through totally real subfields of cyclotomic fields, obtained by endowing their ring of integers. With this method we reproduce rotated versions of algebraic lattices where the performance in terms of minimum product distance is related with the field determinant.

Goppa codes through polynomials of B[X;(1/2^2)Z_0] and its decoding principle

In this paper, we present a decoding principle for Goppa codes constructed by generalized polynomials, which is based on modified Berlekamp-Massey algorithm. This algorithm corrects all errors up to the Hamming weight $t\leq 2r$, i.e., whose minimum Hamming distance is $2^{2}r+1$.

In this paper, we have given a construction technique of the cyclic, BCH, alternant, Goppa and Srivastava codes over these rings. Though, initially in \cite{AP} it is for local ring $(\mathcal{A},\mathcal{M})$, in this paper, this new approach have given a choice in selection of most suitable code in error corrections and code rate perspectives.

Fields of two power conductor

The goal of this work is find a description for fields of two power conductor. By the Kronecker-Weber theorem, these amounts to find the subfields of cyclotomic field $\mathbb{Q}(\xi_{2^r})$, where $\xi_{2^r}$ is a $2^r$-th primitive root of unit and $r$ a positive integer. In this case, the cyclotomic extension isn't cyclic, however its Galois group is generated by two elements and the subfield can be expressed by $\mathbb{Q}(\theta)$ for a $\theta\in\mathbb{Q}(\xi_{2^r})$ convenient.

Saddle Point and Second Order Optimality in Nondifferentiable Nonlinear Abstract Multiobjective Optimization

This article deals with a vector optimization problem with cone constraints in a Banach space setting. By making use of a real-valued Lagrangian and the concept of generalized subconvex-like functions, weakly efficient solutions are characterized through saddle point type conditions. The results, jointly with the notion of generalized Hessian (introduced in [Cominetti, R., Correa, R.: A generalized second-order derivative in nonsmooth optimization. SIAM J. Control Optim. 28, 789–809 (1990)]), are applied to achieve second order necessary and sufficient optimality conditions (without requiring twice differentiability for the objective and constraining functions) for the particular case when the functionals involved are defined on a general Banach space into finite dimensional ones.

A decoding procedure which improves code rate and error corrections

Corresponding to $C_{0}[n,n-r]$, a binary cyclic code generated by a primitive irreducible polynomial $p(X)\in \mathbb{F}_{2}[X]$ of degree $r=2b$, where $b\in \mathbb{Z}^{+}$, we can constitute a binary cyclic code $C[(n+1)^{3^{k}}-1,(n+1)^{3^{k}}-1-3^{k}r]$, which is generated by primitive irreducible generalized polynomial $p(X^{\frac{1}{3^{k}}})\in \mathbb{F}_{2}[X;\frac{1}{3^{k}}\mathbb{Z}_{0}]$ with degree $3^{k}r$, where $k\in \mathbb{Z}^{+}$. This new code $C$ improves the code rate and has error corrections capability higher than $C_{0}$. The purpose of this study is to establish a decoding procedure for $C_{0}$ by using $C$ in such a way that one can obtain an improved code rate and error-correcting capabilities for $C_{0}$.

By means of tensile strength, NiCr total crowns were removed from machine-made conical abutments composed by an Ti-6Al-4V alloy. In a total of 20 abutments, 10 were used with it surface presenting high smoothness and 10 abutments had its surfaces modifi ed by laser both cemented with zinc phosphate. The mechanical test was performed at a MTS 810 universal machine adjusted to a speed of 0.5 mm/m. The statistical analysis was done by Levene’s test, which showed homogeneity of variances among groups (F =2.21; p < 0.1). “Student t test” showed that signifi cant differences were found between groups. The modifi cation of the abutment surface through laser caused an increase in pull-out resistance of crowns cemented with zinc phosphate from 430.66 N to 1.514,87 N.
