A estética da imagem na TV digital

This text reflects on the techniques and the process of image production and its artistic composition to digital television in high defini- tion, whereas the 4:3 and 16:9 formats will exist until shutdown of the analog signal. Within this period, consumers of television programming that have analog receivers will continue to see the images in 4:3 format. That fact determines that the productions in high definition, while capturing images with larger viewing area and have high contrast ratio (>1000:1) must be main- tain the elements of visual storytelling within the smallest area and with the contrast ratio of the analog tv (30:1), at the risk of distorting visually the messages produced by the directors.

Produção e estética dos conteúdos televisivos em ambiente de convergência: o caso da TV Unesp

Novos processos de produção de conteúdo estão reconfigurando os organogramas e os fluxogramas de setores ligados à criação de programas informativos e de entretenimento nas emissoras de televisão. A elaboração de conteúdos centrados em um modo de Comunicação que procura contemplar a participação e a colaboração da audiência nas construções discursivas impõe a existência de estruturas capazes de responder às demandas de uma plataforma multimídia, engendrada por tecnologias que possibilitem a conectividade entre os diversos dispositivos móveis e portáteis. Além de evidenciar os desafios de caráter organizacional, o presente trabalho, baseado em pesquisa bibliográfica e documental, tem como objetivo discutir as implicações estéticas dos conteúdos gerados para o consumo multimídia. Assim, toma como objeto de análise a estrutura e a programação da Televisão Universitária Unesp, da Universidade Estadual Paulista, em fase de implantação no campus de Bauru-SP.

Analysis of cement slurries by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry with axial viewing

The feasibility of Portland cement analysis by introduction of slurries in an inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometer (ICP-OES) with axial viewing has been evaluated. After a fast manual grinding of the cement samples, owing to the pulverized state of this material, 0.1% m/v slurries were prepared in 1% v/v HCl. The calibration was performed adopting two strategies: one based on slurries prepared from different masses (50, 75, 100 and 125 mg) of a Portland cement standard reference material (NIST SRM 1881), and the other one based on aqueous reference solutions. A complete analysis of cement for major (Al, Ca, Fe, Mg and Si), minor and trace elements (Mn, P, S, Sr and Ti) was accomplished. Both strategies led to accurate results for commercial Portland cement samples, except for Si and Ti. for which the calibration with aqueous reference solutions resulted in low values. Applying a paired t-test it was shown that most results were in agreement at a 95% confidence level with a conventional fusion decomposition procedure. The ICP-OES with axial viewing and end-on gas configuration for removal of the recombination plasma zone was effective for cement slurry analysis without any undesirable particle deposition in the pre-optics interface and without severe spectral interferences. Synchronizing Brazilian Sign Language (LIBRAS) on videos for Open Digital TV with educational purposes

The TV is a potential midia of communication that affects all social classes and it is available in 98% of Brazilian homes. It has been used as a distributor of educational materials since the 1950s. By 2016 the Open Digital TV (ODTV) in Brazil might cover the entire national territory, replacing the TV with analog signals. Concerns about accessibility for People with Special Needs (PSN) in that media have become more intense since the 1990s worldwide. In Brazil, it is estimated 24.6 million of PSN, 23% of them having some type of hearing loss. Of these, 2.9% are reported as deafs. Brazilian Sign Language (LIBRAS) is considered the first literacy language for deaf people in Brazil. In this context, this paper presents a proposal to facilitate the generation of educational content for ODTV based on two components. One is called SynchrLIBRAS and allows subtitles synchronization in Portuguese and a LIBRAS translator window of videos downloaded from the Web. The second component allows the visualization of this content through the Brazilian System of Digital TV and IPTV - environments that implement the middleware Ginga-NCL. The main focus of this paper is the presentation of the first component: SynchrLIBRAS. This proposal has educational purposes, contributing to teach LIBRAS to people who may collaborate with social inclusion of the deaf people.
