The metropolitan region of São Paulo is the most populous of the country, this happens because of its great importance in the national economy and the job opportunities that are offered to the population. These factors result in intense population growth and urban expansion, reaching some non-habitable places of the metropolis, as areas of pipelines, which are very important for the transportation of natural gas, oil and its derivatives. Before the population growth of the region, these sites were unoccupied, do not presenting problems for the population. However, with the disorderly occupation is generated great anthropogenic pressure on the pipeline stitches, causing risks to people who are around them. Therefore it is extremely important to monitor the strip of pipelines through products and techniques of remote sensing and geoprocessing, enabling, through high spatial resolution images, identification of objects or phenomena that occur on Earth's surface that can alter the functioning and safety of pipelines. Therefore, this study aims to monitor a stretch of the area of the pipeline mesh GASPAL/OSVAT and Capuava Refinery (RECAP), located on the outskirts of the metropolitan area of São Paulo in the city of Mauá, who suffer great human pressure, proving thus the techniques of remote sensing and geographic information system (GIS) as effective tools for monitoring phenomena occurred in urban areas of great complexity. The monitoring was done by object-based classification applied in orbital images Ikonos II and RapidEye, of high spatial resolution and, image processing, detection of objects, segmentation, classification and editing were developed through the eCognition and ArcGis softwares. A realidade contemporânea das relações institucionais: desafios e oportunidades para as Relações Públicas

The contemporary organizations establish complex networks of relationships with their audiences. However, it is the socio-historical setting of the organizations that allow that their internal structures, management and culture as well as their interests and goals in relation to the macro social environment to be understood. To understand what is currently proposed as institutional relations, it is necessary to search on that socio-historical source the progress in the studies of management and organizational communication aiming to prove the assumptions underlying this strategic role within organizations. In order to do that, this project raises ethnographic aspects of the institutional relationships to see what is proposed by the organizations and, therefore, highlights the lack of detailed studies in this area. Extensão universitária e trabalho voluntário na formação do acadêmico em odontologia

The aim of the present study was to point out the importance of the experience of undergraduate dental students in extra-curricular activities and volunteer work, as a means through which to gain essential knowledge and abilities for their professional lives. A literature review of the Medline, Scielo, and Lilacs databases was carried out in an attempt to select articles related to the university extension and volunteer work of undergraduate dental students. It is still extremely difficult to include university extension and volunteer work as an important activity in Dentistry courses. However, the presentday work market demands professionals who have expertise not only in dental techniques, but also in the socio-cultural characteristics of communities, considering that people need to be comprehensive in their psychosocial aspects in order to be treated as a complete professional. Therefore, university dentistry courses should give equal consideration to both oral rehabilitation skills and the promotion of general healthcare, acquired mainly through extracurricular activities, in an attempt to redeem the integral education of the healthcare professional. Moreover, students should pay closer attention to the opportunities offered during their undergraduate courses, as the work market for dentists is becoming more and more competitive. Moreover, the dentist whose professional life is limited to the dental office will most certainly forgo the opportunity to act in other social areas as well as the recognition that comes with such acts.

Formulação não linear: novas oportunidades para a produção de aves e melhoria da rentabilidade

As atuais estratégias de formulação exigiram a aplicação de novas ferramentas computacionais, que utilizam a modelagem matemática, dando suporte na tomada de decisão para uma nutrição de precisão. Por este motivo, destaca-se a programação não linear, que não visa apenas formular uma dieta que atenda as necessidades do animal, segundo o custo mínimo, mas também maximizar a margem de lucro. Assim, o presente trabalho teve como objetivo validar a utilização do modelo/princípio não linear (PNL), com maximização do retorno econômico, através de estimativas de desempenho das aves e dos custos da ração, segundo a variação de preço do kg do frango de corte (preço médio histórico de 2009 e 2010), as fases de criação e do sexo. Para tanto, foram utilizados 480 pintos de corte, 240 machos e 240 fêmeas de mesma linhagem (Cobb 500), no período de 1 a 56 dias de idade. O delineamento experimental foi inteiramente ao acaso, totalizando 6 tratamentos (aumentado ou diminuído em 25% ou 50% o preço médio histórico), com 4 repetições e 10 aves por parcela experimental. As aves foram alimentadas ad libitum com água e rações experimentais, formuladas à base de milho, farelo de soja, óleo de soja, suplemento vitamínico e mineral, calcário e fosfato bicálcico. Foi avaliado o desempenho (ganho de peso, consumo e conversão alimentar), consumo total energético e lucro nas diferentes fases (inicial, crescimento e terminação). O consumo de ração mostrou diferença significativa (P<0,05) entre as dietas que foram formuladas segundo o princípio não linear e linear. O consumo total energético foi significativamente influenciado (P<0,05) tanto pelo princípio de formulação como pela variação do preço histórico do frango, sendo o esperado, uma vez que essa condição é que viabiliza a aplicação do modelo para máximo lucro. Quanto ao lucro foi demonstrado que o princípio de formulação não linear permite minimizar as perdas significativamente (P<0,05), principalmente em condições desfavoráveis do preço do frango no mercado. Conclui-se que a programação não linear favorece a nutrição de precisão, partindo de um principio que este método oferece novas oportunidades para a produção de aves e melhorias de rentabilidade.

Exigências familiares e do trabalho: um equilíbrio necessário para a saúde de trabalhadores e organizações

This article aims, through a theoretical essay, to promote a reflection about the new roles played by people in families, at work and at the society in general. Based on papers and scientific bibliography, it broaches the changes at the contemporary society, linked to changes on world of work and family relationships, focused on the unbalance at family-work relation. Some current organizational initiatives were cited as plans of prevention and improvement of worker health, which affect their relations. It was considered the need of reconstruction of gender stereotypes and reducing the inequality of opportunity between people as focal points for changing a current scenario, which prevails in the lack of balance between requirements that can generate negative consequences both for health the individual and their families and for the organization.
