SCHOOL PROTECTION SYSTEM: PROTECTING WHO, FROM WHOM?

The main objective of this article is to analyze the policy implanted in the schools in the State of São Paulo, Brazil, with a view to the prevention and intervention in the violence that occurs in the schools. The importance of such discussion is related to the analysis of the principles that are present and of the possible effectiveness of such a program in the school violence. This research is qualitative and the research methodology used was documentary analysis. The documents analyzed were those related to the policy of preventing violence in schools in the state of São Paulo/Brazil, called Protection System School. (C) 2012 Published by Elsevier Ltd. Planning nursing teaching: Educational purposes and clinical competence

Thinking about nursing education implies articulating this issue with the expressions of theoretical frameworks, from the perspective of a pedagogical aspect that includes both constructivism and competencies. The objective was to characterize, from a longitudinal view, the construction of care competencies that exist in the teaching plans of nursing undergraduate programs. This exploratory-descriptive study used a qualitative approach. Documentary analysis was performed on the nine teaching plans of undergraduate care subjects. The ethical-legal aspects were guaranteed, so that data was collected only after the study had been approved by the Research Ethics Committee. The data evidenced a curriculum organization centered on subjects, maintaining internal rationales that seem to resist summative organizations. Signs emerge of hardly substantial links between any previous knowledge and the strengthening of critical judgment and clinical reasoning. As proposed, the study contributed with reconsiderations for the teachinglearning process and showed the influence of constructivism on the proposal of clinical competencies.

Da crítica diplomática à análise tipológica: abordagens e técnicas de análise documental

This study, of an instrumental nature, discusses the theoretical differences which underpin the documentary analysis models used in traditional Diplomatics and Contemporary Diplomatics. Undoubtedly, both models of analysis contribute to the understanding of the sources -a vital point of the process of analyzing the document to be used in any area. Thus, the choice of either technique must take into account the goals proposed for the research, according to the object that is taken as the reference point: the archival series or the individual document. That way, issues such as the evidential value and diplomatic authenticity are important within the Archival Science, which seeks through auxiliary disciplines to verify the historical trail of the document, from the moment of its production, usage and archiving, as well as the various custodians, contributing in a large measure to the understanding of its information -what is registered as well as the context- in its broadest sense.
