Eastern Taerma bridge-Zhakang was found in recent years to be the second spot of Ordovician outcrop based on reliable fossils. The nautiloids described here include one new genus, two new species and one indeterminate species,which represent only a small fraction of the nautiloids collected from this area. They are new materials of Ordovician nautiloids that have been determined up to now, which enrich Ordovician nautiloid faunal assemblages as well as provide new data to both classification and correlation of the Ordovician for this area and geographical distribution of nautiloid fauna.

The specimens described in the paper are part of the collection of nautiloid fossils from Zhakang east of the Taerma Bridge, Xainza County, Tibet. Three genera and six species are described, including one new genus Variabioceras gen. nov. and its three new species V. typicum gen. et sp. nov., V. zangbeiense gen. et sp. nov. and V. robustum gen. et sp. nov.

During the regional geological mapping of the 1∶250000 Mayigangri Sheet, a very complete ophiolite was discovered in the Jiaomuri area, which consists of radiolarian chert, pillow basalt, gabbro, diabase and metaperidotite. This ophiolite is the most intact and complete one in the central Qiangtang area.

The Late Permian strata, namely Raggyorcaka Formation, is distributed along the line from Shuanghu agency to Raggyorcaka area. The Formation comprises two parts divided by fault. The lower part is mainly composed of shale and carbonate containing fusulinids and brachiopods while the upper part is dominated by flora-bearing sandstone and mudstone. Acording to the new materials got from 1∶250 000 scale Mayigangrimap, the upper terrestrial flora-bearing deposits conformably overlie the lower marine fusulinids-bearing deposits. So, based on the analysis of paleon to logy and litho stratigraphy, the original Raggyorcaka Format ion are divided in to two parts. The lower is Raggyorcaka Formation standing for fusulinids-bearing marine deposits and the upper is Heitugou Formation (P3h), a new lithostratigraphic name represen ting flora-bearing deposits.

Latest investigation indicates that the Lopingian Series including both terrestrial and marine deposit s are developed in the Lhasa Block. The marine Lopinigian Series in the Lhasa Block contains the compound coral Waagenophyllum, fusulinid Reichelina, and foraminifer Colaniella faunas , and the terrestrial Lopingian Series is characterized by both Cathaysian floras and mixed floras consisting of Gondwanan element s such as Glossopteris , Noeggerathiopsis, Phyllotheca and Cathaysian elements such as Pecopteris ,Sphenopteris. An anlaysis of the Lopingian sequences in the Lhasa Block reveals that it experienced a regression stage f rom Guadalupian to Lopingian. By contrast , the Himalayan Tethys Zone south to the Lhasa Block is characterized by typical Gondwanan Glossopteris flora , coldwater brachiopod and solitary coral faunas. In addition, the Lopingian sequence in the Himalayan Tethys Zone reflect s a transgressive process from the terrestrial Qubu Formation to the shallow marine Qubuerga Formation. Therefore, the Lhasa Block shows significant differences in both biota and depositional features from the Himalayan Tethys Zone during the Lopingian, which implies that the Lhasa Block had rifted from the northern periGondwanan margin before the Lopingian.

This paper reports a diversified fusuline fauna from the Middle Permian (Guadalupian) Xilanta Formation in the Gyanyima area, Burang County, southwestern Tibet, China. Nine genera, Lantschichites, Kahlerina, Nankinella, Yangchienia, Chusenella, Verbeekina, Armenina, Paraverbeekina and Neoschwagerina are recognized.Anew species Yangchienia gyanyimaensis n. sp. is established. This fauna indicates a Midian age in terms of the coexistence of Kahlerina, Lantschichites and Neoschwagerina. Paleobiogeographically, the fauna closely resembles that from the Lasaila exotic limestone block of Tibet, both resemble the fusuline assemblages known from the western Cimmerian continents in the Western Tethys Province. However, the absence of Afghanella and Sumatrina in the fauna suggests that the Gyanyima limestone block as well as the Lasaila exotic limestone block, the Batain plain of Oman and the Salt Range of Pakistan, were affected by relatively cool water during the Middle Permian.

The system described in the part of the coral fossils collected from Xainza area, northern Lower Devonian Dahl East group. Wrinkles coral genera and 5 species (including a new species Hunanaxonia xizangensis sp nov.) And two undetermined species; bedplate coral-shaped coral 4 4 species, including two new species the (Pachycanalicula sparcula sp nov. Paraheliolites zakangensis sp nov.) these coral fossil discovery will help to further understanding of the Early Devonian corals fauna symbiotic combination, evolution, and coral paleobiogeographic flora.

In this paper, I explore how human-nonhuman relations among nomads of Eastern Tibet may be understood within the framework of a four-fold ontological system proposed by anthropologist, Philippe Descola. In what follows, I provide an account of Descola’s theoretical system, present ethnographic data on human-nonhuman relations from fieldwork with two nomadic communities in Eastern Tibet, and analyze these in light of Descola’s system. I argue that deep ethnographic engagement with and analysis of humannonhuman relations not only furthers our understanding of specific communities but also informs the politics around policies concerned with ‘the environment’.

On-going contestations to establish the hegemonic narrative of Tibet's history rest on the shared assumption that a true narrative, or history's motion, exists. This essay suggests that history's motion is a continuing legacy of Newton's concepts of absolute time and space, even while the current disputes over Tibet's history point to the limitations of these concepts in practice.
