Although the flexible delivery of training in the workplace has become a favoured policy position for training authorities in both Britain and Australia, this article reviews research that indicates neither learners nor their workplaces are well prepared. Drawing on the author's own research and that from the broader literature, the article develops a model for the preparation of learners and workplaces for flexible delivery of training. Deriving from the proposed model, the article suggests a wide range of strategies that may be used in preparing learners and workplaces for successful engagement with the flexible delivery of training.

The growing burden of chronic disease and the current nature of healthcare systems which are structurally ill-equipped to cater to the complex needs of patients with chronic conditions has led to governments and healthcare providers seeking alternative ways to improve patients own capacity to actively self-manage their chronic condition. In Australia, there has been a focus on patient education and self-management programs within the healthcare system to achieve this. These programs aim to empower patients through providing information and teaching skills and techniques to improve self-care and doctor-patient interaction with the ultimate goal of improving quality of life. Patient education and self-management programs have been supported through several national government initiatives and implemented within the healthcare setting. This paper describes the current position of patient education and self-management within the Australian healthcare system. It further describes a new collaboration project between an Australian and a German research team which aims at translating an assessment questionnaire used in Australia for the evaluation of self-management programs, the “Health Education Impact Questionnaire” (“heiQ”); this instrument is expected to be of significant use in the German rehabilitative system.

Method involves starting of calibration test for start condition and for calibration definite changes in the parameter are to be adjusted. At least two of the parameters, throttle valve position (2) or load, fuel-air relationship (4), firing angle (5), exhaust gas lead line (6), amount of fuel e.t.c. are to be changed in defined order. The parameters also includes injection pressure, guide blade position of a turbo compressor with variable blade position, valve lift and injecting modulation.

Operating method involves traversing of predetermined driving cycles of motor vehicle with definite switching points on chassis dynamo meter. An external control unit (6) is attached on motor control unit (2). By using the external control unit, the control of fresh air and/or fresh charge of air-fuel mixture attachment (3) as well as the control of drive (4), are influenced.

The method involves recording input variables such as accelerator position, as fuel consumption during a test, and forming a neural network with the recorded variables, where the network specifies an output variable such as fuel consumption, after a training phase. The output variable is simulated by the network trained at a real vehicle using a standardized target curve and/or a speed curve. The simulated output variable corresponds to the real vehicle such that the vehicle accurately follows the target curve.

Die Erfindung betrifft einen Verbrennungsmotor (1) mit zumindest einer Abgasleitung (2), in der ein Wärmetauscher (4) angeordnet ist, und mit einer dem Wärmetauscher (4) umführenden Bypaßleitung (13). Der Verbrennungsmotor (1) weist einen Motorölkreislauf (6) auf. Dem Wärmetauscher (4) ist zumindest stromaufwärts eines Abgasstromes ein Mehrwegeventil (12) vorgeschaltet. Der Wärmetauscher (4) ist in dem Motorölkreislauf (6) integriert, so daß das Motoröl in einer Warmlaufphase des Verbrennungsmotors (1) mittels der Abgaswärme aufgeheizt wird.
Combustion engine comprises an exhaust gas line (2) containing a heat exchanger (4) connected to a multiple way valve (12) upstream of an exhaust gas stream. The heat exchanger is integrated into an engine oil cycle (13) so that the oil is heated in a hot running phase of the engine using the exhaust gas heat. Preferred Features: The multiple way valve is formed as a three-way valve connected with two connections to the exhaust gas line and with one connection to a bypass. A siphon (14) is connected to the heat exchanger.

Multiple cylinder internal combustion engine (1) comprises a first lambda probe (11) and a first catalyst (12) arranged in a first exhaust gas pipe (8), a second lambda probe (13) and a second catalyst arranged in a second exhaust gas pipe (9), and a common controlled throttle valve (6) arranged in the inlet region (4) of the cylinders (A-D). Both exhaust gas pipes open into a complete exhaust gas pipe (10). - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for a process for partially switching off the multiple cylinder internal combustion engine. Preferred Features: A third catalyst is arranged in the complete exhaust gas pipe or in the second exhaust gas pipe behind the second lambda probe. The controlled throttle valve is an electronically controlled throttle valve.

Air for the internal combustion engine (1) passes through a turbocharger (2,3) compressor (4). The air line (7) downstream of the compressor divides with some air bypassing (9) the intercooler (6) and passing through a control valve (10). There is a sensor (14) downstream of the point where the bypass joins the main air line. - Air is bled off downstream of the sensor to a control module (11). This may return air to the control valve or pass it to the waste gate (13) for the turbine (5). Some of the exhaust gas (8) passes through the turbine and some of it bypasses it (12) through the waste gate.

The method involves having a cylinder liner surrounded by a cooling agent channel where exterior to it an isolation layer is assigned. The isolation layer is within the inner walls of the cooling agent channel so that its exteriors are brought in. The isolation layer is formed with the cooling agent channel as a one piece so that the isolation layer is connected positively with the inner wall of the cooling agent channel. The isolation layer is manufactured at the same time with the cooling agent. The cooling agent channel is directly cast.

The cylinder setting reporting process involves varying the ignition angle and/or the injection angle about a preset angle, so that the machine can be operated in at least two different operating points with different ignition and/or injection angles, using at least one signal to report the reference cylinder setting in at least two points to determine the ignition point and the injection point of this reference cylinder.
