Español como lengua extranjera : un estudio de métodos de enseñanza

This essay concerns methods of teaching, with the focus being mainly on methods of grammar, interaction, oral methods and the real context. The purpose of the study is to examine different methods used in the education of Spanish as a foreign language, as well as to show the effect of those methods. The investigation is based on the following questions: Which methods are used by teachers of Spanish as a foreign language? Which of these methods would be the most effective ones when it comes to learning? The methods of investigation used in the study are: search in related literature and interviews. The interviews are made with three teachers of Spanish as a foreign language in Sweden, and the analysis includes a comparison between the responses and the theories found in the literature. The result of the investigation shows that the effect of several of the methods depends on the students involved, their motivation and personalities. Another conclusion made is the fact that dialogues are regarded as effective and of good use in the teaching of a foreign language. Working in groups is moreover considered an excellent method according to the result of this study.

Aprendizaje de palabras : Métodos y estrategias

El objetivo de este estudio es comprender cómo los alumnos aprenden nuevas palabras en español y saber qué métodos y estrategias usan a la hora de aprender las nuevas palabras.El estudio se basa en la pregunta: ¿Cómo aprenden los alumnos del bachillerato las palabras nuevas cuando estudian el español?El estudio se apoya en la teoría del aprendizaje de nuevas palabras. Además se realizó una entrevista a cuatro alumnos y dos profesores. Los cuatro alumnos también rellenaron un cuestionario.Al analizar la respuesta a la entrevista a los profesores en cómo enseñan nuevas palabras en español, se llegó a la conclusión que los profesores enseñan las nuevas palabras usando el método tradicional, pero que a medida que los alumnos mejoran y llegan a un nivel más alto los profesores usan otros métodos que facilitan a los alumnos aprender las nuevas palabras.El resultado del estudio y de las entrevistas ha llevado a la conclusión de que la mayoría de los alumnos aprenden las nuevas palabras con el método tradicional.Palabras clave: aprendizaje, memoria, palabras, métodos y estrategias.

Y ahora toca gramática…… : Un estudio cualitativo sobre las actitudes hacia lagramática y los métodos didácticosde unos profesores del bachillerato sueco

Grammar is one of the most discussed part of language learning. Many studentshave problems understanding how to use the grammatical forms in their ownproduction and communication. The purpose of this work is to investigate theteachers´ attitudes towards grammar and what methods they use when they teachgrammar. The method used in this work is qualitative, with four interviews ofteachers working in the Swedish high school. In order to determine how the teacherswork, we have studied the course plans presented by Skolverket and we have alsostudied what the current research have to say about this. The result shows that theinterviewed teachers mostly vary their methods, using both inductive and deductiveapproaches in order to promote the communicative competence of the students. Theinterviews also show that the teachers have a positive attitude towards grammar,considering it an important part of language learning.
