Universal Experimental Measurement System «Sun-Walker» : Automotive measurement system for the evaluation of the solar irradiation distribution for the tests of the solar concentrated systems.

This Thesis project is a part of the research conducted in Solar industry. ABSOLICON Solar Concentrator AB has invented and started production of the prospective solar concentrated system Absolicon X10. The aims of this Thesis project are designing, assembling, calibrating and putting in operation the automatic measurement system intended to evaluate distribution of density of solar radiation in the focal line of the concentrated parabolic reflectors and to measure radiation from the artificial source of light being a calibration-testing tool.On the basis of the requirements of the company’s administration and needs of designing the concentrated reflectors the operation conditions for the Sun-Walker were formulated. As the first step, the complex design of the whole system was made and division on the parts was specified. After the preliminary conducted simulation of the functions and operation conditions of the all parts were formulated.As the next steps, the detailed design of all the parts was made. Most components were ordered from respective companies. Some of the mechanical components were made in the workshop of the company. All parts of the Sun-Walker were assembled and tested. The software part, which controls the Sun-Walker work and conducts measurements of solar irradiation, was created on the LabVIEW basis. To tune and test the software part, the special simulator was designed and assembled.When all parts were assembled in the complete system, the Sun-Walker was tested, calibrated and tuned.

IT-system och organisationsutveckling

This report describes work on the thesis “IT systems and organizational development”. The work is carried out on Stocksbro Energi AB, during spring 2009. The company wanted better flow in their production but also review if the inventory management function located in Visma SPCS Administration 2000, could be used in the organization. Under the first part of this report the system were tested to ensure if the system would work together with the organization. After testing the desired features they were evaluated along with two of the users to the system at the company. The wanted functions could not be obtained whenthe Admin 2000 is an economic system and are not made for the producing companies. Thereafter the theoretical possibility was examined of introducing a more advanced system to get the desired functionality to work together with the organization. To introduce a more advanced system will require major changes of the organization, before, during and after the introduction. It is therefore important how the management implements a possibility of a new system. It’s important to make the staff join in this implementation but also get as much as possible out of the system.To conclude the thesis a goal and problem analysis but also a solution proposal was made with the help of the FA/SIMM method. Also some suggestions are mentioned how the company could proceed in the implementation of the proposals for a solution.

Betydelsen av Humor som kommunikationsmedel i omvårdnad : Litteraturstudie

Syfte: Syftet med föreliggande litteraturstudie var att belysa betydelsen av humor som kommunikationsmedel mellan patient och sjuksköterska i omvårdnad, samt inom personalgrupp. Metod: Studien genomfördes som en litteraturstudie, där relevanta artiklar söktes i databaserna Cinahl, PubMed och PsychInfo. Även sökmotorn Elin@Dalarna samt tidskriften Vård i Norden användes. Femton vetenskapliga artiklar, både kvalitativa och kvantitativa granskades och analyserades. Resultat: Resultatet av analysen visade två övergripande teman som handlade om humor som en copingstrategi och humor som relationsskapande. Analysen visade även att humor som kommunikationsmedel är viktigt i relationen mellan patient och sjuksköterska, där humor bygger en grund till en djupare relation. Humor hjälper patienten att hantera sjukdomstillstånd och är ett steg till tillfrisknande. Patienten kan lättare uttrycka och hantera känslor. Patienten upplever med hjälp av humor en ökad livstillfredsställelse och en effektivare stresshantering. Sjuksköterskan kan lättare hantera känslor och ta en paus från jobbiga situationer med hjälp av humor. Humor ger energi och stärker personalgruppen. Personalgruppen känner en samhörighet och kan lättare hantera situationer tillsammans genom att använda humor.

Måste vi byta livsstil?

Ett tungt ansvar för klimatförändringarna läggs ofta på de boende. Människor borde "byta livsstil", sägs det. Men förändring sker sällan så abrupt, menar Annette Henning. Istället borde yrkesgrupper som sysslar med bostäder, värmesystem eller inomhusklimat medvetet stödja de vanor som kan leda oss i en energisnål riktning.

Kvinnors möjlighet att välja värmesystem begränsas

Många nya småhus byggs idag utan pannrum. Det begränsar framförallt kvinnors trygghet och handlingsutrymme. Dessutom hindras hushållen från att minska sin förbrukning av energiresurser. Men vems är felet?

Användarnas utvärdering

Det vanliga är att värmesystems tekniska förmåga utvärderas i en verkstad eller ett laboratorium. I ett just avslutat forskningsprojekt har några forskare på Centrum för solenergiforskning (SERC), på uppdrag av Energimyndigheten, istället låtit ett antal användare berätta sin egen historia om hur det gick till när de bestämde sig för ett nytt värmesystem och hur de upplevde tiden runt och närmast efter installationen. Ett sätt för fjärrvärmebranschen att skapa framförhållning och samtidigt tillmötesgå småhusägarnas önskemål om flexibilitet är att erbjuda dem olika möjligheter att docka fjärrvärmen mot mindre uppvärmningssystem. Detta borde dessutom kunna ge betydande klimat- och energiresursvinster. Framförhållning och stärkt konkurrenskraft gentemot värmepumpsbranschen innebär också att många av de småhus som fortfarande värms med olja skulle välja att övergå till biobränslebaserad fjärrvärme istället för elvärme, som nu ofta är fallet.

Heat losses and thermal performance of commercial combined solar and pellet heating systems

Various pellet heating systems are marketed in Sweden, some of them in combination with a solar heating system. Several types of pellet heating units are available and can be used for a combined system. This article compares four typical combined solar and pellet heating systems: System 1 and 2 two with a pellet stove, system 3 with a store integrated pellet burner and system 4 with a pellet boiler. The lower efficiency of pellet heaters compared to oil or gas heaters increases the primary energy demand. Consequently heat losses of the various systems have been studied. The systems have been modeled in TRNSYS and simulated with parameters identified from measurements. For almost all systems the flue gas losses are the main heat losses except for system 3 where store heat losses prevail. Relevant are also the heat losses of the burner and the boiler to the ambient. Significant leakage losses are noticed for system 3 and 4. For buildings with an open internal design system 1 is the most efficient solution. Other buildings should preferably apply system 3. The right choice of the system depends also on whether the heater is placed inside or outside of the heated are. A large potential for system optimization exist for all studied systems, which when applied could alter the relative merits of the different system types.

Creating Prestige and Global Networks through Conference Rituals

An international conference is a secular ritual which serves to create, recreate and shape global-wide translocal cultural sharings. Social anthropological theories and methods are used to show that, besides being an information flow junction, the international conference is a network crossroad and a way of socialising new members into aninternational research community. It is also capable of creating prestige and honour for the individual researcher,for the arranging research team, university and city. Rituals do not merely reflect the social relations or cosmology of a society, but are events that in themselves do important things through ritual forms and symbolic statements.
