Matlab is a high level language that is very easy to use and very powerful. It comes with a wealth of libraries and toolboxes, that you can use directly, so that you don't need to program low level functions. It enables you to display results very easily on graphs and images. To get started with it, you need to understand how to manipulate and represent data, and how to find information about the available functions. During this self-study tutorial, you will learn: 1- How to start Matlab. 2- How you can find out all the information you need. 3- How to create simple vectors and matrices. 4- What functions are available and how to find them. 5- How to plot graphs of functions. 6- How to write a script. University of Southampton thesis template for MS Word 2010/2013 (PC) and 2011 (Mac)

This template is for use with both Word 2010/2013/2016 for PC and Word 2011/2016 for Apple Mac. It provides a structure and format that meets with the University's quality requirements for a thesis such as mirror margins to allow for double-sided printing. It is not compulsory to use the template when writing a thesis, however it's use, in conjunction with the supporting material referenced at the start of the template, will make your thesis well presented and should save you a lot of time and effort. If you have Word 2003 there is a separate template for this version of Word available. Since this is not a University supported version of Office there are no supporting videos.

The University provides a template for the whole of a thesis but if you wish to construct a thesis by using separate files you can use this file for the introductory section. This file contains all of the sections required (Title Page, Abstract, Table of Contents etc). It also has mirror margins for double sided printing and has different odd and even page headers. Support materials for using the template are referenced near the start of the file. Attaching numbering to headings in Word 2010

In a long document such as a thesis you'll often want to attach a numbering system to your headings. This will get Word to automatically apply numbering as you add and removing headings from the document. You'll also be able to use them for cross-referencing purposes.
