Sustainable urban criteria in the urban periphery of Guadalajara

The study of the growth of large cities, in the urban periphery or the peri-urban areas specifically, it relates to environmental degradation due to urbanization, if it is estimated that since 2008 more than half of the world population living in urban areas, this sector is affected as it presents overcrowding, segregation and deterioration of physical conditions, which will impact on the social aspects within localities. This great urban growth has usually developed with the lack of environmental planning.So it is necessary to include urban development, guidelines towards environmental conservation and rehabilitation of the territory. The future of cities will depend largely on the actions taken now. As urban development inevitably requires planning urban settlements through sustainable development so as to provide alternative technologies, based on the reality of Latin American countries.In the peripheral area of the Metropolitan Zone of Guadalajara, is taken as a case study of the town of La Venta del Astillero, which by its nature allows access and functionality to develop a set of criteria and indicators to urban sustainability, which can take as a model for other communities in the urban periphery.

Appreciation of humor sense in college students

Appreciation of humor includes several cognitive and social processes. None can say that two communities will laugh at the same jokes and find funny the same humorous content. This study worked differences in humor appreciation of university students and comparisons were made between sex and age of participants. To assess the appreciation of humor was built an instrument with 15 written jokes. This instrument was presented to a total sample of 81 students, divided into 3 groups of different age. Participants had to evaluate two aspects: the playfulness and the difficulty of each stimulus or humorous vignette. The jokes that showed significant differences in jocularity have a particular structure marked for a disqualifying content to men, indicating, as noted the literature, that men have more fun with sexual humor and prefers this kind of jokes as well as content related to aggressive or hostile, while women have more fun with humorous vignettes when the man is the victim and reject more when the victim is a woman. In terms of age and the appreciation of humor, there are differences in the type of situations and social contexts valued in the jokes, involving relationship between situational and social aspects of humor.

Aspectos Neurodesenvolvimentais e Relacionais do bebê com Síndrome de Down

Dentre as inúmeras patologias que afetam a infância, a Síndrome de Down (SD) destaca-se por provocar alterações globais no processo de desenvolvimento. Nos últimos anos, principalmente devido à sua alta incidência, diversas pesquisas têm sido empreendidas com o intuito de melhor compreender esta síndrome, o que tem trazido importantes contribuições ao conhecimento na área. Entretanto, verificam-se, ainda, lacunas no tocante à compreensão das mudanças e transformações que caracterizam o desenvolvimento dessas crianças, especialmente no que concerne aos estágios mais precoces do seu desenvolvimento. Com o objetivo de contribuir com este campo de pesquisa, o presente artigo objetivou apresentar resumidamente os principais aspectos acerca do neurodesenvolvimento e desenvolvimento relacional dos bebês com SD. Espera-se, com isto, contribuir com a literatura na área ao destacar ambos os aspectos no início da vida do bebê e facilitar, assim, o resgate por estudantes e pesquisadores dos estudos sobre a SD.
