Ka-Map: an interactive web-mapping application

ka-Map ("ka" as in ka-boom!) is an open source project that is aimed at providing a javascript API for developing highly interactive web-mapping interfaces using features available in modern web browsers. ka-Map currently has a number of interesting features. It sports the usual array of user interface elements such as: interactive, continuous panning without reloading the page; keyboard navigation options (zooming, panning); zooming to pre-set scales; interactive scalebar, legend and keymap support; optional layer control on client side; server side tile caching

Edición cartográfica Web WFS/T (Cartomod)

Dada la necesidad de la Agencia Andaluza de la Energía de mantener el callejero del Inventario de Instalaciones Energéticas Municipales (INVIEM) se plantea la necesidad de utilizar un visor web de edición cartográfica con capacidad de edición para poder realizar las actuaciones oportunas sobre la información espacial, para ello se decide la utilización del estándar WFS/T (Web Feature Service Transactional) y la utilización de software libre en todos los niveles del sistema a implementar. Este desarrollo será el comienzo de una migración completa de todo el sistema actual a una plataforma integrada por completo con productos de software libre

wxGRASS: una interfaz gráfica de usuario para la integración de diversos programas libres para SIG

This paper presents a Graphical User Interface, developed with python and the graphic library wxpython, to GRASS GIS. This GUI allows to access several modules with a graphic interface written in Spanish. Its main purpouse is to be a teaching tool, that is the reason way it only allows to access several basic put crucial moludes. It also allows user to organize the elements presented to stress the aspects to be resalted in a particular working sesion with the program

Creando valor a través de las TIC: nuevos intermediarios

Este trabajo analiza cómo se puede crear valor a través del uso de las TIC. Para ello se utiliza el Modelo de creación de valor en e-business desarrollado por Amit y Zott (2001) y se aplica a una tipología de nuevos intermediarios que opera en el sector de los contenidos digitales: gregadores de noticias. Para lograr este objetivo, se ha realizado un estudio exploratorio y un estudio de casos a través de entrevistas personales con informadores estratégicos y un análisis del contenido de las páginas web de 56 empresas relacionadas con el sector y cuestionarios, principalmente Se han analizado empresas de EEUU, Canadá, España, Francia, Alemania, Reino Unido y Suiza

Integration of knowledge-based, qualitative and numeric tools for real time dynamic systems supervision

The proposal presented in this thesis is to provide designers of knowledge based supervisory systems of dynamic systems with a framework to facilitate their tasks avoiding interface problems among tools, data flow and management. The approach is thought to be useful to both control and process engineers in assisting their tasks. The use of AI technologies to diagnose and perform control loops and, of course, assist process supervisory tasks such as fault detection and diagnose, are in the scope of this work. Special effort has been put in integration of tools for assisting expert supervisory systems design. With this aim the experience of Computer Aided Control Systems Design (CACSD) frameworks have been analysed and used to design a Computer Aided Supervisory Systems (CASSD) framework. Adaptive intelligent agent approach to guide the web navigation on the PLAN-G distance learning platform

Hypermedia systems based on the Web for open distance education are becoming increasingly popular as tools for user-driven access learning information. Adaptive hypermedia is a new direction in research within the area of user-adaptive systems, to increase its functionality by making it personalized [Eklu 961. This paper sketches a general agents architecture to include navigational adaptability and user-friendly processes which would guide and accompany the student during hislher learning on the PLAN-G hypermedia system (New Generation Telematics Platform to Support Open and Distance Learning), with the aid of computer networks and specifically WWW technology [Marz 98-1] [Marz 98-2]. The PLAN-G actual prototype is successfully used with some informatics courses (the current version has no agents yet). The propased multi-agent system, contains two different types of adaptive autonomous software agents: Personal Digital Agents {Interface), to interacl directly with the student when necessary; and Information Agents (Intermediaries), to filtrate and discover information to learn and to adapt navigation space to a specific student
