La Comunidad geospacial y el acceso a datos oceanográficos

Nowadays, Oceanographic and Geospatial communities are closely related worlds. The problem is that they follow parallel paths in data storage, distributions, modelling and data analyzing. This situation produces different data model implementations for the same features. While Geospatial information systems have 2 or 3 dimensions, the Oceanographic models uses multidimensional parameters like temperature, salinity, streams, ocean colour... This implies significant differences between data models of both communities, and leads to difficulties in dataset analysis for both sciences. These troubles affect directly to the Mediterranean Institute for Advanced Studies ( IMEDEA (CSIC-UIB)). Researchers from this Institute perform intensive processing with data from oceanographic facilities like CTDs, moorings, gliders… and geospatial data collected related to the integrated management of coastal zones. In this paper, we present an approach solution based on THREDDS (Thematic Real-time Environmental Distributed Data Services). THREDDS allows data access through the standard geospatial data protocol Web Coverage Service, inside the European project (European Coastal Sea Operational Observing and Forecasting system). The goal of ECOOP is to consolidate, integrate and further develop existing European coastal and regional seas operational observing and forecasting systems into an integrated pan- European system targeted at detecting environmental and climate changes

El Burnout percibido o sensación de estar quemado en profesionales sanitarios: prevalencia y factores asociados

Depending on the various models explaining the burnout syndrome, different questionnaires have been developed to asses this topic, the most widely-used is the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI). Moreover, in trying to asses this syndrome in a faster and more practical way, several authors have developed other instruments with fewer items. The present investigation aims: 1. Study the prevalence of burnout syndrome perceived using a simple measure of self-reported burnout, and to analyse its association with the scales of MBI. 2. Study demographic and work conditions associated with the perceived burnout. 3. Relate the burnout to personal and work evaluations. The sample consist of 6150 health professionals in Latin America (mainly from Argentina but with representation from Mexico, Ecuador, Peru, Colombia, Uruguay, Guatemala and Spain, among others. The mean age of the sample was 42.4 years, 52.7% were males. They were supplied with an online questionnaire through the health web page ”Intramed” in order to measure characteristics, perceptions and professional opinions. The MBI and a simple question to assess perceptions of burnout (Do you feel burnt out ?) was also included. The results indicated that 36.3% of the sample has the perception of “burnt out” or burnout . The perceived burnout is closely related to emotional exhaustion and is independent of depersonalisation. The burnout is associated with the perceived sense of personal and family deterioration due to working conditions, and the idea of abandoning the profession

Perfiles y regímenes de dedicación de los estudiantes universitarios

El objetivo principal del proyecto que aquí se resume es efectuar una exploración de las modalidades de vinculación al estudio-aprendizaje de los actuales estudiantes universitarios con el fin de conocer mejor sus perfiles. Se pretende obtener información relevante para que las universidades puedan diseñar estrategias e instrumentos de planificación de la docenciaenseñanza, que favorezcan una respuesta más adecuada a dichos perfiles. Se trata, por tanto, de conocer a los estudiantes tal y como son, y no cómo nos gustaría que fueran, aprehender en qué consiste el “oficio de estudiante”, según la expresión de Alain Coulon. Esta analogía procedente del mundo laboral, que trata de mostrar cómo las tareas y la condición de estudiante, dada su duración y sus características, puede ser interpretada como una profesión, introduce de manera muy acertada el complejo objeto de nuestro estudio. El punto de partida de esta investigación son dos fenómenos detectados en estudios previos: la flexibilización del compromiso de los estudiantes con su proceso de formación y el cambio que se produce en la relación entre la educación y la vida de las personas: se naturaliza el acceso y se desdramatiza el fracaso
