X-ray transition energies for two-muonic atoms are calculated. The basis are relativistic self-consistent-field calculations including the corrections normally known in muonic atoms plus the vacuum polarization, magnetic interaction and retardation in the \mu-\mu-interaction, the specific mass correction and the configuration interaction.

Listed here for the elements Z = 100, fermium, to Z = 173 are energy eigenvalues and total energies found from relativistic Dirac-Fock-Slater calculations. The effect of high ionization on the energy eigenvalues is presented for two exarnples. The use of these tables in connection with the energy levels of superheavy elements and molecular orbital (MO) x-ray transitions in superheavy quasiatoms, is discussed. In addition, abrief comparison between the results of the Dirac-Fock-Slater and Dirac-Fock calculations is given.

A fully numerical two-dimensional solution of the Schrödinger equation is presented for the linear polyatomic molecule H^2+_3 using the finite element method (FEM). The Coulomb singularities at the nuclei are rectified by using both a condensed element distribution around the singularities and special elements. The accuracy of the results for the 1\sigma and 2\sigma orbitals is of the order of 10^-7 au.
Accurate Hartree-Fock-Slater calculations on small diatomic molecules with the finite-element method
Resumo:
We report on the self-consistent field solution of the Hartree-Fock-Slater equations using the finite-element method for the three small diatomic molecules N_2, BH and CO as examples. The quality of the results is not only better by two orders of magnitude than the fully numerical finite difference method of Laaksonen et al. but the method also requires a smaller number of grid points.

Using Doppler-free two-photon absorption spectroscopy, we have measured hyperfine splitting constants as well as isotopic level shifts of the 6s^2 np ^2 P_l/2,3/2 states in (n=7-10) in ^203 TI and ^205 TI. Calculations for hyperfine constants and electron density at the nucleus have been performed by the Dirac-Fock method. The experimental results are compared with these calculations as well as with the predictions of the semiempirical theory.
