The present work is to understand the alterations of total muscarinic. muscarinic MI and glutamate receptors in the brain regions of pilocarpine induced epileptic rats. The work focuses on the evaluation of the anti epileptic activity of extracts of Bacopa monnieri, Bacoside A and Carbamazepine in vivo. The molecular changes in the muscarinic M I receptors in the pre- and post-treated epileptic model with Bacopa monnieri, Bacoside A and Carbamazepine were also studied. These studies will help us to elucidate the functional role of muscarinic and glutamate receptors in epilepsy.

The research work which was carried out to characterization of wastes from natural rubber and rubber wood processing industries and their utilization for biomethanation. Environmental contamination is an inevitable consequence of human activity. The liquid and solid wastes from natural rubber based industries were: characterized and their use for the production of biogas investigated with a view to conserve conventional energy, and to mitigate environmental degradation.Rubber tree (flevea brasiliensis Muell. Arg.), is the most important commercial source of natural rubber and in india. Recently, pollution from the rubber processing factories has become very serious due to the introduction of modern methods and centralized group processing practices. The possibility of the use of spent slurry as organic manure is discussed.l0 percent level of PSD, the activity of cellulolytic, acid producing, proteolytic, lipolytic and methanogenic bacteria were more in the middle stage of methanogenesis.the liquid wastes from rubber processing used as diluents in combination with PSD, SPE promoted more biogas production with high methane content in the gas.The factors that favour methane production like TS, VS, cellulose and hemicellulose degradation were favoured in this treatment which led to higher methane biogenesis. The results further highlight ways and means to use agricultural wastes as alternative sources of energy.

In this thesis an attempt to develop the properties of basic concepts in fuzzy graphs such as fuzzy bridges, fuzzy cutnodes, fuzzy trees and blocks in fuzzy graphs have been made. The notion of complement of a fuzzy graph is modified and some of its properties are studied. Since the notion of complement has just been initiated, several properties of G and G available for crisp graphs can be studied for fuzzy graphs also. Mainly focused on fuzzy trees defined by Rosenfeld in [10] , several other types of fuzzy trees are defined depending on the acyclicity level of a fuzzy graph. It is observed that there are selfcentered fuzzy trees. Some operations on fuzzy graphs and prove that complement of the union two fuzzy graphs is the join of their complements and complement of the join of two fuzzy graphs is union of their complements. The study of fuzzy graphs made in this thesis is far from being complete. The wide ranging applications of graph theory and the interdisciplinary nature of fuzzy set theory, if properly blended together could pave a way for a substantial growth of fuzzy graph theory.

Antimedian graphs are introduced as the graphs in which for every triple of vertices there exists a unique vertex x that maximizes the sum of the distances from x to the vertices of the triple. The Cartesian product of graphs is antimedian if and only if its factors are antimedian. It is proved that multiplying a non-antimedian vertex in an antimedian graph yields a larger antimedian graph. Thin even belts are introduced and proved to be antimedian. A characterization of antimedian trees is given that leads to a linear recognition algorithm.

Centrality is in fact one of the fundamental notions in graph theory which has established its close connection with various other areas like Social networks, Flow networks, Facility location problems etc. Even though a plethora of centrality measures have been introduced from time to time, according to the changing demands, the term is not well defined and we can only give some common qualities that a centrality measure is expected to have. Nodes with high centrality scores are often more likely to be very powerful, indispensable, influential, easy propagators of information, significant in maintaining the cohesion of the group and are easily susceptible to anything that disseminate in the network.
