Honsberger, Mary Backus, Hilda Wilson. The teacher may be Beatrice Armstrong. Fairview School was built in 1919 in Louth Township, Lincoln County, Ont. It may have been built around the time the county constructed other schools, namely, Grapeview and Glenridge. Nicholson and Macbeth may have been the architects of this school, as some features on the building, ie. the carved stone children’s faces below the lintel of the front door , appear in another known and proven Nicholson and Macbeth building, the former YMCA on Queen Street in St. Catharines. The school remained in operation until 1979 when it was purchased for a church, the Fairview-Louth Community church, which later became Southridge Community church, now located on Glenridge Avenue, St. Catharines, Ont. Today the building is occupied by the Niagara Korean Presbyterian Church.

E.O. Graham, nurseryman, planting guide leaflets collection, ca. 1900.

Edward Oliver Graham of Rochester, N.Y. worked as a nurseryman in that city for 27 years. He owned a nursery business that operated under his own name for many years. The central office was located in Rochester, but there was also a branch located in Toronto, Ont. In 1903 he formed a company known as the Graham Nursery Company. He died in September 1909.

This is in regard to parts of Lots no. 113, 114 and 115 in the Township of Niagara. This was registered on Nov. 10, 1885 – instrument no. 2075, Oct. 31, 1885.

Letter to H.H. Collier of the Houston, Texas Telegraph Office from Jim Long of Austin, Texas. Mr. Long writes about the horrible shooting of Mr. James Smith by his overseer, Mr. R. Baker. This letter is torn and taped. A small portion of the bottom of the letter is torn away. This slightly affects the text (2 pages, handwritten), Jan. 25, 1845.

Certificate awarded to Lieutenant Colonel, the Honourable James George Currie of the 19th Lincoln Battalion of Canada from the ladies of the County of Lincoln

Certificate measuring 36 cm. x 47 cm. awarded to Lieutenant Colonel, the Honourable James George Currie of the 19th Lincoln Battalion of Canada from the ladies of the County of Lincoln to honour surviving veterans of the War of 1812. The calligraphy on the award was done by J. Matthews of St. Catharines who was listed in the 1877 St. Catharines Directory as an illuminator (medieval writing) and accountant. The award is signed by Elizabeth Carlisle on behalf of the ladies, Oct. 13, 1876.

Athletes with their Trophies

Dave Burt, Ken Murray, Anna Lathrop, Jim Nelligan standing with their newly presented trophies on March 23 1978. Dave Burt was co-recipient of the Patricia Lowenberger Memorial Trophy for outstanding male athletic achievement and of the Ed Davis MVP award. His number, along with Ken Murray's, was retired that night. Anna Lathrop received the O'Keefe Trophy for outstanding female athletic achievement and Jim Nelligan was the other co-recipient of the Patricia Lowenberger Memorial Trophy. Anna Lathrop is now (2008) acting Dean of the Faculty of Applied Health Sciences and Ken Murray is the Head Coach of Basketball.
