Beamsville Baptist Church papers, n.d.

The material outlines the history of the early Baptist church in Beamsville, from its inception in 1807 until approximately 1859. This may have been the basis of a manuscript on the history of the church.

The 19th Century Tombstone Database Project Records, 1790-1890 (non-inclusive)

The 19th Century Tombstone Database project was funded by the program Federal Summer Youth Employment scheme in the summer of 1982 and led by Dr. David W. Rupp, a Professor at the Classics Department, Brock University. The main goal of the project was to collect information related to various cemeteries in Niagara region and burials that took place from 1790-1890. Data was collected and presented in the form of data summary forms of persons, tombstone sketches, photographs of tombstones, maps, and computer printouts. The materials created as a result of a research completed for the 19th Century Tombstone Database project are important as a number of the tombstones have been damaged or gone missing since the research was finished. Before Dr. Rupp retired from Brock University, he donated project materials to the Brock University Special Collections and Archives.

Letter - E.C. Schmon to Arthur A. Schmon, 29 & 30 January 1918

In this letter Eleanore Celeste talks about attending Church, magazines and her interest in education. She states "the more I learn, the thirstier I am for knowledge." The second letter mentions the Philips estate turning into a seniors facility for women after much talk about it possibly turning into a hospital for wounded officers. This letter is labelled number 50.

E.C. Reynolds discusses furthering her French lessons with her friend Mrs. MacCracken. She also mentions the upcoming concert for the Presbyterian Church, where she will be playing the ukulele.

The letter describes a day Eleanor Celeste spent with her friends taking photographs in different locations. She spend another morning making surgical dressings and attending church. This letter is labelled number 77.

Letter - E.C. Schmon to Arthur A. Schmon, 19 January 1920

Eleanore Celeste mentions that she went to church and then began to read the book "The Woman named Smith. She finished the book and spent the night awake worrying about Arthur since she has not received a night letter in a week. The next day she receives a telegram from Arthur and she is at "peace". The second part of the letter mentions her mother is attending her final examination before an operation. This letter is labelled number 103.

The first letter mentions Eleanore Celeste has a headache and has been working on "comfort kits". The second letter describes her morning at church, studying and she mentions she expects to do Red Cross work. The letter is labelled number 60.

Eleanore Celeste has returned from an evening church service and is now packing up her family home. Her family is moving from the city to a "suburban town".

Inside the front cover H.K. Woodruff has signed the book and there is a label with the name , Mrs. Percy C. Band of Toronto, Ontario. The book contains some images and also has a list of matrimonial records from the St. Marks Church Register.
