Letter - E.C. Schmon to Arthur A. Schmon, 8 June 1919

She begins the letter with a recount of her weekend away in the country. She mentions a few friends and her outings over the weekend. Enclosed is clipping titled "'Snap it up': Soldiers' Comedy: Coming to Broad". This letter is labelled number 291.

Letter - E.C. Schmon to Arthur A. Schmon, 14 February 1920

This letter is decorated for Valentine's Day. There is a red cut out hard included that reads "To my Valentine from your Valentine xxxxxx". The second part of the letter talks about how to get to Shelter Bay and Eleanore Celeste remarks "So you do not think it advisable for me to make the trip to Shelter Bay by dog team! Let me tell you dearest, that I wouldn't mind if I had to walk there." These letters are labelled number 126 and 127.

She mentions a visit to Arthur Schmon's parents. She then goes on to describe the rest of her outings for the day. This letter is labelled number 60.

The letter begins with mention of Easter. Eleanore Celeste then mentions the card party that she became an engagement party when Madelyn Fitze announced her engagement to Harry Beckingham. This letter is labelled number 263.

Eleanore Celeste mentions that Arthur is to return in July. She discusses the way the troops are returning to New York and New Jersey and the discharge process. These letters are labelled number 279 and 280.

Letter - E.C. Schmon to Arthur A. Schmon, 30 November 1919

The letter beings with Eleanore Celeste describing her cold and staying in bed most of the day. They had visitors in the evening, Mrs. Rothe and Helen and earlier Hilda and Dick. Arthur and Eleanore Celeste are married, according to this letter. This letter is labelled number 61.

The letter mentions how much Eleanore Celeste would like to be cozy in her home and how she does not approve of large mansions for her family. The letter then mentions that the military will be looking for volunteers to go to Russia. She then describes the dinner party she attended by "Uncle Dick". This letter is labelled number 219.

This letter is severely damaged and very difficult to read. She mentions shopping in New York city with her sister.

The letter mentions an event that Arthur has been invited to, so Eleanore Celeste has been asked to accompany him. There is no mention of a date for the event or the letter.

Letter - E.C. Schmon to Arthur A. Schmon, Friday P.M.

This letter is not dated. Eleanore Celeste mentions that she will be responsible for planning an Xmas event for the people in hospital. This seems to be early in their relationship.

Letter - E.C. Schmon to Arthur A. Schmon, Thursday P.M.

The letter talks about volunteer work that was done around Xmas. Eleanore Celeste also mentions a new wing is to be added to the hospital and it is to be a children's ward. There is no date on this letter.

Letter - E.C. Schmon to Arthur A. Schmon, 29 December 1917

Eleanore Celeste describes her previous day: Studies, shopping for Mother, bridge party, out with girls and Uncle Dick. They attended the play "pearls" starring Robert Edison. The rest of the letter is written on New Year's Eve at twelve o'clock. She recounts last New Year's Eve.

Eleanore Celeste writes that she is waiting for her "big sister to dismiss two bad boys, then we are going down town shopping". This letter is incomplete and undated.

Letter - E.C. Schmon to Arthur A. Schmon, Tuesday A.M.

The letter mentions that Arthur was supposed to arrive, but did not. The letter mentions evangelist Billy Sunday. She also mentions the authors she has been reading: Hood, Emerson, Wordsworth and Byron. Eleanore Celeste plans to begin reading "Parsifal of Wagner". This letter is undated.

Letter - E.C. Schmon to Arthur A. Schmon, Monday Afternoon

The letter reads:" Dearest, How do you like this little surprise party? It is the latest way of sewing for the Red Cross - You remember I told you I was to meet Maud at two o'clock this afternoon, and we were going down to make surgical dressings? Well, thru a little misunderstanding about our meeting place, we missed each other; so I returned home. Mother thought I looked tired and insisted upon my taking a nap. I cam up to my room, and for an hour I've been trying to sleep, but "thought"(???) has prevented it. Artie dear, I have such an awful attack of the blues and while I was lying there trying to fight it, and also wishing that I knew your address - for I felt so much like writing to you, the thought came to me, that I could send a letter to you thru Chaunce, if I knew his company number. Hence - ensued a little chat with Mrs. Leake on the phone, and receiving the desired information, rushed to my desk, and - thus endeth the little tale. You are just about reaching Washington now, and I bet you are tired after that dreadfully monotonous trip. Take good care of yourself my "___"(?) Good luck, and lots of other wishes. Lovingly "Me".
