The finer grained domain mainly contains small sized grains that are very well dispersed. Clast shape ranges from angular to sub-rounded. Edge-to-edge grain crushing is common in the coarser domain, with a few grain stacks. The finer grained domain contains a few lineations.

Brown sediment with multiple domains. Grains range from small to large in size, and angular to sub-rounded in shape. Large amounts of grain crushing can be seen in the coarser domains. The sample is mainly dominated with grain crushing. The finer grained domains contain some clay rich material. Some lineations and rotation structures can also be seen throughout the different domains.

Coarse brown sediment, with clasts ranging from small to large in size. Clast shape ranges from sub-angular to rounded. Lineations and grain crushing are common throughout the sample. It also contains comet structures and a few rotation structures. Many of the larger clasts are also fractured.

Brown sediment with grains ranging from small to medium in size. The sample mainly contains smaller clasts. Clast shape ranges from sub-angular to sub-rounded. Water escape structures and lineations can be seen in this sample. Grains stacking and comet structures are also present in minor amounts.

Dark brown sediment with clasts ranging from small to large in size. The clast shape ranges from angular to sub-rounded. Many of the larger clasts are fractured. Grain crushing is abundant throughout the sample. A few lineations can also be seen throughout the sample.

Coarse sediment with grains ranging from small to large . Clast shape ranges from sub-angular to sub-rounded. Grain crushing is common throughout the sample, with many grains being crushed into one another. A few lineations and rotation structures can also be seen throughout.

Coarse grained sample with grains ranging from small to large in size. Clast shape ranges from sub-angular to well rounded. Edge-to-edge grain crushing is abundant throughout this sample. Minor amounts of rotation structures and lineations can also be seen.

Dark brown sediment with organic matter. There are two main domains; a coarse grained domain, and a finer grained domain. The coarse grained domain contains grains ranging from small to medium in size, and angular to sub-rounded in shape. In the coarse grained domain, grain crushing/stacking is common, with a few lineations and rotation structures. In the finer grained domain, grains are small and range from sub-angular to sub-rounded in shape. Lineations are abundant in this domain.

Light brown sediment with mainly small clasts. The clast shape ranges from sub-angular to sub-rounded. Lineations are abundant throughout the sample. Edge-to-edge grain crushing, as well as crushed grains, can also be seen.

HOEK UNIT C (Z) B3

Light brown sediment with clasts ranging from small to medium in size. The clast shape ranges from sub-angular to rounded. Lineations and edge-to-edge grain crushing can mainly be seen in this sample. There are also a few examples of grain stacking and crushed grains.

PB 3 (Y) KZ

Dark brown sediment, almost black due to organic material. Mainly structure-less with a few well dispersed clasts. Grains range from small to medium in size and sub-angular to rounded in shape.

Brown sediment with clasts ranging from small to medium in size. Clast shape ranges from sub-angular to rounded. Two mains domains can be observed; one mainly contains small clasts, and the other is a mix of small and medium sized clasts. The finer grained domain contains some organic material and is abundant in lineations. The coarser domain is also abundant in lineations but also contains crushed grains and comet structures.

Brown sample with two domains. One domain contains many small grains that are clustered together. The other domain is a darker brown and contains clasts that are well dispersed. The clasts range from small to large, and are angular to sub-rounded in shape. Lineations are commonly seen throughout both domains. A few rotation structures can also be seen in the well dispersed domain. Some grain crushing/ stacking can also be seen throughout the sample.
