Brown sediment with small clasts, and an occasional medium sized clast. Clasts appear to be sub-rounded in shape. The sample contains many lineations, the majority oriented in the same direction. There are also darker areas present in the sample, they may contain organics.

Coarse grained sample with clasts that range from small to large in size. The clast shape ranges from angular to rounded, and many grains are fractured. Grain crushing is present in large amounts. This includes edge-to-edge crushing as well as grains that are crushed into one another. Rotation structures are also common among the clasts that are sub-rounded to rounded. Areas of finer sediment can also be seen.

Coarse grained sample, with small clasts. Clasts range from sub-angular to sub-rounded in shape. Lineations are abundant throughout the sample. Grain stacking and crushing can also be seen in minor amounts.

HG 290.45-290.55 Thin Section

Two main domains can be seen in this sample. One is coarse grained with clasts ranging from small to medium in size. The other is very fine grained, and a very dark brown, potentially influenced by organic material. Grain crushing and lineations can be seen in the coarser domain.

Coarse grained sample with inclusions of finer grained sediment. Clasts are small to large in size and angular to sub-rounded in shape. Grain crushing is abundant in this sample, and lineations and minor grain stacks can also be seen.

This sample contains two different domains; a coarse grained domain with well dispersed clasts, and a fine grained domain that potentially contains organics. The coarser grained domain contains comet structures, lineations and minor rotation without a central grain.

Water escape structures can be seen, mainly in finer, clay rich sediment. Lineations can also be seen throughout the sample. Minor grain stacking and crushing are also present.

Grey sediment with clasts ranging from small to medium in size. Edge-to-edge grain crushing is abundant, with some lineations. Minor amounts of rotation structures can also be seen.

Dark brown sediment with small to large sized clasts. The clasts are sub-angular to sub-rounded in shape. Lineations are the most abundant. Minor amounts of rotation structures and comet structures can also be seen. Grain crushing is also present throughout the sample.

Dark brown sediment with clasts ranging from small to large. Grains are sub-angular in shape. Faint water escape structures are present.

Dark brown sediment with clasts ranging from small to large. Clasts are sub-angular to sub-rounded in shape. Larger tend to be more sub-rounded in this sample. Lineations and comet structures are present. Minor amounts of rotation structures can also be seen.

Dark greyish-brown sediment with clasts ranging from small to large in size. Clasts are sub-angular to sub-rounded in shape. Fine grained domains can be seen scattered throughout the sample. The sample also contains comet structures, lineations, and minor amounts of rotation structures within the coarser domain.
