Letter - E.C. Schmon to Arthur A. Schmon, 29 & 30 January 1918

In this letter Eleanore Celeste talks about attending Church, magazines and her interest in education. She states "the more I learn, the thirstier I am for knowledge." The second letter mentions the Philips estate turning into a seniors facility for women after much talk about it possibly turning into a hospital for wounded officers. This letter is labelled number 50.

The letter is written by, presumably, Arthur Schmon's sister. It is signed "Goodnight - Lovingly your sis". In the letter, she describes a sermon E.C. Schmon has just attended. A farewell sermon preached by a doctor who will be going to work for the YMCA.

Grain stacking edge-to-edge grain crushing can also be seen. Organic material can be seen. Edge-to-edge grain crushing is seen throughout the image. Contains the inclusion of a finer domain.

Generally coarse grained, with a few different fine grained domains. Clasts range from small to large, ranging from sub-angular to sub-rounded in shape. Domain boundaries are clear, and the sample also contains rotation structures and lineations.

Coarse grained sample with clasts that range from small to large in size. The clast shape ranges from angular to rounded, and many grains are fractured. Grain crushing is present in large amounts. This includes edge-to-edge crushing as well as grains that are crushed into one another. Rotation structures are also common among the clasts that are sub-rounded to rounded. Areas of finer sediment can also be seen.

Coarse grained sample, with small clasts. Clasts range from sub-angular to sub-rounded in shape. Lineations are abundant throughout the sample. Grain stacking and crushing can also be seen in minor amounts.

Dark grey sediment with medium to small sized grains. The grains are sub-angular in shape. Rotation structures and grain crushing are the most common microstructures seen. Dark organic material and lineations can also be seen.

Grey sediment with clasts ranging from small to medium in size. Edge-to-edge grain crushing is abundant, with some lineations. Minor amounts of rotation structures can also be seen.

Dark brown sediment with small to large sized clasts. The clasts are sub-angular to sub-rounded in shape. Lineations are the most abundant. Minor amounts of rotation structures and comet structures can also be seen. Grain crushing is also present throughout the sample.

Brown sediment with clasts ranging from small to medium in size. The clast shape ranges from angular to sub-rounded. Lineations are abundant in this sample. Faint water escape structures can also be seen as well as grain crushing/stacking.
