Poetics and Politics. AugustoBoal and the Theatre of the Oppressed deals with the ideas and methods of the Brazilian author, director and theatre theorist Augusto Boal. The main purpose of the thesis is to give a description of what can be characterized as the poetics of Augusto Boal. What is the specific nature of his theatre methods and in what way do they differ from traditional theatre? How do these methods actually work? What is the overall intention of the Theatre of the Oppressed? As objects for my research I have selected Forum Theatre and Rainbow of Desire. The reason for this choice is partly that the two methods mentioned have become the most widespread among Boal's theatre forms, partly that they complement each other, the former being a method that works with problems of the material world, in realistic action-based narratives; the latter being an expressionistic analytical method, designed to deal with psychological problems and internalized oppression. Going from a micro- to a macro-level, I first examine the theatrical text of both forms, which in this case includes not only the verbal narrative, but also the performance itself and the setting of it, and even the implied conditions of the whole theatrical situation. Secondly, I turn to the encounter between the text and its actual recipient in the theatrical space. What happens, psychologically, when the observing, but passive spectator is turned into the actor of the play? Thirdly, I discuss the ideological and political implications of the Theatre ofthe Oppressed in real life. The way I interpret Boal's poetics, this is of vital importance. The purpose of the Theatre of the Oppressed is not anything resembling l'art pour l'art. In the contrary, its intention is to teach the oppressed the use of theatre as a martial art, so that they can fight and break the oppression in a social context of the real world. Thus the title Poetics and Politics.

Ilmanlaadun seurantaohjelma Uudellamaalla : Päivitetty seurantaohjelma vuosille 2014-2018

Tässä julkaisussa esitetään ilmanlaadun seurantaohjelma Uudenmaan ympäristökeskuksen (alue nro 1) seurantaalueelle vuosiksi 2014 - 2018. Seurannan vaatimukset ja puitteet määritellään EU:n direktiiveissä, joiden säännökset on sisällytetty ympäristönsuojelulakiin ja -asetukseen sekä ilmanlaatuasetukseen. Alueen kunnat aloittivat Uudenmaan ympäristökeskuksen kanssa yhteisen seurannan vuonna 2004. Seuranta muodostuu seuraavista vuosittain tehtävistä osista: - Jatkuva hengitettävien ja pienhuikkasten sekä typenoksidien mittaus Lohjalla - Jakuva hengitettävien huikkasten ja typenoksidien mittaus Keravalla, Järvenpäässä, Porvoossa ja Hyvinkäällä vuorovuosina kussakin. - Bentso(a)pyreenipitoisuuksien mittaus yhdellä pientaloalueella - Typpidioksidipitoisuuksien määritys passiivikeräimillä valtateiden läheltä yhdeksässä suurimmassa kunnassa yhdessä pisteessä kussakin. - Päästökartoitus kussakin kunnassa (pistepäästöt). - Raportti tuloksista koko alueelta ja kunnittain. Lisäksi mäntyjen päällysjäkälien kunto sekä tieliikenteen päätöt kartoitetaan vuonna 2014. Puun pienpolton ja öljylämmityksen päästöarviot uusitaan sen mukaan, kuin valtakunnalliset päästöarviot kehittyvät ja tarkentuvat. Seurannan toteutuksesta huolehtii kuntien, Uudenmaan ELY-keskuksen ja HSY:n edustajista muodostettu yhteistyöryhmä. Visuell läsning som kompetensområde : en pedagogisk studie i visuell grammatik inom multimodal digital kommunikation

Avhandlingens primära syfte är att upprätta en förståelse för visuell kompetens som en del av visuell litteracitet inom multimodal digital kommunikation i undervisningen. Avhandlingens sekundära syfte är att ur ett pedagogiskt perspektiv lyfta fram visuell litteracitet och visuell kompetens i multimodala diskussioner kring digital pedagogik. Forskningen är kvalitativ och har både teoretisk och empirisk förankring. Den empiriska studien har en fenomenologisk metodansats. Visuell kompetens innebär att visuell läsning behärskas, vilket förutsätter fungerande vokabulär, kritiskt förhållningssätt och kunskaper i läsning och tolkning och användning av bilder. Den visuella grammatikteorin innefattar bildens syntax och semantik. Bilden är ett kontextbundet fenomen, där kontexten berör sociala aspekter, bildens fysiska omgivning samt innehåll. Det empiriska resultatet är att visuell inverkan i undervisningen präglar förberedelser och lektionsmål, berör visuell kommunikationskompetens, inkluderar visuella element som verktyg, strävar involvera flera element i inlärningen och strävar efter att undvika passiva demonstrationer som undervisningsmetod. Bilder behövs som kommunikativt stöd, som inlärningsmetod och som en del i aktivitetspedagogisk undervisning. Genom stöd från läraren kan barnet nå visuell litteracitet som ett kompetensmål, vilket kan ske genom multimodal undervisning.
