The focus of paper is to asses and evaluate new utilisation method of coals combustion resides in glass manufacturing process. Mathematical model of glass manufacturing material balance was used to find favourable proportion of normally used batch materials and coal ash. It was found that possible to substitute up to 20 % of batch with coal ash. On the world glass production scale there is a potential to save 8,4 million tons of silica sand, 6 million tons of dolomite, 3 million tons of clay and 0,2 million tons of lime borate. Furthermore, potential to utilize 2 % of coal combustion products with suggested method.

Research on strategic management of resources for small consulting firms which are international or planning to operate internationally is scarce or not existing at all. It is however important to start generating the theories that will support managers in their decision making and planning. This thesis investigates how do small management consulting firms manage their internal and external resources while operating in international markets. Throughout the study, aspects related to internal and external resources management as well as management strategies in these firms have been examined in relations to firm’s internationalisation activities. A qualitative analysis was carried out whereby four small consulting firms in Export Management Consulting, Integration Services Consulting-, Software Development Consulting- and Business Solutions Consulting companies were interviewed. In order to generate the holistic understanding of the study, the thesis writer selected Value Enhanced Collaborative Working (VECW) model as an analysis framework. The model focuses on people, processes and tools as key elements that small consulting firms consider when thinking about managing their international operations. The findings of the thesis reveal that, internal and external resources in the interviewed consulting firms are viewed similarly, but managed differently depending on the nature and size of the firm. Firm’s management strategies concentrate on the adequate utilisation of the employees' motivation and experiences, effective stakeholders' management, various administrative evaluation processes and tools, the ability to realise useful networks, constant improvement through employee trainings, employees and customers’ feedbacks as well as enhanced freedom in order to support employees’ creativity. Further research to examine functional administrative tools and tools that small consulting firms could use to assess their resource capabilities when planning to become international would benefit the smaller businesses in terms of resources management and certainty in planning.

With the development of electronic devices, more and more mobile clients are connected to the Internet and they generate massive data every day. We live in an age of “Big Data”, and every day we generate hundreds of million magnitude data. By analyzing the data and making prediction, we can carry out better development plan. Unfortunately, traditional computation framework cannot meet the demand, so the Hadoop would be put forward. First the paper introduces the background and development status of Hadoop, compares the MapReduce in Hadoop 1.0 and YARN in Hadoop 2.0, and analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of them. Because the resource management module is the core role of YARN, so next the paper would research about the resource allocation module including the resource management, resource allocation algorithm, resource preemption model and the whole resource scheduling process from applying resource to finishing allocation. Also it would introduce the FIFO Scheduler, Capacity Scheduler, and Fair Scheduler and compare them. The main work has been done in this paper is researching and analyzing the Dominant Resource Fair algorithm of YARN, putting forward a maximum resource utilization algorithm based on Dominant Resource Fair algorithm. The paper also provides a suggestion to improve the unreasonable facts in resource preemption model. Emphasizing “fairness” during resource allocation is the core concept of Dominant Resource Fair algorithm of YARM. Because the cluster is multiple users and multiple resources, so the user’s resource request is multiple too. The DRF algorithm would divide the user’s resources into dominant resource and normal resource. For a user, the dominant resource is the one whose share is highest among all the request resources, others are normal resource. The DRF algorithm requires the dominant resource share of each user being equal. But for these cases where different users’ dominant resource amount differs greatly, emphasizing “fairness” is not suitable and can’t promote the resource utilization of the cluster. By analyzing these cases, this thesis puts forward a new allocation algorithm based on DRF. The new algorithm takes the “fairness” into consideration but not the main principle. Maximizing the resource utilization is the main principle and goal of the new algorithm. According to comparing the result of the DRF and new algorithm based on DRF, we found that the new algorithm has more high resource utilization than DRF. The last part of the thesis is to install the environment of YARN and use the Scheduler Load Simulator (SLS) to simulate the cluster environment.

Innovative and unconventional, Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Suzan-Lori Parks belongs to the continuum of African American playwrights who have contributed to the quest/ion – the quest for and question – of identities for African Americans. Her plays are sites in which the quest/ion of identities for African Americans is pursued, raised and enacted. She makes use of both page and stage to emphasize the exigency of reshaping African Americans’ identities through questioning the dominant ideologies and metanarratives, delegitimizing some of the prevailing stereotypes imposed on them, drawing out the complicity of the media in perpetuating racism, evoking slavery, lynching and their aftereffects, rehistoricizing African American history, catalyzing reflections on the various intersections of sex, race, class and gender orientations, and proffering alternative perspectives to help readers think more critically about issues facing African Americans. In my dissertation, I approach three plays by Parks – The Death of the Last Black Man in the Whole Entire World (1990), Venus (1996) and Fucking A (2000) – from the standpoints of postmodern drama and African American feminism with a focus on the terrains that reflect the quest/ion of identities for African Americans, especially African American women. I argue that postmodern drama and African American feminism provide the ground for Parks to promote the development of a political agenda in order to call into question a number of dominant ideologies and metanarratives with regard to African Americans and draw upon the roles of those metanarratives as a powerful apparatus of racial and sexual oppressions. I also explore how Parks engages with postmodern drama and African American feminism to incorporate her own mininarratives in the dominant discourses. I argue that Parks in these plays uses postmodern drama and African American feminism to encourage reflections on intersectionality in order to reveal the concerns of African Americans, particularly African American women. Her plays challenge the dominant order of hierarchy and patriarchy, while in some cases urging unity and solidarity between African American men and women by showing how unity and solidarity can help them confront race, class and gender oppressions. Furthermore, I discuss how the utilization of postmodern techniques and devices helps Parks to transform the conventional features of playwriting, to create incredulity toward the dominant systems of oppression and to incorporate her mininarratives within the context of dominant discourses.
