Components of customer value in nurse call solutions

This study aimed to identify the value components of nurse call solutions. The value creation of such systems was analyzed by using a framework that was created based on the existing customer value literature. The empirical part of the study was conducted as a multiple-case study by using qualitative research methods. The data for the analysis was gathered through structured interviews in ten Finnish eldercare centers. The results indicate that a nurse call solution creates value for eldercare centers by increasing the safety of the residents, and by improving the efficiency of the staff while also providing cost savings.

Matematiikan joukko-opillisia perusteita

Tutkielman aiheena on joidenkin matematiikan peruskäsitteiden esittäminen joukkoopin keinoin. Muun muassa järjestetyt parit eli kahden komponentin vektorit ja luonnolliset luvut voidaan kohtalaisen yksinkertaisesti esittää pelkistettyinä joukkoina. Pelkistetyt joukot ovat joukkoja, joiden kaikki jäsenet, jäsenten jäsenet ja niin edespäin ovat joukkoja. Määritelmät ja todistukset esitetään formalismin hengessä matemaattisella symbolikielellä. Tarkoitus on varmistua, että perustelut todella noudattavat tutkielman alussa asetettuja sääntöjä ja sopimuksia ja perustuvat tutkielmassa esitettyihin aksioomiin. Aksiomaattisen joukko-opin suhdetta intuitioon perustuvaan naiiviin joukkooppiin pyritään selvittämään perustelemalla syitä eri aksioomien asettamiselle. Monen asetetun aksiooman tarkoitus on mahdollistaa uusien joukkojen muodostaminen tai toisin ilmaisten kertoa, minkälaisia joukkoja on olemassa. Tällaisia aksioomia asetettaessa on oltava varovainen, jottei teoria ajaudu ristiriitaan. Joukkoja on voitava määritellä esimerkiksi ominaisuuden perusteella, jonka täyttävät alkiot valitaan joukon jäseniksi. Siksi esitetään separaatioaksiooma, jonka muoto on niin kutsutun Russellin paradoksin vuoksi harkittava tarkoin. Lopuksi tarkastellaan lyhyesti äärettömiä joukkoja ja joukkoina esitettyjen luonnollisten lukujen yhteenlaskua. Yksinkertaisuudestaan huolimatta äärettömyyden ja yhteenlaskun käsitteet osoittautuvat tämän tutkielman puitteissa liian hankaliksi, kun ne yritetään esittää täsmällisen formaalisesti.

Tutorials for MeVEA Simulation Software

The objective of the thesis was to create three tutorials for MeVEA Simulation Software to instruct the new users to the modeling methodology used in the MeVEA Simulation Software. MeVEA Simulation Software is a real-time simulation software based on multibody dynamics. The simulation software is designed to create simulation models of complete mechatronical system. The thesis begins with a more detail description of the MeVEA Simulation Software and its components. The thesis presents the three simulation models and written theory of the steps of model creation. The first tutorial introduces the basic features which are used in most simulation models. The basic features include bodies, constrains, forces, basic hydraulics and motors. The second tutorial introduces the power transmission components, tyres and user input definitions for the different components in power transmission systems. The third tutorial introduces the definitions of two different types of collisions and collision graphics used in MeVEA Simulation Software.
