A photographic and video record of the project to recreate and reconstruct the glass floor for the opening between the ground and first floors in the rotunda of the Iowa State Capitol. The original glass floor was removed in the early 20th century, but the decision was made to put a new one in to help improve the acoustics and air flow in the building.

Contractors, engineers, owners and manufacturers want to be certain that a new product or procedure will yield beneficial results when compared to the current method of construction. The following research was conducted in order to compare the performance of epoxy coated dowel bars to dowel bars of alternative shapes and materials such as stainless steel and glass fiber reinforced polymer (GFRP). Research was also done on the effect that dowel bar spacing has on the performance of concrete pavements. Four phases of this research are described in this report.

The Iowa Department of Education and Iowa Workforce Development partnered to combine educational and workforce data. The collaboration led to the establishment of the Training and Employment Outcomes System (TEOS) which combines wage data with education records for community colleges. This report summarizes results on four areas: Descriptive wage summaries; the returns to education; transitions for program majors to the workforce; and the five-years in-state retention rate of community college graduates.

Several studies use administrative educational and unemployment insurance records to report average wages [2,7]. The State of Iowa also uses UI records to track students from majors in community colleges to industry of employment. The Iowa Department of Education (IDE) and Iowa Workforce Development (IWD) collaborated to form the Training and Employment Outcomes System.
