2012 Annual Report of the Iowa Utilities Board

The IUB Annual Report contains summaries for IUB dockets that were active during the calendar year as well as IUB background information, IUB work section highlights, descriptions of IUB court cases and participation in federal proceedings, listings of IUB assessments to jurisdictional utilities, and the IUB fiscal year budget.

Iowa Communications Network FY2013 Annual Report

The report includes a recap of the initiatives relating to the Network and highlights usage, including the increased need for bandwidth and access to high-speed Internet by ICN users.

Department of Commerce Iowa Utilities Board, Performance Report, FY2013

This report highlights the services the IUB provided to Iowans, along with results achieved to ensure reliability, and to improve and expand utility service infrastructure in Iowa. This information is provided in accordance with the State of Iowa Accountable Government Act, Iowa Code chapter 8E. The two basic business functions of the IUB are utility regulation and compliance, and resource management. This report covers performance information for both of these areas.

Iowa Office of the State Long-Term Care Ombudsman Annual Report 2013

This report reflects the efforts of the Long-Term Care Ombudsmen by sharing program highlights, discussing issues encountered and making recommendations by the Office in carrying out its federal mandate to act as an advocate for the residents of long-term care facilities.

The data presented in the report examines longitudinal trends about our students, our teacher and our schools from many perspectives. Information such as demographic characteristics, assessment results, college readiness, college readiness measures, courses taken, and financial health are just a few examples, Below are highlights from the 24th edition of the report.

Issue review : community empowerment.

The Community Empowerment Initiative is in the 12th year and is undergoing review for a possible redesign. This issue review provides a history of the program, a review of the current status, and some highlights from the redesign process that is underway.

Issue review : court debt collection.

This issue review provides background regarding the collection of outstanding court debt and highlights changes made in Senate File 2428, Delinquent Debt Collection Act, beginning in fiscal year 2009.

Issue review : narrowband mandate and statewide interoperability.

This issue review highlights the federal mandate requiring all non-federal public safety license holders on frequencies rating from 72 to 512 megahertz to reduce their operating bandwidth from 25 kilohertz to 12.5 kilohertz narrowband channels by January 1, 2013.

Iowa Drug Control Strategy, 2014

The Governor’s Office of Drug Policy Control offers the 2014 Drug Control Strategy pursuant to Iowa Code §80E.1. The purpose of the strategy is to describe the activities of the office and other state departments related to drug enforcement, substance abuse treatment and prevention. This report also highlights trends in respect to substance abuse within the state and sets out innovative approaches to reduce drug abuse and its associated damage to society. Finally, the Strategy shows the state funding levels for the various agencies working in this area, as divided among the three areas of emphasis: prevention, treatment and enforcement.
