We hope to consolidate most of the service update messages we send throughout the month and keep you updated about the work of the Customer Councils. We look forward to sharing survey results with you, and pledge to consider responses carefully as we work to determine benchmarks and set future priorities.

Rebuild Iowa Infrastructure Investment Bonds: Creating Iowa Jobs by Investing in Iowa Infrastructure, January, 2009

The Rebuild Iowa Infrastructure Investment Bonds are exactly that: an investment in Iowa and Iowans. Proposed by Governor Chet Culver in his 2009 Condition of the State address, the Rebuild Iowa bonds are an investment of $700 million to create jobs by addressing much-needed infrastructure projects across the state.

The 2009 Rebuild Iowa Bill: Helping Communities Recoved from the Storms of 2008, January, 2009

Helping families, businesses and communities rebuild after the floods and tornadoes of 2008 remains a top priority. That is why Governor Chet Culver has asked for the first bill sent to him by the Iowa General Assembly in 2009 to be the Rebuild Iowa bill: a $43 million measure, funded from Iowa’s historic cash reserves.

Iowa Leading Indicators Index January 2009

The Iowa Leading Indicators Index (ILII) is a tool for monitoring the future direction of the Iowa economy and State revenues. Its eight components include an agricultural futures price index, an Iowa stock market index, average weekly manufacturing hours in Iowa, initial unemployment claims in Iowa, an Iowa new orders index, diesel fuel consumption in Iowa, residential building permits in Iowa, and the national yield spread.
