Der Apotheker kann - allein oder in Zusammenarbeit mit weiteren Gesundheitsfachpersonen - zur besseren Kontrolle der Risikofaktoren für kardiovaskuläre Krankheiten beitragen. Dies ist das Fazit eines kürzlich in "Archives of Internal Medicine" erschienenen systematischen Reviews [1], durchgeführt von der Apothekerin Dr. Valérie Santschi, PhD, Mitarbeitern der McGill-Universität Montréal und des "Institut universitaire de médecine sociale et préventive " (IUMSP) des "Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Vaudois" (CHUV) Lausanne. Das Review kommt zum Schluss, dass es relevant ist, den Apotheker systematischer in die Prävention und Behandlung von KVK zu integrieren. [Ed.]

Le Mariale lyonnais du manuscrit de Paris, BNF, fr. 818 (XIIIe siècle) : étude linguistique, commentaire historique et édition des miracles inédits avec traduction et glossaire

Le manuscrit de Paris, BNF, fr. 818 renferme dans sa première partie (fol. 1-154) l'une des plus amples collections de miracles de Notre-Dame en langue vulgaire du xiiie siècle. Composée vers 1220 dans la région de Lyon, cette compilation anonyme compte parmi les rares textes littéraires produits au Moyen Âge dans l'espace francoprovençal, domaine géographiquement intermédiaire entre le domaine d'oïl et le domaine d'oc (et englobant notam- ment la plus grande partie de la Suisse romande), mais présentant des caracté- ristiques linguistiques qui lui sont propres. Malgré son grand intérêt linguistique et thématique, la collection de miracles du ms. fr. 818 demeure à ce jour partiellement inédite et n'a fait l'objet que d'études fragmentaires. Nous nous proposons donc d'apporter une contribution aux études francoprovençales en complétant l'édition de ce « Mariale en langue vulgaire » (selon l'expression de P. Meyer) et en ana- lysant la scripta très hétérogène de ce recueil, qui se présente comme un savant mélange de formes françaises et de formes lyonnaises. Grâce à l'exa- men systématique de tous les aspects remarquables de la langue du Mariale (phonétique, morphologie, lexique), nous souhaitons porter à la connais- sance des romanistes les riches matériaux francoprovençaux offerts par ce recueil, matériaux qui demeurent en partie méconnus et se trouvent parfois répertoriés dans les dictionnaires sous la fausse étiquette « française ».

Riesenzellarteriitis : Ätiologische Erkenntnisse und diagnostische Herausforderung für den Pathologen [Giant cell arteritis : Etiological knowledge and diagnostic challenge for pathologists].

Giant cell arteritis is a potentially systemic disease of medium-sized and large caliber arteries, showing a preferential manifestation in the extracranial branches of the carotid artery. The diagnosis is oriented to clinical and histomorphological criteria which will be critically reviewed. Particular emphasis is placed on the differentiation from normal aging processes and from healing stages under steroid therapy. In addition, the advances in our understanding of the disease pathomechanism during the last 10 years will be briefly presented as the basis for the hitherto empiric steroid treatment.

Glasgow Coma Score für den Patienten mit Schädel-Hirn-Trauma [Glasgow Coma Scale in traumatic brain injury].

Even 30 years after its first publication the Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) is still used worldwide to describe and assess coma. The GCS consists of three components, the ocular, motor and verbal response to standardized stimulation, and is used as a severity of illness indicator for coma of various origins. The GCS facilitates information transfer and monitoring changes in coma. In addition, it is used as a triage tool in patients with traumatic brain injury. Its prognostic value regarding the outcome after a traumatic brain injury still lacks evidence. One of the main problems is the evaluation of the GCS in sedated, paralysed and/or intubated patients. A multitude of pseudoscores exists but a universal definition has yet to be defined.
