Resumo:
Aquest projecte es basa en l'estudi de l'oferiment de qualitat de servei en xarxes wireless i satel·litals. Per això l'estudi de les tècniques de cross-layer i del IEEE 802.11e ha sigut el punt clau per al desenvolupament teòric d’aquest estudi. Usant el simulador de xarxes network simulator, a la part de simulacions es plantegen tres situacions: l'estudi de la xarxa satel·lital, l'estudi del mètode d'accés HCCA i la interconnexió de la xarxa satel·lital amb la wireless. Encara que aquest últim punt, incomplet en aquest projecte, ha de ser la continuació per a futures investigacions.

En réussissant à s’ancrer dans les Länder d’Allemagne occidentale, et en devenant de ce fait une formation politique “relevant” à l’échelle de l’ensemble de la République fédérale –et non de sa seule partie orientale–, le parti de la gauche antilibérale Die Linke (La Gauche) a mis fin au système quadripartite qui avait perduré outre-Rhin malgré la présence du Parti du socialisme démocratique au Bundestag depuis 1990. Interrogeant les succès électoraux de Die Linke, qui tiennent non seulement à des facteurs endogènes propres à l’Allemagne (plus grande sensibilité aux inégalités sociales depuis la réunification, désaffection touchant un SPD “désidéologisé” mis en difficulté par les réformes de l’Agenda 2010), mais aussi à des facteurs exogènes dont les effets se font sentir dans de nombreux autres pays européens (paupérisation des classes moyennes et inférieures, réaction anti-libérale à l’encontre des politiques de dérégulation prônées par l’Union Européenne, etc.), le présent article tente de cerner la menace électorale que ce nouvel acteur politique fait peser sur le SPD, ainsi que les réponses que ce dernier y apporte. Il montre également que la percée de Die Linke entraînera à court terme une redéfinition des jeux d’alliances partisanes affectant la constitution et la stabilité des exécutifs gouvernementaux aussi bien régionaux que fédéraux, et augmentant corollairement les risques de “cohabitation à l’allemande”.

En aquest projecte es presenta un escenari de xarxa DTN. Aquest escenari té una serie de problemes que dificulten l’encaminament. Al projecte s’ha proposat un protocol d’encaminament que permet superar aquestes dificultats. Per realitzar això ha estat necessari estudiar i adquirir un coneixement profund sobre el funcionament dels protocols de xarxes DTN. Per demostrar que aquesta proposta solucionava els problemes es presenta l’anàlisi dels resultats d’aplicar el protocol a l’escenari, aquests resultats s’han obtingut amb l’eina de simulació de xarxes NS-2.

Proteins of the Hha/YmoA family co-regulate with H-NS the expression of horizontally acquired genes in Enterobacteria. Systematic mutations of conserved acidic residues in Hha have allowed the identification of D48 as an essential residue for H-NS binding and the involvement of E25. Mutations of these residues resulted in deregulation of sensitive genes in vivo. D48 is only partially solvent accessible, yet it defines the functional binding interface between Hha and H-NS confirming that Hha has to undergo a conformational change to bind H-NS. Exposed acidic residues, such as E25, may electrostatically facilitate and direct the approach of Hha to the positively charged region of H-NS enabling the formation of the final complex when D48 becomes accessible by a conformational change of Hha.

The nucleoid-associated protein H-NS is a global modulator of the expression of genes associated with adaptation to environmental changes. A variant of H-NS expressed in the R27 plasmid was previously shown to selectively modulate the expression of horizontally acquired genes, with minimal effects on core genes that are repressed by the chromosomal form of H-NS. Both H-NS proteins are formed by an oligomerization domain and a DNA-binding domain, which are connected by a linker that is highly flexible in the absence of DNA. We studied DNA binding by means of oligomer-forming chimeric proteins in which domains of the chromosomal and plasmidic variants are exchanged, as well as in monomeric truncated forms containing the DNA-binding domain and variable portions of the linker. Point mutations in the linker were also examined in full-length and truncated H-NS constructs. These experiments show that the linker region contributes to DNA binding affinity and that it is a main component of the distinct DNA binding properties of chromosomal and plasmidic H-NS. We propose that interactions between the linker and DNA limit the flexibility of the connection between H- NS oligomerization and DNA binding and provide an allosteric indirect readout mechanism to detect long- range distortions of DNA, thus enabling discrimination between core and horizontally acquired DNA.

Horizontal acquisition of DNA by bacteria dramatically increases genetic diversity and hence successful bacterial colonization of several niches, including the human host. A relevant issue is how this newly acquired DNA interacts and integrates in the regulatory networks of the bacterial cell. The global modulator H-NS targets both core genome and HGT genes and silences gene expression in response to external stimuli such as osmolarity and temperature. Here we provide evidence that H-NS discriminates and differentially modulates core and HGT DNA. As an example of this, plasmid R27-encoded H-NS protein has evolved to selectively silence HGT genes and does not interfere with core genome regulation. In turn, differential regulation of both gene lineages by resident chromosomal H-NS requires a helper protein: the Hha protein. Tight silencing of HGT DNA is accomplished by H-NS-Hha complexes. In contrast, core genes are modulated by H-NS homoligomers. Remarkably, the presence of Hha-like proteins is restricted to the Enterobacteriaceae. In addition, conjugative plasmids encoding H-NS variants have hitherto been isolated only from members of the family. Thus, the H-NS system in enteric bacteria presents unique evolutionary features. The capacity to selectively discriminate between core and HGT DNA may help to maintain horizontally transmitted DNA in silent form and may give these bacteria a competitive advantage in adapting to new environments, including host colonization.
