Tracta d'aproximar-nos al significat que Dalí va donar a tota la fauna que surt a la seva obra artística. Intentar esbrinar quina època pictòrica va influir més en la fauna daliniana. Aquesta aproximació s'ha fet mitjançant l'estudi de l'obra escrita i l'obra pictòrica de Dalí.

The world distribution of income (estimated from individual country distributions)

We estimate the world distribution of income by integrating individualincome distributions for 125 countries between 1970 and 1998. Weestimate poverty rates and headcounts by integrating the density functionbelow the $1/day and $2/day poverty lines. We find that poverty ratesdecline substantially over the last twenty years. We compute povertyheadcounts and find that the number of one-dollar poor declined by 235million between 1976 and 1998. The number of $2/day poor declined by 450million over the same period. We analyze poverty across different regionsand countries. Asia is a great success, especially after 1980. LatinAmerica reduced poverty substantially in the 1970s but progress stoppedin the 1980s and 1990s. The worst performer was Africa, where povertyrates increased substantially over the last thirty years: the number of$1/day poor in Africa increased by 175 million between 1970 and 1998,and the number of $2/day poor increased by 227. Africa hosted 11% ofthe world s poor in 1960. It hosted 66% of them in 1998. We estimatenine indexes of income inequality implied by our world distribution ofincome. All of them show substantial reductions in global incomeinequality during the 1980s and 1990s.

Comparing and validating hypothesis test procedures: Graphical and numerical tools

When the behaviour of a specific hypothesis test statistic is studied by aMonte Carlo experiment, the usual way to describe its quality is by givingthe empirical level of the test. As an alternative to this procedure, we usethe empirical distribution of the obtained \emph{p-}values and exploit itsinformation both graphically and numerically.

La formació en primers auxilis psicològics i emergències en el títol de grau en psicologia

En el nou marc universitari que dibuixa l’adaptació de les titulacions a l’Espai Europeud’Educació Superior, es proposa que el titulat de grau en Psicologia acabi la carrera amb lescompetències bàsiques mínimes d’ajut psicològic que li permetin fer front a situacionsd’emergència inesperades i reaccionar de manera professional sense empitjorar la situació operjudicar l’estat de les víctimes, i amb un mínim de seguretat en allò què ha de fer o, al menys,en allò que no ha de fer. Es considera que hauria de tenir, com a mínim, el mateix nivell deformació que tenen altres col·lectius que habitualment es troben implicats en una emergència(personal sanitari, bombers, voluntaris, etc.) per tal que no es trobi en inferioritat de condicionspel que es refereix a la manera de proporcionar primers auxilis psicològics a víctimes.
