Anàlisi de la controvèrsia L'Hôpital - Bernoulli

El 1696 el Marquès de L'Hôpital publicà el primer tractat sistemàtic sobre càlcul diferencial, l'"Analyse des infiniments petits", que es basava en les "Lectiones de calculo differentialium" de Johann Bernoulli. Però podem parlar d'aportacions originals per part de L'Hôpital? L'objectiu d'aquest treball de recerca és comparar el contingut i la forma de l'Analyse i de les Lectiones i detectar possibles influències d'altres autors per intentar, finalment, donar una resposta a aquesta qüestió.

Les communautés bulu contre la plantation industrielle HEVECAM au Cameroun

In 1975 the Kribi region (Southern Cameroon) became host of the rubber plantation HEVECAM, the third largest employer in Cameroon. The establishment of the plantation has been preceded by the expropriation of customary land and by the destruction of the rainforest used by local populations. As a result, conflicts – mostly latent – pitting neighbouring Bulu communities against the plantation have occurred, especially during the last few years. Drawing on fieldwork data as well as on anthropological, economic and historical materials, I try to explore a new way of looking at such environmental conflicts by arguing that they reflect the struggle between two distinct institutional logics with different impacts on the environment, i.e. the logic of property versus the one of possession. In short, the logic of possession corresponds to a multi-functional community-based forest management, while the logic of property gave birth to the commercial monoculture model, the highest stage of the transformation of an ecosystem in order to match the requirements of property. It is argued that the conflict between the logic of possession and the logic of property is at the heart of many cases of “environmentalisms of the poor” that arise in reaction to “development”.

Estudi de l’obra de Pere Coromines i del seu pensament polític a través d’aquesta. Se centra en el tractament que fa l’escriptor de temes com ara la nació, la ciutat (Barcelona), la naturalesa, el paisatge, l’Empordà, la Mediterrània. En paraules de l’autor, “en l'obra de Coromines es detecta una tensió entre la temptació de remuntar-se a un paisatge primigeni, natural, no contaminat, i la reivindicació del paper de la Ciutat en la conformació de la Catalunya nacional”

Bajo las estrellas del Romanticismo : un viaje a través de la noche

Con este trabajo he pretendido realizar un estudio aproximado a la música del período romántico cuya temática gira en torno al mundo de la noche. Lo he hecho a través de los compositores de música para piano más representativos de la época, con una breve pincelada a la música sinfónica y a las artes representativas. He pretendido demostrar cómo cada compositor reflejó su personalidad a través de un concepto tan abstracto y romántico como es el mundo de la noche.
