Detecció de problemes en l’atenció a dones víctimes de violència de gènere durant el procés judicial a Catalunya

Aquesta recerca té per finalitat aproximar-se a la percepció que tenen les víctimes de violència masclista del tracte que reben dels diferents operadors en seu judicial, i mostrar com aquestes actuacions les han afectat no només a nivell personal, sinó també a nivell processal. L’objectiu principal és copsar l’experiència de les dones víctimes de violència de gènere en referència al seu pas pels jutjats especialitzats de Catalunya. Per la consecució de l’objectiu s’ha treballat, d’una banda, amb la revisió i actualització teòrica i contextual del tema d’investigació i, per l’altra i principalment, amb la realització de més de 40 entrevistes als diferents operadors judicials i a dones víctimes de violència masclista i a entitats que treballen amb elles. Els resultats ens demostren que existeixen múltiples mancances en l’abordatge de la violència masclista als jutjats, que es reflecteixen en temes com: la manca d’informació, la valoració del risc, l’existència de mites i prejudicis vers les dones, la manca de formació, ... Aquestes mancances són generadores de l’anomenada victimització secundària. La situació descrita posa de manifest la necessitat de fer un veritable abordatge dels problemes detectats per tal de fer realment efectiva i eficient la lluita contra la violència masclista sobre les dones a seu judicial.

El Estudio de las inundaciones históricas desde un enfoque contextual. La ciudad de Girona, un ejemplo

Este artículo propone el enfoque contextual como nuevo marco de estudio de las inundaciones históricas. El enfoque contextual tiene su origen en la reflexión geográfica sobre los riesgos naturales iniciada en la escuela geográfica norteamericana hace ya más de medio siglo y pone especial énfasis en la dimensión humana de estos fenómenos definida geográfica e históricamente, sin olvidar los aspectos físicos de las inundaciones en el territorio objeto de estudio. En una primera parte del presente artículo se describen los niveles de análisis y componentes que componen el estudio de las inundaciones histórica5 desde el enfoque contextual. Ecological and Economic Impacts within the Environmental Input-Output Framework

The environmental input-output approach reveals the channels through which the environmental burdens of production activities are transmitted throughout the economy. This paper uses the input-output framework and analyses the changes in Spanish emission multipliers during the period 1995-2000. By decomposing the global changes in multipliers into different components, it is possible to evaluate separately the economic and ecological impacts captured by the environmental input-output model. Specifically, in this study we distinguish between the effects on multipliers caused by changes in emission coefficients (the ecological impacts) and the effects on multipliers caused by changes in technical coefficients (the economic impacts). Our results show a significant improvement in the ecological impacts of production activities, which contributed negatively to changes in emission multipliers. They also show a deterioration in the economic impacts, which contributed positively to changes in emission multipliers. Together, these two effects lead to a small reduction in global multipliers during the period of analysis. Our results also show significant differences in the individual behaviour of different sectors in terms of their contribution to multiplier changes. Since there are considerable differences in the way individual sectors affect the changes in emission levels, and in the intensity of these effects, this means that the final effects will basically depend on the activity considered. The private and fiscal returns to schooling and the effect of public policies on private incentives to invest in education: a general framework and some results for the EU

This paper develops a comprehensive framework for the quantitative analysis of the private and fiscal returns to schooling and of the effect of public policies on private incentives to invest in education. This framework is applied to 14 member states of the European Union. For each of these countries, we construct estimates of the private return to an additional year of schooling for an individual of average attainment, taking into account the effects of education on wages and employment probabilities after allowing for academic failure rates, the direct and opportunity costs of schooling, and the impact of personal taxes, social security contributions and unemployment and pension benefits on net incomes. We also construct a set of effective tax and subsidy rates that measure the effects of different public policies on the private returns to education, and measures of the fiscal returns to schooling that capture the long-term effects of a marginal increase in attainment on public finances under c

Taxation of banks: a theoretical framework

The goal of this paper is to develop a model of financial intermediation analyze the impact of various forms of taxation. The model considers in a unified framework various functions of banks: monitoring, transaction services and asset transformation. Particular attention is devoted to conditions for separability between deposits and loans. The analysis focuses on: (i) competition between banks and alternative financial arrangements (investment funds and organized security markets), (ii) regulation, and (iii) bank's monopoly power and risk taking behavior.

Political alliances and organisational change in political parties: a framework for analysis

This article sets out a theoretical framework for the study of organisational change within political alliances. To achieve this objective it uses as a starting point a series of premises, the most notable of which include the definition of organisational change as a discrete, complex and focussed phenomenon of changes in power within the party. In accordance with these premises, it analyses the synthetic model of organisational change proposed by Panebianco (1988). After examining its limitations, a number of amendments are proposed to adapt it to the way political alliances operate. The above has resulted in the design of four new models. In order to test its validity and explanatory power in a preliminary manner, the second part looks at the organisational change of the UDC within the CiU alliance between 1978 and 2001. The discussion and conclusions reached demonstrate the problems of determinism of the Panebianco model and suggest, tentatively, the importance of the power balance within the alliance as a key factor.

Testing, not modelling, the impact of cohesion support: a theoretical framework and some preliminary results for the Spanish regions

This paper develops a simple model that can be used to estimate the effectiveness of Cohesion expenditure relative to similar but unsubsidized projects, thereby making it possible to explicitly test an important assumption that is often implicit in estimates of the impact of Cohesion policies. Some preliminary results are reported for the case of infrastructure investment in the Spanish regions.

Party competition in regional elections: a framework for analysis

Whilst scholars have long recognised that processes of decentralisation create new regional arenas where distinct patterns of party competition are likely to emerge, there has been little systematic analysis of the dynamics of such competition. This working paper thus proposes a framework for analysing party competition between regional branches of state-wide parties, and autonomist parties, in regional arenas. Firstly, the different strategies political parties may adopt in response to their perceptions of voter preferences and to the strategies pursued by their competitors are identified. Secondly, different factors that impact on parties' strategic choices, and which may constrain a party's ability to select electorally optimal strategies in a given political context, are proposed.

Creació d'un framework per aplicacions web amb la plataforma .NET

Hi ha moltes empreses que fan aplicacions de gestió Web. Una d’aquestes empreses és per la que s’ha fet el projecte. El problema és que tenen molts projectes per desenvolupar, per tant van decidir d’implementar un conjunt d’eines amb l’objectiu de facilitar la implementació de les aplicacions als programadors. S’ha desenvolupat una llibreria .dll, que conté aquestes noves eines. També s’ha utilitzat codi JavaScript i CSS per tal d’implementar alguna funcionalitat i donar una presentació amb aquestes noves eines.

Linear Aggregation In The Social Accounting Matrix Framework

In economic literature, information deficiencies and computational complexities have traditionally been solved through the aggregation of agents and institutions. In inputoutput modelling, researchers have been interested in the aggregation problem since the beginning of 1950s. Extending the conventional input-output aggregation approach to the social accounting matrix (SAM) models may help to identify the effects caused by the information problems and data deficiencies that usually appear in the SAM framework. This paper develops the theory of aggregation and applies it to the social accounting matrix model of multipliers. First, we define the concept of linear aggregation in a SAM database context. Second, we define the aggregated partitioned matrices of multipliers which are characteristic of the SAM approach. Third, we extend the analysis to other related concepts, such as aggregation bias and consistency in aggregation. Finally, we provide an illustrative example that shows the effects of aggregating a social accounting matrix model.
