Interpretació del recull poètic 'La germana, l'estrangera' de Maria-Mercè Marçal a partir de la tipologia radical de Dolors Oller. Ens proposem amb aquest treball copsar les actituds interrogatives de Maria-Mercè Marçal subjectivades en clau de dona, d'amant i de mare, situant el lector en un discurs visionari el qual es gestiona a través de la paraula poètica simbolista. El recull és un clam de dona enamorada que reflecteix les interioritats de la pròpia experiència vital de l'autora.

Ultrastructural data on the life cycle of the parasite, Perkinsus atlanticus (Apicomplexa), on the clam, Ruditapes phillipinarum, in the Mediterranean

An Apicomplexan Perkinsus species has been found parasitizing the clam Ruditapes philippinarum (= Tapes semidecussatus) collected on the Mediterranean coast in the region of the Ebro Delta (Tarragona, Spain). Light and transmission electron microscopy were used to study different stages of this parasite during zoosporulation induced by incubation in thioglycollate medium and seawater. During incubation the trophozoites began zoosporulation, which originated prezoosporangia and zoosporangia at different developmental stages. Successive cytokinesis and nucleokinesis gave rise to prezoospores, which became elongate and differentiated in biflagellated zoospores. The latter presented large mitochondria and an apical complex formed by a conoid, polar ring, micronemes, rhophtries and subpellicular microtubules. The zoosporangium wall showed some typical lamosomes and a discharge tube developed in early phases of incubation. Ultrastructural data were compared with the only four species of the genus Perkinsus previously described. The morphological data, the host and the geographic proximity suggest that the species located on the Mediterranean coast was Perkinsus atlanticus.

Transcriptomics of In Vitro Immune-Stimulated Hemocytes from the Manila Clam Ruditapes philippinarum Using High-Throughput Sequencing

The Manila clam (Ruditapes philippinarum) is a worldwide cultured bivalve species with important commercial value. Diseases affecting this species can result in large economic losses. Because knowledge of the molecular mechanisms of the immune response in bivalves, especially clams, is scarce and fragmentary, we sequenced RNA from immune-stimulated R. philippinarum hemocytes by 454-pyrosequencing to identify genes involved in their immune defense against infectious diseases.

Protein phosphatase inhibition assays for okadaic acid detection in shellfish: matrix effects, applicability and comparison with LC-MS/MS analysis

The applicability of the protein phosphatase inhibition assay (PPIA) to the determination of okadaic acid (OA) and its acyl derivatives in shellfish samples has been investigated, using a recombinant PP2A and a commercial one. Mediterranean mussel, wedge clam, Pacific oyster and flat oyster have been chosen as model species. Shellfish matrix loading limits for the PPIA have been established, according to the shellfish species and the enzyme source. A synergistic inhibitory effect has been observed in the presence of OA and shellfish matrix, which has been overcome by the application of a correction factor (0.48). Finally, Mediterranean mussel samples obtained from Rı´a de Arousa during a DSP closure associated to Dinophysis acuminata, determined as positive by the mouse bioassay, have been analysed with the PPIAs. The OA equivalent contents provided by the PPIAs correlate satisfactorily with those obtained by liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry (LC–MS/MS).

La Fantasia Il·lustrada és un treball d’investigació entorn la fantasia lliure, gènere compositiu de la segona meitat del segle XVIII. Aprofundeix, a partir d’un extens buidatge bibliogràfic, en els coneixements sobre aquest gènere oblidat, ubicant-lo en el seu entorn musical i social, i reconeix l’empremta que va deixar en l’estètica d’aquells anys, la qual justifica la seva vàlua i el clam per reivindicar el reconeixement que es mereix. Per tal d’aconseguir aquest fi, aquest treball elabora sobre les diferents realitats estètiques de meitat de segle, sobre l’art de la jardineria, sobre Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, i sobre la pràctica improvisativa.
