Este texto intenta plasmar en forma de artículo los principales resultados obtenidos después de 3 años de estudio alrededor de la importancia que tienen las lenguas, las variedades lingüísticas y la enseanza de las lenguas en la construcción de nuevas identidades. Concretamente, he realizado este trabajo con chicos latinoamericanos que llegaron a Barcelona entre los años 2000 y 2004. Esta investigación está basada, principalmente, en datos obtenidos mediante las herramientas que nos otorga la etnografia, sobretodo la etnografía sociolingüística (Heller, 2004) y que han sido analizados, a su vez, bajo la óptica de lo que algunos autores llaman sociolingüística crítica o interaccionista ( Rampton,1995, Pennycook, 2007). Este estudio se centra en jóvenes latinoamericanos en Barcelona porque las estadísticas demuestran que representan el mayor número de alumnos “nouvinguts” en la zona metropolitana y, porque al mismo tiempo, han generado un impacto importante en el discurso de los medios de comunicación; situándolos como miembros de bandas. Mi estudio busca poder contribuir al entendimiento de los complejos procesos de construcción de desigualdad en la escuela, en la que se ven inmiscuidos mayormente los jóvenes de ascendencia extranjera (ver los últimos resultados del informe PISA 2010 ). En el caso concreto de los jóvenes latinoamericanos, considero que el problema va más allá de la conformación de tribus urbanas (Feixa 2006). Desde la sociolingüística crítica, pero también desde el campo de la didáctica de las lenguas, se considera que en el contexto escolar se producen dinámicas sociales distanciadas de la escuela. El presente trabajo se inscribe en una amplia tradición de los estudios sobre lengua e identidad en los contextos escolares de Cataluña. Trabajos como los de Boyer (1991), Boix (1993), Nussbaum (2003), Pujolar (1997), Unamuno y Nussbaum (2006) y Woolard, 1989) se han encargado, sobre todo, de describir los contextos y las situaciones en las que el catalán o el castellano son utilizados como recursos para establecer diferencias o establecer identidades.

We present a new technique for audio signal comparison based on tonal subsequence alignment and its application to detect cover versions (i.e., different performances of the same underlying musical piece). Cover song identification is a task whose popularity has increased in the Music Information Retrieval (MIR) community along in the past, as it provides a direct and objective way to evaluate music similarity algorithms.This article first presents a series of experiments carried outwith two state-of-the-art methods for cover song identification.We have studied several components of these (such as chroma resolution and similarity, transposition, beat tracking or Dynamic Time Warping constraints), in order to discover which characteristics would be desirable for a competitive cover song identifier. After analyzing many cross-validated results, the importance of these characteristics is discussed, and the best-performing ones are finally applied to the newly proposed method. Multipleevaluations of this one confirm a large increase in identificationaccuracy when comparing it with alternative state-of-the-artapproaches.

Nitrogen doped silicon (NIDOS) films have been deposited by low-pressure chemical vapor deposition from silane SiH4 and ammonia NH3 at high temperature (750°C) and the influences of the NH3/SiH4 gas ratio on the films deposition rate, refractive index, stoichiometry, microstructure, electrical conductivity, and thermomechanical stress are studied. The chemical species derived from silylene SiH2 into the gaseous phase are shown to be responsible for the deposition of NIDOS and/or (silicon rich) silicon nitride. The competition between these two deposition phenomena leads finally to very high deposition rates (100 nm/min) for low NH3/SiH4 gas ratio (R¿0.1). Moreover, complex variations of NIDOS film properties are evidenced and related to the dual behavior of the nitrogen atom into silicon, either n-type substitutional impurity or insulative intersticial impurity, according to the Si¿N atomic bound. Finally, the use of NIDOS deposition for the realization of microelectromechanical systems is investigated.

Drug safety issues pose serious health threats to the population and constitute a major cause of mortality worldwide. Due to the prominent implications to both public health and the pharmaceutical industry, it is of great importance to unravel the molecular mechanisms by which an adverse drug reaction can be potentially elicited. These mechanisms can be investigated by placing the pharmaco-epidemiologically detected adverse drug reaction in an information-rich context and by exploiting all currently available biomedical knowledge to substantiate it. We present a computational framework for the biological annotation of potential adverse drug reactions. First, the proposed framework investigates previous evidences on the drug-event association in the context of biomedical literature (signal filtering). Then, it seeks to provide a biological explanation (signal substantiation) by exploring mechanistic connections that might explain why a drug produces a specific adverse reaction. The mechanistic connections include the activity of the drug, related compounds and drug metabolites on protein targets, the association of protein targets to clinical events, and the annotation of proteins (both protein targets and proteins associated with clinical events) to biological pathways. Hence, the workflows for signal filtering and substantiation integrate modules for literature and database mining, in silico drug-target profiling, and analyses based on gene-disease networks and biological pathways. Application examples of these workflows carried out on selected cases of drug safety signals are discussed. The methodology and workflows presented offer a novel approach to explore the molecular mechanisms underlying adverse drug reactions

PURPOSE: Pharmacovigilance methods have advanced greatly during the last decades, making post-market drug assessment an essential drug evaluation component. These methods mainly rely on the use of spontaneous reporting systems and health information databases to collect expertise from huge amounts of real-world reports. The EU-ADR Web Platform was built to further facilitate accessing, monitoring and exploring these data, enabling an in-depth analysis of adverse drug reactions risks.METHODS: The EU-ADR Web Platform exploits the wealth of data collected within a large-scale European initiative, the EU-ADR project. Millions of electronic health records, provided by national health agencies, are mined for specific drug events, which are correlated with literature, protein and pathway data, resulting in a rich drug-event dataset. Next, advanced distributed computing methods are tailored to coordinate the execution of data-mining and statistical analysis tasks. This permits obtaining a ranked drug-event list, removing spurious entries and highlighting relationships with high risk potential.RESULTS: The EU-ADR Web Platform is an open workspace for the integrated analysis of pharmacovigilance datasets. Using this software, researchers can access a variety of tools provided by distinct partners in a single centralized environment. Besides performing standalone drug-event assessments, they can also control the pipeline for an improved batch analysis of custom datasets. Drug-event pairs can be substantiated and statistically analysed within the platform's innovative working environment.CONCLUSIONS: A pioneering workspace that helps in explaining the biological path of adverse drug reactions was developed within the EU-ADR project consortium. There are many online communities with membergenerated and openly available multimedia content. Their successdepends on having active contributing users and on producing useful content. With this criterion, the community of sound practitioners that has emerged in Freesound is a successful case of interest to be studied. But to understand it and support it further we need an appropriate analysis methodology. In this paper we propose some qualitative and quantitative approaches for its characterization, focusing on the analysis of organizational structure, shared goals, user interactions and vocabulary sharing. We think that the proposed approach can be applied to otheronline communities with similar characteristics.

Chiral symmetrical alk-2-yne-1,4-diols have been stereoselectively transformed into 5-alkyl-4-alkenyl-4-phenyl-1,3-oxazolidin- 2-ones, which are precursors of quaternary α-amino β-hydroxy acids. The key step was the cyclization of the bis(tosylcarbamates) of 2- phenylalk-2-yne-1,4-diols, easily obtained from the starting chiral diols. These cyclizations were accomplished with complete regioselectivity and up to 92:8 dr in the presence of catalytic amounts of Ni(0) or Pd (II) derivatives under microwave heating.
