Las relaciones de las teorías de Jung y el trabajo de Grotowski con sus actores

La finalidad del trabajo es demostrar que los objetivos que Grotowski pretendió en su trabajo con los actores en su primera época, ligada al teatro laboratorium, pueden ser contemplados desde el mapa conceptual de la psicología profunda o analítica creada por C.G. Jung. Este acercamiento, permite reimaginar este “proceso de autopenetración” que el creador polaco buscaba con sus actores desde esta visión psicológica concreta. Cabe afirmar, por tanto, que este trabajo actoral iba más allá de la dimensión esc��nica y era un método “terapéutico” de desarrollo de la personalidad del individuo-actor en su camino de transformación para llegar a ser lo que Grotowski denominó “actor santo”.

Land use regulation and productivity - Land matters: Evidence from a UK Supermarket chain

We use store-specific data for a major UK supermarket chain to estimate the impact of planning on store output. Using the quasi-natural experiment of the variation in policies between England and other UK countries, we isolate the impact of Town Centre First policies. We find that space contributes directly to store productivity; and planning policies in England directly reduce output both by reducing store sizes and forcing stores onto less productive sites. We estimate that since the late 1980s planning policies have imposed a loss of output of at least 18.3 to 24.9% - more than a “lost decade’s” growth. JEL codes: D2, L51, L81, R32.

Prehospital ticagrelor in ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction

Background:The direct-acting platelet P2Y receptor antagonist ticagrelor can reduce the incidence of major adverse cardiovascular events when administered at hospital admission to patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). Whether prehospital administration of ticagrelor can improve coronary reperfusion and the clinical outcome is unknown. Methods: We conducted an international, multicenter, randomized, double-blind study involving 1862 patients with ongoing STEMI of less than 6 hours' duration, comparing prehospital (in the ambulance) versus in-hospital (in the catheterization laboratory) treatment with ticagrelor. The coprimary end points were the proportion of patients who did not have a 70% or greater resolution of ST-segment elevation before percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) and the proportion of patients who did not have Thrombolysis in Myocardial Infarction flow grade 3 in the infarct-related artery at initial angiography. Secondary end points included the rates of major adverse cardiovascular events and definite stent thrombosis at 30 days. Results: The median time from randomization to angiography was 48 minutes, and the median time difference between the two treatment strategies was 31 minutes. The two coprimary end points did not differ significantly between the prehospital and in-hospital groups. The absence of ST-segment elevation resolution of 70% or greater after PCI (a secondary end point) was reported for 42.5% and 47.5% of the patients, respectively. The rates of major adverse cardiovascular events did not differ significantly between the two study groups. The rates of definite stent thrombosis were lower in the prehospital group than in the in-hospital group (0% vs. 0.8% in the first 24 hours; 0.2% vs. 1.2% at 30 days). Rates of major bleeding events were low and virtually identical in the two groups, regardless of the bleeding definition used

La teoria de la recepció i de l’experiència estètica en Hans-Robert Jauss

Es presenta críticament l’obra de Hans-Robert Jauss, fent inc��s en la seva teoria de l’experiència estètica. El capítol 1 descriu el context de l’obra d’aquest esteta i hermeneuta alemany en tres àmbits: a) l’ històricointel•lectual, que s’emmarca dintre la teoria literària de la recepció o Escola de Constança; b) l’evolució en el temps teòrica de l’obra, i c) la seva pretesa relació amb la postmodernitat. El capítol 2 relaciona les aportacions teòriques de Jauss amb el seu antecedent filosòfic més important: l’hermenèutica de Gadamer. El tercer capítol presenta la teoria de l’experiència estètica de Jauss, deixada al marge pel nostre àmbit acadèmic, malgrat el seu interès, i en fa una valoració crítica. Finalment, un Annex sobre la teoria estètica kantiana i una conclusió indiquen la continuació d’aquesta investigació.

En aquest volum es recullen les intervencions fetes en el col·loqui La Romanistique dans tous ses états, que tingué lloc a Béziers del 15 al 17 de maig de 2008. El col·loqui s"articulà al voltant de diverses temàtiques, que anaven des de la historiografia de la lingüística romànica fins a les propostes actuals de gestió lingüística (didàctica, protecció de llengües amenaçades), passant per altres temes; tot això, amb el denominador comú de la intenció de fer un estat de la lingüística romànica en un moment en què, si bé és cultivada en institucions diverses i en un esplet de congressos i altres trobades científiques, perd terreny en l"ensenyament universitari, on la perspectiva global i comparatista s"està abandonant.

Classical references and their significance in The Magic Mountain by Thomas Mann

Although Thomas Mann’s novel The Magic Mountain has been the object of innumerable studies, this paper suggests that so far none of these has given truly close attention to the significance of the classical references in this novel with regard to the search for a true humanism. This is probably owing to the generally held belief that the influence of the classical tradition is relatively inconsequential in relation to the ample conjunction of philosophical ideas on which the novel is based. This article takes a differing view and, through a close analysis and comment of the explicit and implicit classical notions in the text, concludes that these ideas are also a valuable key to a greater comprehension of the ideological design of the main character, Hans Castorp, and to a certain degree they also help to continue to reflect on the most enigmatic and controversial episode of the novel: the young protagonist’s descent to the plain from the magical mountain (Zauberberg) in order to take part in the great tragedy of World War I, alien as is any war to the prevalent but ultimately futile desire that love (Liebe) should in the end prevail in the life of humans.
