Trends in economic research: an international perspective

Given the recent efforts in several countries to reorganize the research institutional setting to improve research productivity, our analysis addresses the following questions: To which extent has the recent awareness over international quality standards in economics around the world been reflected in research performance? How have individual countries fared? Do research quantity and quality indicators tell us the same story? We concentrate on trends taking place since the beginning of the 1990s and rely on a very comprehensive database of scientific journals, to provide a cross-country comparison of the evolution of research in economics. Our findings indicate that Europe is catching-up with the US but, in terms of influential research, the US maintains a dominant position. The main continental European countries, Germany, France, Italy and Spain, experienced some of the largest growth rates in economic scientific output. Other European countries, namely the UK, Norway, the Netherlands, Denmark, and Sweden, have shown remarkable progress in per capita output. Collaborative research seems to be a key factor explaining the relative success of some European countries, in particular when it comes to publishing in top journals, attained predominantly through international collaborations.

L'aplicació seguirà el patró MVC (model, vista, controlador) així com altres patrons, frameworks, tecnologies utilitzades en entorns web o en l'accés a dades, així com un sistema gestor de base de dades relacional.

Implications of dynamic trading for insurance markets

We study the interaction between insurance and capital markets within singlebut general framework.We show that capital markets greatly enhance the risksharing capacity of insurance markets and the scope of risks that areinsurable because efficiency does not depend on the number of agents atrisk, nor on risks being independent, nor on the preferences and endowmentsof agents at risk being the same. We show that agents share risks by buyingfull coverage for their individual risks and provide insurance capitalthrough stock markets.We show that aggregate risk enters private insuranceas positive loading on insurance prices and despite that agents will buyfull coverage. The loading is determined by the risk premium of investorsin the stock market and hence does not depend on the agent s willingnessto pay. Agents provide insurance capital by trading an equally weightedportfolio of insurance company shares and riskless asset. We are able toconstruct agents optimal trading strategies explicitly and for verygeneral preferences.

Bola de Drac: Doblatge, influència i cançons. Anàlisi del procés de doblatge, la influència sociaI, el llenguatge i elaboració de les cançons de Bola de Drac

El meu treball de fi de grau gira al voltant de la sèrie Bola de Drac, doblada al català i emesa a TVC des de l’any 1990. Primer de tot, he fet un recorregut per l’arribada de l’anime i de Bola de Drac a Catalunya. A continuació, parlo del doblatge en general i, en concret, de la sèrie, posant especial atenció al procés de traducció, revisió i ajust. El treball també pretén posar en relleu la influència de la sèrie a la societat catalana, amb especial èmfasi en el seu llenguatge. La següent part del treball tracta la traducció i composició musical de les cançons de Bola de Drac, primer explicant-ne la seva importància i, tot seguit, fent una anàlisi de quatre de les cançons de la sèrie, comparant amb les originals el contingut semàntic de les lletres i la composició musical. Finalment, a l’annex trobareu entrevistes a professionals relacionats amb Bola de Drac i una enquesta realitzada a 1.832 persones relacionada amb la influència i les cançons de la sèrie.
