CODAPACK3D. A new version of Compositional Data Package

The statistical analysis of compositional data should be treated using logratios of parts,which are difficult to use correctly in standard statistical packages. For this reason afreeware package, named CoDaPack was created. This software implements most of thebasic statistical methods suitable for compositional data.In this paper we describe the new version of the package that now is calledCoDaPack3D. It is developed in Visual Basic for applications (associated with Excel©),Visual Basic and Open GL, and it is oriented towards users with a minimum knowledgeof computers with the aim at being simple and easy to use.This new version includes new graphical output in 2D and 3D. These outputs could bezoomed and, in 3D, rotated. Also a customization menu is included and outputs couldbe saved in jpeg format. Also this new version includes an interactive help and alldialog windows have been improved in order to facilitate its use.To use CoDaPack one has to access Excel© and introduce the data in a standardspreadsheet. These should be organized as a matrix where Excel© rows correspond tothe observations and columns to the parts. The user executes macros that returnnumerical or graphical results. There are two kinds of numerical results: new variablesand descriptive statistics, and both appear on the same sheet. Graphical output appearsin independent windows. In the present version there are 8 menus, with a total of 38submenus which, after some dialogue, directly call the corresponding macro. Thedialogues ask the user to input variables and further parameters needed, as well aswhere to put these results. Student's watcher : comparison between ASP.NET and PHP+CSS

"Student’s Watcher” is a small Web application which wants to show in a visual, simple and fast way, the evolution of the students. The main project table displays such things as marks and comments about students. We can add a comment for each mark to explain why this mark. The objective is to be able to know if some student has a problem, how is going his year, marks in other courses, or even, to know if he has a bad week in a different subjects. We can see the evolution of students in past years to do an objective comparison. It also allows inserting global comments of student, we have a list of these, and all professors can add new ones, where we can see more general valuations. “Student’s Watcher” was begun in ASP.net, but finally my project would be developed in PHP, HTML and CSS. This project wants to be a comparison between two of most important languages used nowadays, ASPX and PHP

Generador d'horaris d'un centre docent

El projecte intenta resoldre el problema que suposa organitzar l'horari escolar en els centres docents. S'usa el Visual Bàsic per aconseguir, omplir i mostrar el contingut d’una base de dades feta amb Microsoft Access. Per generar el resultat, s'utilitza el llenguatge de programació lògica Prolog, el qual en ser un llenguatge declaratiu i utilitzant una llibreria de restriccions que permet fer modificacions d’una forma molt versàtil, aconsegueix un entorn de programació ideal per atacar aquest tipus de problema. Amb una interacció del Visual Bàsic amb el Prolog es pot mostrar d’una manera elegant i fàcil d’entendre el resultat obtingut

Trabajo final de carrera .NET : protectora de animales

Para justificar el proyecto, durante la fase de elaboración del plan de trabajo, se examinaron diversas webs de sociedades protectoras de animales, haciendo un análisis exhaustivo de las que se consideraron más representativas. Tras la realización de un análisis de varios proyectos similares al que planteaba la propuesta del enunciado, se detectaron diversas deficiencias en las webs analizadas. Con el proyecto se ha conseguido como productos la aplicación web y los documentos de Planificación del Trabajo, Diseño y Análisis de Proyecto y los manuales entregados con la Implementación.La aplicación web ha resultado finalmente un producto amigable e intuitivo que cumple todos los requisitos expuestos en el enunciado así como todas las funcionalidades que se detallan a continuación en las síntesis de cada una de las fases de trabajo.

Intraocular Straylight And Contrast Sensitivity Two Months After Lasik: Intraocular Straylight Measurement As A New Parameter In Visual Quality Assessment

PROPÒSIT: Estudiar l'efecte de la cirurgia LASIK en la llum dispersa i la sensibilitat al contrast. MÈTODES: Vint-i-vuit pacients van ser tractats amb LASIK. La qualitat visual es va avaluar abans de l'operació i dos mesos després. RESULTATS: La mitjana de llum dispersa i la sensibilitat al contrast abans de l'operació no va canviar en dos mesos després. Només un ull tenia un marcat augment en la llum dispersa. Nou ulls van presentar una lleugera disminució en la sensibilitat al contrast. S'han trobat dues complicacions. CONCLUSIÓ: Després de LASIK la majoria dels pacients (80%) no van tenir complicacions i van mantenir la seva qualitat visual. Uns pocs pacients (16%) van tenir una mica de qualitat visual disminuïda. Molt pocs (4%) van tenir complicacions clíniques amb disminució en la qualitat visual.

Motion capture amb Microsoft Kinect

El proyecto trata de convertirse en una herramienta para animadores 3D, tanto para los que hacen películas como para los que modelan videojuegos, que necesiten de un software para simplificar el trabajo que conlleva animar un modelo 3D. Todo sin necesidad de usar trajes especializados. El proyecto, usando Kinect, convertirá los movimientos captados por la cámara y los agregará al modelo, creando una animación basándose en los movimientos reales de una persona.
