La investigación arqueológica de los campamentos de campaña romano-republicanos localizados en el curso inferior del río Ebro permite una nueva perspectiva de estudio sobre los inicios de la conquista romana en la península ibérica.

Synthesis and multi-target biological profiling of a novel family of rhein derivatives as disease-modifying anti-Alzheimer agents

We have synthesized a family of rheinhuprine hybrids to hit several key targets for Alzheimer"s disease. Biological screening performed in vitro and in Escherichia coli cells has shown that these hybrids exhibit potent inhibitory activities against human acetylcholinesterase butyrylcholinesterase, and BACE-1, dual Aβ42 and tau anti-aggregating activity, and brain permeability. Ex vivo studies with the leads (+)- and ()-7e in brain slices of C57bl6 mice have revealed that they efficiently protect against the Aβ-induced synaptic dysfunction , preventing the loss of synaptic proteins and/or have a positive effect on the induction of long term potentiation. In vivo studies in APP-PS1 transgenic mice treated i.p. for 4 weeks with (+)- and ()-7e have shown a central soluble Aβ lowering effect, accompanied by an increase in the levels of mature amyloid precursor protein (APP). Thus, (+)- and ()-7e emerge as very promising disease-modifying anti-Alzheimer drug candidates.

Convergent Approaches for the Synthesis of the Anti-tumoral Peptide, Kahalalide F. Study of Orthogonal Protecting Groups

Kahalalide compounds are peptides that are isolated from a Hawaiian herbivorous marine species of mollusc, Elysia rufescens, and its diet, the green alga Bryopsis sp. Kahalalide F and its synthetic analogues are the most promising compounds of the Kahalalide family because they show anti-tumoral activity. Linear solid-phase syntheses of Kahalalide F have been reported. Here we describe several new improved synthetic routes based on convergent approaches with distinct orthogonal protection schemes for the preparation of Kahaladide analogues. These strategies allow a better control and characterization of the intermediates because more reactions are performed in solution. Five derivatives of Kahalalide F were synthesized using several convergent approaches.

Proyecto modificado del acondicionamiento y mejora del Rec del Molí de Pals, entre la captación del río Ter y el sifón bajo el Daró (Gerona)

L’objectiu del projecte és la substitució d’un canal de terra (Rec del Molí de Pals) a un reg mitjançant tuberia de Polietilé estructurada. Es parteix d’un projecte original que es va pensar en tuberia de PRFV, que després va passar a Polietilé d’Alta densitat estructurat, i que s’havia de modificar completament, des dels materials a la traça, obres de fàbrica, pressupost, acabant per ser un PROJECTE MODIFICAT, totalment diferent al projecte original. La metodologia a seguir consistirà en que un cop fet l’estudi agronòmic, detallar la resta de característiques tècniques, materials i econòmiques amb la finalitat de que el PROJECTE MODIFICAT sigui eina suficient per a ser una completa guia per a poder desenvolupar les obres.

Blanc sota negre. Treballs des de l'imperceptible / 4. Antònia del Río: Esporgats

Esporgats és un recorregut entre dos projectes d’Antònia del Río que comparteixen com a marc de treball aquest món heretat, observant-lo des dels marges de materials sobrants que delimitenla seva forma. D’una banda, Xiu-xius enblanc. La biblioteca absent (2011) instal·la parets d’estanteries difícilment perceptibles i un horitzó de lloms blancs on reposen llibres silenciats, oblidats, esdevinguts illegibles. De l’altra, des prés d’edicions prèvies realitzades a partir de fonsbibliotecaris, la tercera realització del projecte Esporgats (2014) apilona una sèrie de materials sostrets a la circulació i privats de venda consistents en muntanyes de catàlegs d’artistes, d’exposicionscol·lectives i pòsters de promoció culturalde reconeguts pintors catalans editats, des dels anys 90, pel Departament de Cultura i el mateix centre d’art on s’exposen.
