Les habilitats Informacionals a la Biblioteca de la Universitat Oberta de Catalunya

In this paper the initiatives carried out by the Biblioteca Virtual UOC in relation to the information skills, in the UOC curricula as well as in the context of new European higher education area, are presented. Looking forward the catalogue of generic skills to be defined by the UOC, in relation to which the Virtual Library has submitted a proposal to introduce a course on information skills to be offered during the first semester, the Library has chosen to develop and carry out two complementary initiatives. On the one hand, to offer a course of information skills for teachers within the program of training courses for teachers organized by the Teaching Action Management Area. On the other, the Library participates in the presential meetings organized by the University by means of workshops to guide students in finding information.

How to redesign a virtual library website: a case study

This abstract presents how we redesigned, with user-centred design methods, the way we organize and present the content on the UOC Virtual Library website. The content is now offered in a way that is more intuitive, usable and easy to understand, based on criteria of customization, transparency and proximity.The techniques used to achieve these objectives included benchmarking, interviews and focus groups during the user requirement capture phase and user tests to assess the process and results.

La Biblioteca Virtual de la UOC ha d'arribar a ser un centre de recursos especialitzat, que englobi els continguts docents i de recerca generats a la Universitat i la millor selecció de documents digitals i físics de les matèries relacionades amb les línies de recerca definides per l'institut de recerca de la mateixa Universitat, esdevingui una eina imprescindible de les activitats de docència, recerca, gestió i formació contínua i s'hi integri.

We present a case study of the redesign of the organizational presentation and content of the Virtual Library website at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (Open University of Catalonia, UOC), based on a user-centered design strategy. The aim of the redesign was to provide users with more intuitive, usable and understandable content (textual content, resources and services) by implementing criteria of customization, transparency and proximity. The study also presents a selection of best practices for applying these criteria to the design of other library websites.

En el desenvolupament del nostre treball diari, bibliotecaris i documentalistes duem a terme tasques d'identificació, localització, obtenció, reproducció, comunicació i distribució d'obres que majoritàriament estan protegides pels anomenats drets d'autor. És per això necessari que coneguem a fons aquesta matèria, i puguem identificar els drets a què estan subjectes les obres i els límits a aquests drets que conformen el marc en què podem operar de forma lícita.

La transposició de la Directiva 2001/29/CE sobre drets d'autor i l'impacte sobre les biblioteques i centres similars : elements per al debat

A Espanya encara tenim pendent la transposició de la Directiva 2001/29/CE "relativa a la armonización de determinados aspectos de los derechos de autor y derechos afines a los derechos de autor en la sociedad de la información", la qual suposarà una modificació del marc legal que regula aquesta matèria. En aquest article s'analitzen els aspectes de la Directiva que més poden afectar el desenvolupament dels serveis que ofereixen les biblioteques i centres similars, prestant atenció als punts que poden ser més conflictius a la llum de les dues propostes que fins al moment s'han plantejat.

Los canales informativos : punta de lanza de los portales españoles

En els últims anys la paraula portal ha aparegut íntimament lligada als avatars de l'economia digital. En aquest article, i a partir d'una metodologia d'avaluació de recursos digitals, s'analitzen els canals sobre actualitat i sobre Internet de tres portals generalistes espanyols (eresMas, Inicia i Terra) per tal d'observar si el seu contingut i el tractament que aquest rep són satisfactoris de cara a l'ús que els internautes fan d'aquells.

Portals espanyols : massa productes per a pocs clients?

D'un temps ençà, amb diversos alts i baixos, sembla que en el nostre país es viu el que podríem anomenar febre dels portals. Aquest fet ha comportat que es posessin en marxa una gran quantitat d'aquestes plataformes a Internet sense cap mena de model clar i amb els objectius poc definits. En aquest article es proposa una evolució històrica dels portals, una anàlisi dels seus continguts i serveis i una proposta de model de negoci, així com l'esbós del possible futur.
