Modelización de procesos de membranas aplicados a alimentos modelos y derivados

El presente grupo ha recorrido ya un largo camino trabajando en el estudio de sistemas enzimáticos, diseño y simulación de biorreactores con enzimas en soluble e inmovilizadas, comprobando la seria dificultad de separación y eliminación de las mismas en la etapa final del proceso, así como las problemáticas de preparación y uso de las enzimas inmovilizadas en los mas diversos tipos de soportes. En este estudio se investigo la aplicación de ultrafiltración y ósmosis inversa en soluciones modelo de zumos para su clarificación y concentración, también en la eliminación de melanoidinas en concentrados de zumos. A partir de esta investigación se elaboraron membranas con enzimas pectinoliticas inmovilizadas. Al igual que se determino las condiciones óptimas de aplicación en sistemas modelo a escala de laboratorio y planta piloto.

Nuevo disipador para edificación sismorresistente. 1ª parte: caracterización y modelos de predicción

A new energy dissipator, based on yielding of steel under shear response, has been developed and recently tested. It is H shaped and web stiffened. Yielding moin part is mechanized from one piece of rectangular shoped steel bar. Its conception let obtain thin and well-stiffened web cross sections without welded parts. Main experimentally obtained charecteristics are a yielding point near 0.5 mm of displacement, yielding loads between 14 kN and 20 kN and a dissipated energy, before damage appears in the web, from 10 kJ to 21 kJ. All tested specimens have developed large deformations without web buckling. Whe web degradation appers, flanges and stiffeners keep dissipating an important amount of energy. Proposed numerical models and simple mathematical expressions offer well correlated results when compared to the experimental ones

Comunicación de riesgo y sistemas de información en la Web: cinco modelos

Al mismo tiempose propone una metodologíasimple para llevar a cabo unacomparación que permita extraerconclusiones y plantearrecomendaciones en un aspectode la gestión de la información que puede resultar clave para salvar bienes materiales y vidas humanas.

O fotojornalismo depois da fotografia: Modelos de configuração da cadeia produtiva do fotojornalismo em tempos de convergência digital

This research report concerns about the post-doctoral activities, conducted betweenSeptember 2010 and March 2011 at the University Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona. It comes to identify the consequences of the convergence phenomenon on photojournalism.Thus, in a more general approach, the effort is to to recovery the structural elements of the convergence concept in journalism. It aims to map, as well, the current debates about the repositioning of photographic practices linked to the news produced in a widespread adoption of digital devices in contemporary workflow. It is also specified,the analysis of photographic collectives as a result of the convergence frameworkapplied to photojournalism; the debate on ways of funding; alternatives facing thealleged crisis of press photography and, finally, proposes to create qualifying stages ofdevelopment of photojournalism in the digital age as well as the proposition of hypotheses concerning the structure of the productive routines. In addition, we present three cases to be analyzed in order to explore and verify the occurrence ofcharacteristics that may identify the object of research in the state of practice. Finally,we work in a series of conclusions, revisiting the main hypotheses. With this strategy, ispossible to define an sequence of analysis capable of addressing the characteristics present in the studied cases and other ones in future, thus, be able to affirm this stage as a step, in the continuous historical course of photojournalism.

Modelos estadísticos y evaluación: tres estudios en educación

The educational system in Spain is undergoing a reorganization. At present, high-school graduates who want to enroll at a public university must take a set of examinations Pruebas de Aptitud para el Acceso a la Universidad (PAAU). A "new formula" (components, weights, type of exam,...) for university admission is been discussed. The present paper summarizes part of the research done by the author in her PhD. The context for this thesis is the evaluation of large-scale and complex systems of assessment. The main objectives were: to achieve a deep knowledge of the entire university admissions process in Spain, to discover the main sources of uncertainty and topromote empirical research in a continual improvement of the entire process. Focusing in the suitable statistical models and strategies which allow to high-light the imperfections of the system and reduce them, the paper develops, among other approaches, some applications of multilevel modeling.

Los fondos y las colecciones de archivo en las bibliotecas: modelos para su control y acceso

First, we examine the context of creation of special collection units in libraries, and the reasons why libraries compile archive materials and collections. Second, we focus on the techniques used in library environments to describe archive materials and collections and to guarantee their accessibility. We examine the models used in the United States and the United Kingdom to describe and access these materials, and the cooperative projects launched in these two countries in the past few years. Finally, we offer a preliminary analysis of how these types of materials are currently dealt with in Catalan libraries, and issue some recommendations to improve their archiving and access.
