El presente Trabajo Final de Carrera (TFC) está centrado en la Gestión de un Proyecto de Implantación de un Repositorio de Objetos Digitales de Aprendizaje en una Universidad, y queda englobado en el área de Gestión de Proyectos de la Ingeniería Técnica Informática de Gestión.

Los principios, las prácticas y la investigación sobre diseño universal han sidoimplantados progresivamente en diferentes ámbitos, respecto al diseño y la preparación de entornos para la atención a las necesidades de las personas con discapacidad. En el contexto internacional, este desarrollo ha estado vinculado al avance en derechos sobre igualdad de oportunidades. En el contexto legislativo español, en la Ley 51/2003 se introducen definiciones sobre «accesibilidad universal» y «diseño para todos», con lo que se genera un marco que posibilita el análisis de fuentes conceptuales y de aplicación en nuestro contexto, de las aportaciones del diseño universal, así como su consideración para la fundamentación de prácticas de innovación e investigación en nuestros ámbitos universitarios. En este trabajo, a partir de una amplia revisión de fuentes y aportaciones de gran trayectoria en este campo, se presentan y analizan distintos enfoques, a través de los cuales se están desarrollando y aplicando prácticas de diseño universal en el ámbito de la enseñanza universitaria, y se plantean sus implicaciones educativas. Este análisis permite concluir que las aplicaciones del diseño universal parecen más prometedoras para el progreso hacia metas de inclusión en el entorno universitario que una perspectiva de «adaptación curricular»; aunque se pone de manifiesto la necesidad de que la investigación que se desarrolle en nuestros contextos aporte pruebas y elementos que favorezcan su implementa- ción. Aplicar prácticas docentes y de planificación en la enseñanza universitaria con bases en el diseño universal podría contribuir a superar, eliminar o evitar en un futuro barreras en el aprendizaje, no solo limitadoras del progreso de las personas con discapacidad, sino también del conjunto del alumnado. Asimismo, las conclusiones de este trabajo plantean aplicaciones y estimaciones de nuevas muestras empíricas como puntos de partida para futuras y posibles determinaciones de enfoques conceptuales.

Web 2.0 services such as social bookmarking allow users to manage and share the links they find interesting, adding their own tags for describingthem. This is especially interesting in the field of open educational resources, asdelicious is a simple way to bridge the institutional point of view (i.e. learningobject repositories) with the individual one (i.e. personal collections), thuspromoting the discovering and sharing of such resources by other users. In this paper we propose a methodology for analyzing such tags in order to discover hidden semantics (i.e. taxonomies and vocabularies) that can be used toimprove descriptions of learning objects and make learning object repositories more visible and discoverable. We propose the use of a simple statistical analysis tool such as principal component analysis to discover which tags createclusters that can be semantically interpreted. We will compare the obtained results with a collection of resources related to open educational resources, in order to better understand the real needs of people searching for open educational resources.

In this paper, we report a preliminary analysis of the impact of Global Navigation Satellite System Reflections (GNSS-R) data on ionospheric monitoring over the oceans. The focus will be on a single polar Low Earth Orbiter (LEO) mission exploiting GNSS-R as well as Navigation (GNSS-N) and Occultation (GNSS-O) total electron content (TEC) measurements. In order to assess impact of the data, we have simulated GNSS-R/O/N TEC data as would be measured from the LEO and from International Geodesic Service (IGS) ground stations, with an electron density (ED) field generated using a climatic ionospheric model. We have also developed a new tomographic approach inspired by the physics of the hydrogen atom and used it to effectively retrieve the ED field from the simulated TEC data near the orbital plane. The tomographic inversion results demonstrate the significant impact of GNSS-R: three-dimensional ionospheric ED fields are retrieved over the oceans quite accurately, even as, in the spirit of this initial study, the simulation and inversion approaches avoided intensive computation and sophisticated algorithmic elements (such as spatio-temporal smoothing). We conclude that GNSS-R data over the oceans can contribute significantly to a Global/GNSS Ionospheric Observation System (GIOS). Across Latin America 420 indigenous languages are spoken. Spanish is considered a second language in indigenous communities and is progressively introduced in education. However, most of the tools to support teaching processes of a second language have been developed for the most common languages such as English, French, German, Italian, etc. As a result, only a small amount of learning objects and authoring tools have been developed for indigenous people considering the specific needs of their population. This paper introduces Multilingual–Tiny as a web authoring tool to support the virtual experience of indigenous students and teachers when they are creating learning objects in indigenous languages or in Spanish language, in particular, when they have to deal with the grammatical structures of Spanish. Multilingual–Tiny has a module based on the Case-based Reasoning technique to provide recommendations in real time when teachers and students write texts in Spanish. An experiment was performed in order to compare some local similarity functions to retrieve cases from the case library taking into account the grammatical structures. As a result we found the similarity function with the best performance

This paper describes a bibliographic analysis of the vision of Marshal McLuhan and the vision adopted by diverse current authors regarding the use of new interactive learning technologies. The paper also analyzes the transformation that will have to take place in the formal surroundings of education in order to improve their social function. The main points of view and contributions made by diverse authors are discussed. It is important that all actors involved in the educational process take in consideration these contributions in order to be ready for future changes.

The traditional model of learning based on knowledge transfer doesn't promote the acquisition of information-related competencies and development of autonomous learning. More needs to be done to embrace learner-centred approaches, based on constructivism, collaboration and co-operation. This new learning paradigm is aligned with the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) requirements. In this sense, a learning experience based in faculty' librarian collaboration was seen as the best option for promoting student engagement and also a way to increase information-related competences in Open University of Catalonia (UOC) academic context. This case study outlines the benefits of teacher-librarian collaboration in terms of pedagogy innovation, resources management and introduction of open educational resources (OER) in virtual classrooms, Information literacy (IL) training and use of 2.0 tools in teaching. Our faculty-librarian's collaboration aims to provide an example of technology-enhanced learning and demonstrate how working together improves the quality and relevance of educational resources in UOC's virtual classrooms. Under this new approach, while teachers change their role from instructors to facilitators of the learning process and extend their reach to students, libraries acquire an important presence in the academic learning communities.

Many educators and educational institutions have yet to integrate web-based practices into their classrooms and curricula. As a result, it can be difficult to prototype and evaluate approaches to transforming classrooms from static endpoints to dynamic, content-creating nodes in the online information ecosystem. But many scholastic journalism programs have already embraced the capabilities of the Internet for virtual collaboration, dissemination, and reader participation. Because of this, scholastic journalism can act as a test-bed for integrating web-based sharing and collaboration practices into classrooms. Student Journalism 2.0 was a research project to integrate open copyright licenses into two scholastic journalism programs, to document outcomes, and to identify recommendations and remaining challenges for similar integrations. Video and audio recordings of two participating high school journalism programs informed the research. In describing the steps of our integration process, we note some important legal, technical, and social challenges. Legal worries such as uncertainty over copyright ownership could lead districts and administrators to disallow open licensing of student work. Publication platforms among journalism classrooms are far from standardized, making any integration of new technologies and practices difficult to achieve at scale. And teachers and students face challenges re-conceptualizing the role their class work can play online.

In this paper we describe a browsing and searching personalization system for digitallibraries based on the use of ontologies for describing the relationships between all theelements which take part in a digital library scenario of use. The main goal of thisproject is to help the users of a digital library to improve their experience of use bymeans of two complementary strategies: first, by maintaining a complete history recordof his or her browsing and searching activities, which is part of a navigational userprofile which includes preferences and all the aspects related to community involvement; and second, by reusing all the knowledge which has been extracted from previous usage from other users with similar profiles. This can be accomplished in terms of narrowing and focusing the search results and browsing options through the use of a recommendation system which organizes such results in the most appropriatemanner, using ontologies and concepts drawn from the semantic web field. The complete integration of the experience of use of a digital library in the learning process is also pursued. Both the usage and information organization can be also exploited to extract useful knowledge from the way users interact with a digital library, knowledge that can be used to improve several design aspects of the library, ranging from internal organization aspects to human factors and user interfaces. Although this project is still on an early development stage, it is possible to identify all the desired functionalities and requirements that are necessary to fully integrate the use of a digital library in an e-learning environment.

We adapt the Shout and Act algorithm to Digital Objects Preservation where agents explore file systems looking for digital objects to be preserved (victims). When they find something they “shout” so that agent mates can hear it. The louder the shout, the urgent or most important the finding is. Louder shouts can also refer to closeness. We perform several experiments to show that this system works very scalably, showing that heterogeneous teams of agents outperform homogeneous ones over a wide range of tasks complexity. The target at-risk documents are MS Office documents (including an RTF file) with Excel content or in Excel format. Thus, an interesting conclusion from the experiments is that fewer heterogeneous (varying skills) agents can equal the performance of many homogeneous (combined super-skilled) agents, implying significant performance increases with lower overall cost growth. Our results impact the design of Digital Objects Preservation teams: a properly designed combination of heterogeneous teams is cheaper and more scalable when confronted with uncertain maps of digital objects that need to be preserved. A cost pyramid is proposed for engineers to use for modeling the most effective agent combinations

El laboratori de física és el lloc que permet apropar la Física i la seva realitat quotidiana, tant la tecnològica com la científica, a l'estudiantat mitjançant experiències i demostracions motivadores. En general, les pràctiques de laboratori se solen realitzar per parelles, encara que no necessàriament, propiciant un treball en equip. Ara bé, pensant en aquelles estudiantes i aquells estudiants que no poden seguir el calendari de sessions presencials establert, per raons justificables, s’ha generat un material docent innovador consistent en la filmació de vídeos d’algunes de les pràctiques que actualment s'estan duent a terme en el laboratori de Física de l'EPSEM. Les filmacions van acompanyades per uns tutorials que permeten introduir la pràctica i il·lustrar tots els conceptes teòrics que hi intervenen i algunes simulacions. A més, també hi ha disponible uns tests d'autoavaluació i d'avaluació que acreditin l'aprenentatge de l'estudiant. L’objectiu és procurar, a partir d’una experimentació virtual, minimitzar la manca d’adquisició d’algunes habilitats pròpies de l’experimentació real al laboratori. Els productes creats han estat inclosos en el web del Departament de Física Aplicada de la UPC a l'EPSEM, on es proporciona tot un conjunt d’eines i informacions pensades per facilitar una millor forma de treballar en un laboratori. En aquest web es poden trobar, les normes generals per a la realització de les pràctiques i per a l’elaboració dels informes preceptius, el guió i l’esquema del muntatge de cada experimentació, així com enllaços a webs relacionats amb la física, que poden resultar molt útils per a l’alumnat. El pas endavant que suposa el material desenvolupat, ampliable en un futur, és sens dubte una alternativa educativa complementaria per garantir una formació més integral de les nostres estudiantes i dels nostres estudiants, en correspondència amb l’esperit de fomentar l'autoaprenentatge que traspua el procés d'integració a l'EEES. Com a part inicial d'un procés més ampli d’implementació dels principis del Disseny Instruccional Universal a la Universitat de Vic, aquest estudi ha examinat i explorat els estils d'aprenentatge dels estudiants de primer curs de la Diplomatura de Mestre a la Universitat de Vic. Els objectius han estat, analitzar els perfils dels estils d’aprenentatge dels alumnes de primer curs d'educació per determinar si hi havia diferències significatives en l'estil d'aprenentatge preferit en base a especialitat escollida, edat i sexe, així com també detectar correlacions entre estilsd'aprenentatge i rendiment acadèmic. S’ha estudiat una mostra de 243 estudiants. L'instrument de mesura ha estat el “Index of Learning Styles Questuinnaire”. S’ha procedit a fer un anàlisi descriptiu i ANOVA. Els resultats mostren una distribució de les quatre dimensions del ILS similars als perfils d’altres poblacions d'altres universitats. La immensa majoria dels estudiants resulten visuals i sensorial i indiferents per a les dimensions actiu-reflexiu i seqüencial-global. Per especialitat i edat només les dimensions actiureflexiu ivisual-verbal han mostrat diferències significatives. Per gènere no s'han trobat diferèncie significatives . Pel que respecta al rendiment acadèmic, només la dimensió visual-verbal sembla tenir una relació significativa, obtenint qualificacions sensiblement més altes aquells estudiants amb un perfil verbal més alts que els efectes visuals. S’ha generat dues noves variables "nivell de dispersió" i "grau de risc". No s’ha trobat cap relació entre aquests dos factors i el rendiment acadèmic. S’han discutit els resultats. L’instrument ILSQ sembla presentar un valor moderat com a element predictiu de dificultats l'aprenentatge de l’alumnat i el seu rendiment acadèmic.

Aquest treball s'estructura en tres parts. En la primera hi ha el projecte de treball. La segona part vol reflectir tot el marc conceptual elaborat i reelaborat amb profunditat entorn de la recerca, el qual és necessari per a estructurar, entendre i autoavaluar-la. El marc conceptual se centra bàsicament en tres aspectes: en primer lloc, el mètode de recerca emprat en la recerca PIC a les escoles; en segon lloc, l'evolució de les tecnologies en l'ensenyament paral·lelament a la mateixa concepció de l'ensenyament-aprenentatge, i, com a conseqüència dels dos anteriors, finalment, s'hi analitza l'evolució del concepte d'alfabetització, concretant l'estudi en l'alfabetització digital, com també la possibilitat ampliada per a les TIC de fomentar l'aprenentatge col·laboratiu. La tercera part del treball analitza la funció social de l'escola en la societat del coneixement.
