Rep Sol el Morell?

L’objecte del treball és analitzar com afecta la instal·lació d’una gran empresa en un poble relativament petit, més concretament com va afectar la implantació d’unarefineria al 1975, que ara pertany a Repsol YPF, a la vida del Morell (Tarragonès).Per veure les diferències més clarament s’ha decidit fer una comparació amb un altrepoble similar, Vilallonga del Camp, que fa frontera amb el Morell. L’elecció d’aquestpoble és un dels passos més importants del treball.L’objectiu d’aquest treball és analitzar l’evolució d’un poble del Tarragonès, el Morell,després de la instal·lació d’una refineria de la Respol. Com que la implantació va ser famés de trenta anys, hem considerat convenient avaluar les diferències i similituds ambels canvis d’un altre poble. Creiem que aquesta elecció és un pas fonamental del treball,i per això, ha estat, probablement, la part més difícil.Hem pensat en molts candidats, per exemple La Pobla de Montornès, Salomó, laSecuita (Tarragonès), Riudoms (Baix Camp), etc.Però finalment ens vam decantar per Vilallonga del Camp, també situat al Tarragonès;ja que reuneix les condicions necessàries per realitzar l’anàlisi que volíem fer. Si bé notenia ni la mateixa extensió ni el mateix nombre d’habitants quan es va implantar larefineria (uns dels objectius desitjats a l’hora d’escollir el poble a comparar), sí quecompleix el requisit que la indústria estava localitzada només en el terme municipal delMorell i no de Vilallonga del Camp. Addicionalment, hem considerat que les similitudsamb el Morell eren més importants que aquestes discrepàncies. És a dir, ambdós pobleses dedicaven al mateix sector productiu en el moment de la implantació de la indústria,l’agricultura, a més, els nuclis urbans estan separats per només un quilòmetre, això voldir que la climatologia és la mateixa i que les diferències de comunicacions no són gaireimportants; per tant partien d’una situació similar i amb les mateixes expectatives defutur. A partir d’aquí preteníem estudiar l’evolució dels dos pobles, i com tots aquestsfactors han anat variant al llarg del temps.

Structural and gas-sensing properties of WO3 nanocrystalline powders obtained by a sol-gel method from tungstic acid

WO3 nanocrystalline powders were obtained from tungstic acid following a sol-gel process. Evolution of structural properties with annealing temperature was studied by X-ray diffraction and Raman spectroscopy. These structural properties were compared with those of WO3 nanopowders obtained by the most common process of pyrolysis of ammonium paratungstate, usually used in gas sensors applications. Sol-gel WO3 showed a high sensor response to NO2 and low response to CO and CH4. The response of these sensor devices was compared with that of WO3 obtained from pyrolysis, showing the latter a worse sensor response to NO2. Influence of operating temperature, humidity, and film thickness on NO2 detection was studied in order to improve the sensing conditions to this gas.

El objetivo de este artículo es mostrar cómo, en el conjunto de la obra poética de M. A, Riera, se detecta una evidente sensibilidad antimetafísica que le impulsa a elogiar la piel, la carne y el cuerpo de las personas concretas, rehuyendo así cualquier vivencia platónica o idealista del amor. La lectura minuciosa de sus poemas permite descubrir, en opinión del autor, a Platón y al platonismo como uno de los grandes responsables del desprecio del amor carnal, causa indudable de sufrimiento humano por el hecho de no querer reconocer la dimensión somática de eros.

Rockfall travel distance analysis by using empirical models (Solà d'Andorra la Vella, Central Pyrenees)

The prediction of rockfall travel distance below a rock cliff is an indispensable activity in rockfall susceptibility, hazard and risk assessment. Although the size of the detached rock mass may differ considerably at each specific rock cliff, small rockfall (<100 m3) is the most frequent process. Empirical models may provide us with suitable information for predicting the travel distance of small rockfalls over an extensive area at a medium scale (1:100 000¿1:25 000). "Solà d'Andorra la Vella" is a rocky slope located close to the town of Andorra la Vella, where the government has been documenting rockfalls since 1999. This documentation consists in mapping the release point and the individual fallen blocks immediately after the event. The documentation of historical rockfalls by morphological analysis, eye-witness accounts and historical images serve to increase available information. In total, data from twenty small rockfalls have been gathered which reveal an amount of a hundred individual fallen rock blocks. The data acquired has been used to check the reliability of the main empirical models widely adopted (reach and shadow angle models) and to analyse the influence of parameters which affecting the travel distance (rockfall size, height of fall along the rock cliff and volume of the individual fallen rock block). For predicting travel distances in maps with medium scales, a method has been proposed based on the "reach probability" concept. The accuracy of results has been tested from the line entailing the farthest fallen boulders which represents the maximum travel distance of past rockfalls. The paper concludes with a discussion of the application of both empirical models to other study areas.

Relación precio-calidad de los destinos turísticos españoles de sol y playa

The aim of this article is to estímate price-quality relatíon of Spain resorts from ‘sun and beach’ segment. This study uses initially observed prices, but after obtains net pnces -estimated-, discounting services and characteristics prices. Methodologically, this article is based in hedonic methods, often used in economic analysis. Results show important differences between ‘prices observed’ and ‘adjusted prices’ by services and characteristics. Empirical results obtained in this article should be useful for taking decisions from public and prívate agents

La carne en El caos de Wilcock y en los Cuentos fríos de Piñera

En el presente ensayo, primero hacemos un recorrido por las biografías de Virgilio Piñera y J. Rodolfo Wilcock para poner de manifiesto sus afinidades vitales, cómo ambos pertenecieron a los mismos círculos intelectuales y literarios y con parecida actitud ante el ideario de las revistas y los grupos del momento. Seguidamente analizamos los principales rasgos de la obra del escritor cubano como el absurdo, la idea de lo siniestro (con Freud a la cabeza) y la ironía para ponerlo en relación con los cuentos El caos de Wilcock. Por último, concluimos que el sadismo y la crueldad, el disentimiento y el cinismo describen la obra cuentística de ambos.

Influence on present-day coastal dynamics and evolution of a relict subaqueous delta lobe: Sol de Riu lobe, Ebro Delta. Continental Shelf Research, 74: 94-104. doi:10.1016/j.csr.2013.11.021

We used high-resolution swath-bathymetry data to characterise the morphology of the abandoned subaqueous Sol de Riu delta lobe in the Ebro Delta, Western Mediterranean Sea. This study aims to assess the influence of an abandoned delta lobe on present-day coastal dynamics in a micro-tidal environment. Detailed mapping of the relict Sol de Riu lobe also showed a set of bedforms interpreted as footprints of human activities: seasonal V-shaped depressions on the middle shoreface due to boat anchoring and old trawling marks between 16 and 18 m water depth. Estimations of the mobility of bottom sediment showed that the shallowest shoreface (i.e. less than 7 m depth) is the most dynamic part of the relict lobe, while the middle shoreface experienced significant morphological changes since the lobe was abandoned. The deepest shoreface (i.e. water depth in excess of 15 m), which corresponds to the front of the lobe, is defined by a very small potential for morphological change. Simulations showed that while the relict lobe does not significantly affect the typical short period waves (Tp ≈4 s) in the study area, it does interfere with the most energetic wave conditions (Tp ≥ 7 s) acting as a shoal leading to the concentration of wave energy along the shoreline northwest of the lobe. The consequence of such modification of the high-energy wave propagation pattern by the relict lobe is an alteration of the wave-induced littoral sediment dynamics with respect to a situation without the lobe.

Huella de carbono de movilidad y energía en el Área Metropolitana de Concepción. Una comparativa entre los barrios de Brisas del Sol y Pedro Valdivia Alto como ejemplos del urbanismo de baja densidad en zonas de renta alta del Área Metropolitana de Concepción

Mediante el uso de la herramienta de la huella de carbono se busca saber el impacto ambiental de la vida cotidiana de las clases de renta alta de ciertos barrios seleccionados del Área Metropolitana de Concepción. Concretamente se estudiará la huella de carbono de la movilidad y el consumo energético en las viviendas. La extracción de información se basa en el uso de encuestas casa por casa y un posterior análisis informático de los datos obtenidos. Finalmente se propondrán medidas para reducir la huella de carbono en el caso que esta exceda los valores considerados sostenibles a largo plazo.

Projecte bàsic d’una presa al Barranc del Solà per a regulació de reg al Terme Municipal de Salàs de Pallars (Pallars Jussà)

Confecció d’un projecte que doni les bases tècniques necessàries per la construcció d’una presa al Barranc del Solà (o de Rivert) per regular el reg d’una superfície aproximada de 500 ha al terme municipal de Salàs de Pallars a la comarca del Pallars Jussà, per la Comunitat de Regants “Sèquia del Molí”.
