The causal relationship between Individual’s choice behavior and self-reported satisfaction: the case of residential mobility in the EU

One of the most persistent and lasting debates in economic research refers to whether the answers to subjective questions can be used to explain individuals’ economic behavior. Using panel data for twelve EU countries, in the present study we analyze the causal relationship between self-reported housing satisfaction and residential mobility. Our results indicate that: i) households unsatisfied with their current housing situation are more likely to move; ii) housing satisfaction raises after a move, and; iii) housing satisfaction increases with the transition from being a renter to becoming a homeowner. Some interesting cross-country differences are observed. Our findings provide evidence in favor of use of subjective indicators of satisfaction with certain life domains in the analysis of individuals’ economic conduct.

Aquest projecte de l'àrea d'interacció humana amb els ordinadors vol mostrar algunes de les característiques de tres dels processos que intervenen en la compra de productes o serveis per Internet. Els processos que s'hi analitzaran seran el de cerca de productes mitjançant un motor de cerca, el d'ajuda o atenció al client i el de compra.

Aproximación a la Usabilidad en el e-Commerce español : Diseño centrado en el Usuario para el sector hotelero

Mitjançant l'anàlisi d'un cas 'redisseny del web de l'hotel Jucamar' es porta a terme una aproximació a la situació actual de la usabilitat en el comerç electrònic espanyol.

Creació d'un e-commerce

La finalitat d'aquest projecte és desenvolupar una aplicació de comerç electrònic per a la venda de productes en la xarxa. El projecte haurà de tenir dues parts ben diferenciades: el frontal -que serà visible per a qualsevol usuari de la xarxa- i la part d'administrador -nomès accessible per a l'administrador-. El projecte estarà desenvolupat amb eines J2EE, Ajax, jQuery i HTML5, oferint una total accessibilitat per als actuals navegadors.

Estudi i implementació d'un cas pràctic (e-commerce) segons etapes del disseny centrat en l'usuari

La idea bàsica d'aquest disseny centrat en l'usuari és obtenir informació sobre els usuaris, les seves tasques i objectius, i fer servir tota aquesta informació per orientar el disseny i el desenvolupament de productes. Per a la realització d'aquest treball s'han establert quatre fases: (1) Investigació, (2) Disseny d'escenaris i flux d'interacció, (3) Prototipat, i (4) Avaluació. El cas pràctic que es tractarà és una cadena de supermercats ecològics que vol promocionar la compra responsable d'aliments.

Implantació d'un ERP i una plataforma e-commerce de software lliure per al desenvolupament web d'una empresa

Aquest projecte constitueix la introducció d'un sistema d'informació a una PIME catalana. Incorporant dos grans i potents funcionalitats i serveis a l'empresa: la venta online mitjançant un e-commerce i la gestió de la informació i productes que hi ha a l'empresa mitjançant un ERP.

Plataforma e-commerce Magento, millora de la importació massiva de productes

Aquest projecte tracta de la millora de l’actual sistema d’importació que disposa Magento. Actualment per importar els productes a una botiga Magento es necessita treballar amb un fitxer csv on s’introdueix una gran quantitat de dades i requereix una gran quantitat de temps i esforç per part de l’empresa. Per millorar l’actual sistema, es proposa crear una integració entre Magento i Google Docs, fent que tots els productes que es vulguin importar s’introdueixin en un full de càlcul Google Docs i s’importin a la botiga Magento.

Prime Property Institutions for a Subprime Era: Exploring Innovative Models of Residential Development and Finance

This paper breaks new ground toward contractual and institutional innovation in models of homeownership, equity building, and mortgage enforcement. Inspired by recent developments in the affordable housing sector and in other types of public financing schemes, this paper suggests extending institutional and financial strategies such as timeand place-based division of property rights, conditional subsidies, and credit mediation to alleviate the systemic risks of mortgage foreclosure. Alongside a for-profit shared equity scheme that would be led by local governments, we also outline a private market shared equity model, one of bootstrapping home buying with purchase options.

A search theory of money and commerce with Neoclassical production

This paper advances a highly tractable model with search theoretic foundations for money and neoclassical growth. In the model, manufacturingand commerce are distinct and separate activities. In manufacturing,goods are efficiently produced combining capital and labor. In commerce,goods are exchanged in bilateral meetings. The model is applied to studythe effects of inßation on capital accumulation and welfare. With realisticparameters, inflation has large negative effects on welfare even though itraises capital and output. In contrast, with cash-in-advance, a deviceinformally motivated with bilateral trading, inflation depresses capitaland output and has a negligible effect on welfare.

Towards a dynamic model of e-commerce: environmental, technological and organisational drivers of B2C along time

Despite the important benefits for firms of commercial initiatives on the Internet, e-commerce is still an emerging distribution channel, even in developed countries. Thus, more needs to be known about the mechanisms affecting its development. A large number of works have studied firms¿ e-commerce adoption from technological, intraorganizational, institutional, or other specific perspectives, but there is a need for adequately tested integrative frameworks. Hence, this work proposes and tests a model of firms¿ business-to-consumer (called B2C) e-commerce adoption that is founded on a holistic vision of the phenomenon. With this integrative approach, the authors analyze the joint influence of environmental, technological, and organizational factors; moreover, they evaluate this effect over time. Using various representative Spanish data sets covering the period 1996-2005, the findings demonstrate the suitability of the holistic framework. Likewise, some lessons are learned from the analysis of the key building blocks. In particular, the current study provides evidence for the debate about the effect of competitive pressure, since the findings show that competitive pressure disincentivizes e-commerce adoption in the long term. The results also show that the development or enrichment of the consumers¿ consumption patterns, the technological readiness of the market forces, the firm¿s global scope, and its competences in innovation continuously favor e-commerce adoption.
