Aquest document és una introducció a l’eina CapScribe per a audiodescripcions en vídeos digitals. Es tracta d’un programari gratuït per als entorns Mac d’Apple i pot treballar amb vídeos de Quicktime, YouTube i alguna altra plataforma i/o reproductor.

Aquest document dóna les pautes bàsiques per poder incorporar vídeos incrustats en una pàgina web codificada en HTML5, amb un reproductor accessible. Planificación del vídeo accesible

Este documento trata los aspectos principales que deben tenerse en cuenta en la producción de un vídeo accesible. Se siguen las etapas de creación de productos audiovisuales (planificación, producción y difusión) y se dan pautas para permitir introducir la accesibilidad en cada una. Se repasa también la legislación principal sobre autorizaciones de grabación y se dan consejos sobre las licencias Creative Commons más recomendables para difundir el producto final.

Fish passage assessment at the most downstream barrier of the Ebro River (NE Iberian Peninsula)

Fish passage at artificial barriers is necessary for the conservation of healthy fish stocks. The first barrier that migratory fish encounter when ascending the Ebro River is the Xerta Weir, where a pool-type fishway was constructed in 2008. From 2007 to 2010, boat electrofishing surveys were conducted in the Ebro River downstream of the Xerta Weir to assess the potential pool of species that could use the fishway. Nine native and 12 exotic species were captured, the latter comprising 62 % of the relative abundance and 70 % of the biomass. A combination of video recording, electrofishing and trapping was used to assess the effectiveness of the fishway in facilitating the passage of fish. Eight species were detected using the fishway, of which five were native (Liza ramada, Anguilla anguilla, Barbus graellsii, Gobio lozanoi and Salaria fluviatilis) and three exotic (Alburnus alburnus, Cyprinus carpio and Rutilus rutilus). Only L. ramada used the fishway in substantial numbers. The rate of fish passage was the highest from June to August and decreased afterwards. The effectiveness of the fishway might be lowered by areas of turbulence within the fishway and by distraction flows from a nearby hydropower station

System analysis of a Peer-to-Peer Video-on-Demand architecture: Kangaroo

Architectural design and deployment of Peer-to-Peer Video-on-Demand (P2PVoD) systems which support VCR functionalities is attracting the interest of an increasing number of research groups within the scientific community; especially due to the intrinsic characteristics of such systems and the benefits that peers could provide at reducing the server load. This work focuses on the performance analysis of a P2P-VoD system considering user behaviors obtained from real traces together with other synthetic user patterns. The experiments performed show that it is feasible to achieve a performance close to the best possible. Future work will consider monitoring the physical characteristics of the network in order to improve the design of different aspects of a VoD system.
