Measuring social impact: A guideline to implement a tableau de bord

Many impact-seeking organisations cannot measure and demonstrate their social impact because they either lack technical expertise or requisite financial and human resources. This report clarifies the process of social impact measurement to help these organisations engage in social impact measurement practices. It presents a simple guideline to create a measurement approach based on the Tableau de Board. The guideline has been developed through a theoretical revision of best practices in social impact measurement, academic research and the author's individual thoughts and ideas. While a first testing of the approach revealed positive feedback, only future broad-scale testing will demonstrate the approach’s validity and feasibility.

Indicadores de desempenho em saúde : reflexão teórica e prática

RESUMO - O presente trabalho aborda a temática da avaliação de desempenho do ponto de vista dos vários intervenientes no sistema de saúde português. Propõe a criação de indicadores de desempenho para um sistema nacional, em que cada patamar tem o seu próprio modelo definido. Estes modelos de organização dos dados são uma forma de concatenar dois dos modelos mais utilizados, o painel de controlo de gestão e o balanced scorecard. Os dados esperados pelo autor levam a concluir pela inexistência de um sistema tal como o proposto. No entanto alguns dos dados existentes são suficientes para iniciar um processo futuro de análise a partir deste trabalho de projecto. -----------------------ABSTRACT - The present essay focuses on the evaluation of performance from the point of view of all the managers in the Portuguese healthcare system. It proposes the creation of performance indicators in every stage of the healthcare system. The way this is done is by linking together two of the most used models in the world, the tableaux de board and the balanced scorecard. The author is lead to conclude that given the availability of data in Portugal such a model does not exist. However given that some data is available it is possible to initiate a process of future analysis taking the present essay into account.

How to monitor and improve Unilever JM Supply Chain processes to become the best of Portugal’s sector in 2015?

Unilever Jerónimo Martins is a Portuguese joint-venture leading firm in what concerns the supply chain industry of fast-moving consumer goods in Portugal. The scope of analysis of this Work Project is focusing on Unilever-JM operations and services in the Portuguese market regarding quality, efficiency and effectiveness over B2B customers. It will be analysed the possibility of development and implementation of a performance measurement system, Tableau de Bord, which will be crucial for the identification of potential opportunities of improvement with impact in the supply chain processes. This will be completed through the establishment of KPI’s to monitor and manage periodically logistics, planning and customer service processes’ performance, which are the ones where the bottlenecks are impacting more in the supply chain. In this work project the nexus causality for the problems will also be discussed and some recommendations will be prepared to tackle the inefficiencies found through the monitoring of the previous core processes, in order to improve efficacy and quality service of the supply chain.
